Kecheri looked at the land as it passed beneath her hooves. This was the right way to where she needed to be. She wondered if he had remembered...who was she kidding of course he had. She was sad when she had left but the wildness in her heart had called for a walkabout and it was part of who she was that wildness. She was not ready to be tied down, and unwilling to risk him out there. She was a warrior and smart warriors did not bring those they really cared about into battle. She had now proven herself as a mare. Travelling and fighting with other mares. It was a rough hard life and she adored it. But he had never left the back of her mind. Tall, strong, dependable. Hijiki...

Hijiki glared at the ground as he grazed by the lake. He'd had a dream go sour, and hadn't wanted to be around Salil and Serenne as he sulked; both would likely tease him about getting up on the wrong side of the bed. And he didn't want to talk to them about his nightmare; it was much too personal to speak about, even to his best friends. No, his worries about his beloved finding someone else and abandoning him were not things he could allow to be picked at. His feelings for her were precious, and he wouldn't let the others tease him about her when he was already insecure about the probability of her returning. But even with his doubts, he stayed close to this lake where they promised to meet again. That was how Hijiki found and chose the location of his and Salil's 'base'--the abandoned human dojo was close enough to the lake for him to walk to it every day without suspicion from his best friends. He looked up at the blue sky above him and sighed. It was going to be a hot day, but a beautiful one. He wished Kecheri was there to share it with him...

Kecheri had come up behind him, he was still perfect, right down to the seaweed. How she had missed that handsome face and strong body. "Hey stranger, I knew I would find you. She had travelled all over the floating isle. And this was the last place. The place where home was. "You." She said to his back. "Are home."
"I have achieved my warrioress status. And I want to share my life with you now that I know what I am capable of. I stand here almost complete. Only one peice is missing." She sidled closer and kissed his jaw. "Hijiki." Her musical voice caressed his name.

It took Hijiki a moment to notice hoofsteps behind him, but he didn't think much of it. It was probably Serenne or Salil. He was about to throw out his usual teasing before they could when a musical voice spoke behind him. His whole body went rigid with surprise. That voice. That was the beautiful voice that shone in his dreams and haunted his nightmares. This wasn't a dream... was it? He'd really woken up, right?
He couldn't even bring himself to turn around and face the speaker as his eyes widened at her words. His gaze fixed on the breathtaking purple mare that slid up beside him and kissed his jaw. His nostrils flared as he turned to face her, eager to take in the scent of his beloved warrioress. Emotion swirled in those sky blue orbs enough to keep him still and silent for another several moments. This was real. Kecheri was back, and she still wanted a life with him. All of his doubts and fears were shoved aside in the face of his overwhelming relief. Finally, he managed to force two words out of his tightened throat. "Welcome home."

Something inside her popped back into place and she heaved a sigh of contentment. Everything was right in the world once more. She swallowed hard, those words meant more then anything he could have done. She felt right. He had let her chase and catch her dreams and now she was on a new adventure, now he was her dream and she had caught him. She grinned at him, tears shinning in her eyes. "I've missed you, I fought for you and I won. There was never another stallion or mare out there for me. My heart belongs to you and with you it will stay." She plopped her butt down for emphasis.

Tears spilled freely as Kecheri spoke the words he'd feared he'd never hear. When she plopped her butt down for emphasis, Hijiki was finally broken from his frozen state. He dropped down and curled around his beloved, nuzzling her the way he'd wanted to since the moment she left on her journey. "I missed you," he murmured, thanking every god he could think of that Kecheri had been safely returned to him.

Kecheri leaned over and draped herself against him. Her big grin shining up from her face. "I missed you too. I missed your company and your comfort, there is something somewhat catty about living with all females for too long." She made a face and rubbed her face against him. "And this, I missed this, being able to feel your warmth, comfort, strength, your sweet breath on my face, all of it. I never want to leave too far again!"
"It was something I needed to do, but the pain of you being so far, especially at night was GAH it was awful." She started nibbling up his neck idly.

