It was a bright sunny day as Mossflower trotted down the main street of Phony City, her little satchel hanging from her shoulder and full of medical supplies for the various animals she had recovering in her room. A squirrel with a broken tail had arrived yesterday and she’d run right out of bandages, using up the very last roll. The green Phony stopped as she passed a bakery, taking a deep breath through her nose to catch every last delicious smell. Her stomach rumbled. Too bad she’d spent all her money already.

Today was just too good of a day to stay inside. Tone Deaf had hit the streets of Phony City and the allure of the bakery was just too much to resist. He cam prancing out of the bakery, tastey treat in tow, when he just about ran into another phony. "Oh, oh, sorry!" He took a step back, gently setting down the bag that contained his treat. "Almost ran into you there!"

Mossflower's eyes widened when somebody came rushing out of the bakery. "I'm sorry," she said as she stepped back, "I shouldn't have been in the- Tone Deaf! There was nobody in her family she didn't know by name and sight and she smiled brightly at the other foal. "What have you got there? Oh, I bet it's tasty. They make the nicest cookies here."

Tone was so preoccupied by his treat and the delicious smell of the bakery that when he heard the phony say his name he was slightly taken aback. "Oh!" He smiled wide. It was hard not to know a face in the family. "Mossflower! I didn't expect to see you here!" He looked down at his bag at the mention of cookies. He nodded vigorously. "I couldn't help be get one. I mean, it smells so wonderful, it's probably twice as delicious!" He was tempted to just dig into it right then and there. "Why don't you go get yourself one? We can eat them together and catch up."

"I bet it is too. I can smell it from here!" Mossflower gave a cheerful little laugh and then shrugged, showing off her full bag. "I’ve already used up all my money today, so you go ahead and eat. We can catch up anyway." Even if her stomach was still making little rumbles, she’d just have to come back tomorrow… or ask her mama to make some at home, although Yawn baking was never a very good idea.

He couldn't deny his own family the deliciousness that he was about to enjoy. "I'll just get you one then!" He smiled, then blinked, remembering that he had spent the little bit he had on this treat. He was faced with a dilemma: eat the tasty treat right in front of Mossflower, whose stomach seemed to growl right in his ears, or share it. There was nothing wrong with that! "I can't eat this in your face while you look so hungry!" He chuckled, scooting the back closer to her. "Let's just split it. Halvsies. Right down the middle." He nodded vigorously. "It'll probably taste even better that way."

"That would be lovely..." she began to say when he offered to buy her one, only to trail off when she saw on his face the exact moment he realized he didn't have enough money either. Then he was suggesting he cut his own treat in half and she gave him a grateful shoulder bump. "Are you super sure?"

"Super duper sure!" Tone smiled wide. He wasn't just going to take back his offer. "Besides, we both get to experience this deliciousness." He was almost drooling over the cookie now. "But next time, we need to plan this out and make extra sure we can get as many cookies as we want!" He couldn't help but giggle. "So many that our tummies will hurt!"

Well, she couldn't fault that logic and she would have made the same suggestions if their positions had been reversed. Family knew how to share! "Alright! We'll enjoy this cookie together and then one day we'll come back and have as many as we can!"

"Come on!" He jerked his head to a nearby seating area. "Let's get out of the way and catch up." He grabbed the bag in his mouth, making this way over. He was more than ready to share the cookie with Mossflower, just as long as they did it soon so they could eat!

ashes to the wind I'd say done unless you want one more post? "You're the best nephew a girl could ask for," Mossflower praised with a giggle as she followed him over to the table. Then she took a seat and waited with bright eyes for the cookie sharing to begin. Talk could happen after they ate!

"Now I wouldn't say that!" He laughed as they sat and broke the cookie in half. He offered her the bigger piece and began to munch on his as he tried to talk and catch up with Mossflower.