Hijiki chuckled at the comment about living with all females. "You should meet my roommate and his lady friend." He paused, then added, "Huh. I guess I've become a third wheel in your absence." Not the most pleasant thought, but since Kecheri was here now, that wouldn't be the case. "I've missed the way you can steal the words out of my mouth," he teased. More seriously, he continued, "I missed your voice, your scent, your touch..." His skin practically sang as Kecheri rubbed her face against him.
"I know. I'm glad your home." Hijiki happily nibbled back, nostrils flaring as they greedily took in the long-missed scent. For a brief moment he wondered what Salil would think, but he quickly dismissed the thought; his best friend would just have to deal with it. He wasn't going to leave Kecheri's side. "I love you, Kecheri," he murmured, happy to let the familiar name roll off his tongue once again.

"Oh Hijiki, I love you too." She nuzzled his face. Joy filled her heart at his words, he loved her! The sky had just exploded with happiness for her. She was a warrioress tried and true and now she had a love to protect and she was the happiest she had been in a long time. Things were falling together and she could enjoy years upon years of Hijiki Nori.
"So who are these 1st and 2nd wheels? I am glad you had some to be around in my absence." She wondered what they were like, would one or both need a hoof in the face to get over themselves? She almost grinned at the thought, Hijiki was the one thing in the world she was sure of. No one would get between her and her beloved.

Hijiki nuzzled her back, radiating happiness. This was the mare he would spend his life with. There would never be another.
The stallion couldn't help grinning at her question. "Salil Jellicin and Serenne, members of the slowly growing Teasing Club. Salil tries to mask his emotions and is a little overprotective at times, but he's a good guy. He's also really funny when you catch him off-guard. Serenne's a polite one, though she likes to tease Salil almost as much as I do. It's almost like having a sister." He grinned. "Salil will probably be surprised." After all, Hijiki hadn't exactly... well, interacted with mares at all besides to taunt them. And even that he mostly left to Salil since he clearly enjoyed it. "What about you?" he inquired. "Meet anyone interesting on your journey?" Hopefully he wasn't the only one who made some lasting friendships.

"Hmm teasing and polite...not really my things. I've always been a bit more well blunt, as you well know. My battle partner's name was Rayha. We became close friends. I hope she visits after she sees her family. Wonder if she will bring a boy too."
She was a little leery about Hijiki's friends but they had been there for him when she hadn't so she would try to hold back...a little. Mess with her Hijiki and you get the Kecheri, a more serious threat now then before when she just boasted and her fighting was clumsy.
"Where do you live?" She glanced around but so far saw only lakeside, which was beautiful but not exactly enclosed.

"I do love your bluntness," Hijiki replied. It matched his own, even though he used his for teasing. "I see. Well, she's welcome at our base. There's plenty of room." A friend of Kecheri's was a friend of his. Well, hopefully.
He grinned at the question. "A human dojo. It's really bit and easy to move around in, so I moved into it. It's just a short walk through the trees."

"A dojo? Well there are definitely worse buildings to live in, there is an open area right? I don't like confined places. It doesn't make sense that a fighter would put themselves in a box without a million exits."
She peered through the trees, grudgingly eager to see the place were she cold continue to celebrate the love she had for HIjiki with him. It had been over a year, perhaps two, they melded into nearly an eternity. And now she was free to love him..properly.

Hijiki nodded, smiling. "Yes, there are a few open areas." Enough space to avoid Salil and Serenne if they wanted to. He followed Kecheri's gaze, eyes sparkling. "Wanna see?" He wasn't sure how Salil and Serenne would react, though he could guess. But it wasn't terribly important compared to the still-magical presence of Kecheri beside him.

Kecheri dipped her head, she had been found out. "To tell the truth, I very much would like to see it. I'm rather excited." She strode up ahead, "They don't know I'm coming do they?" She grinned broadly. "Muahahaha lets go meet the family." She skipped ahead joy in every line of movement. Her tail bristling out behind her, holding it out made her look bigger more intimidating but it was all in good fun...for now. She wouldn't exactly say no to a little scuffle, but it might be better to keep her jets cool for this first meeting...should she cower behind Hijiki and pretend to be a delicate wallflower? She thought not. "C'mon HIji!" She squealed and trotted in the direction of the dojo and its unsuspecting, unforwarned inhabitants. Poor things.
