It got easier every day. That little lie spilled off the tongue as if it wasn't one at all, as if she truly was staying the night at a friend’s house and would be playing the games that thirteen year olds did, whispering about the boys they liked. The hardest part was how easily they trusted her. Or should she be concerned that they didn’t check to make sure that was where she was? One day she knew they would notice, once they looked past the busy social life they were glad to have back, and she would have to come up with some answers, but for now… Aludra was running along the top of a bridge when she felt it; two energy signatures from below in the dark. She came to a sudden halt, poised and alert. One was obviously the Negaverse. She’d felt that brush of Chaos enough to recognize it anywhere and it nearly turned her in the opposite direction. She’d done very little good confronting them on her own so far and a tactical retreat seemed the best option. But that other one… Feels good, she decided after a few seconds spent in thought, which meant they might be in trouble. Biting her lip, the Chibi crept to the edge of the bridge as quiet as a mouse, hoping to catch a glimpse or a less dramatic way down than simply jumping. Silverah Mid battle for Astrophyllite and Nazca, with the poor Page getting his a** handed to him, if you please. ;D <3

This page was older than Gehenna, but he was weaker, too. Astrophyllite could feel his inexperience in his power signature, and, remembering her orders, she'd gone after him, board raised and vicious. No more fraternizing with the enemy! She would be a good soldier. She would prove Zinkenite and Bischofite wrong. Avalon believed in her, and she needed to be good while Avalon was away-- She'd been chasing the page for some fifteen minutes now, and was confident she was about to seal the deal. The lieutenant leapt, following the man's attempts to escape, and swung her ouija board hard. She missed, but recovered quickly. "I'm going to take your starseed back to the general!" she yelled. General Natron, that was. Avalon had given her a good review, but she still needed to impress her new commanding officer the way she'd impressed her old, and that meant-- And that meant-- That meant proving she could be hard. Astrophyllite swung her board again. "Die, alien scum!" she shrieked. DivineSaturn Let me know if this does not work for you!

This was not Nazca's night.
It wasn't his week either. Or his month, or maybe even his year. His sister was still missing. He had to deal with his frantic parents, and the police, and work, and class. The only other non-terrorist he'd found so far was some teenaged girl who kicked his butt, despite supposedly being on his side. And now another teenaged girl was kicking his butt, though apparently she wasn't on his side at all.
Being a magical knight officially sucked.
It was a clash of blunt objects, and the girl definitely had the advantage; her weapon was larger and lighter than his book, giving her a longer reach and a swiftness he lacked. Not that he wanted to hurt her. She was a kid, for crying out loud. Younger than Tara, if he had to guess. She should have been home in bed, not trying to bash his head in for no reason he could make out.
But he couldn't exactly argue that when she was smacking him with some sort of ouija board. Asking her to stop had been fruitless. All he could do was use his book as a tiny shield and hope that she would make a mistake soon, something that would allow him to get away. And put ice on his bruises, because getting hit with that thing hurt more than he would've guessed.
Ruriska One distressed dude, at your service! Silverah Everything's perfect on my end! biggrin

Aludra slid down the embankment at one end of the bridge and landed in a crouch. Now that she was aware of the ruckus she could make out the sounds of the fight; the yelling, the grunts of effort, the thud of the repeated strikes. It took only a few steps until she was in a position to finally see them and she mouthed a silent ‘oh no’. The Chaos girl looked like she was only a few years older than herself, but there was no way Aludra could imagine fighting anyone with that sort of intensity. She couldn’t imagine wanting to hurt somebody that badly, especially an adult. It made her sad just to see it. In some cases the Negaverse couldn’t be reasoned with, she reminded herself and somebody was going to have to intervene before book wielding man was more than just bruised. Whoever he was, or whatever his place in the war, she couldn’t stand by and just watch. "Hey, hey you! Stop that!" Don’t just yell, silly, use your attack."O-over here! I’ll show you to the right path!" She nodded at the man, hoping he understood and then refocused her attention on the officer. "The One Path!" she called, pumping as much confidence as she could into the shout. Then she turned her back of them both and walked away, an illusionary path winding long beneath her feet. Hopefully it would be enough to buy him some time. [ The One Path : Aludra runs ahead, following a path that is appearing beneath her feet. You are compelled to follow her and ignore everything else. Time limit: 10 seconds. ]Silverah I was debating letting them fight it out for a bit, but she's going straight in! c: Everything is perfect.

So she was fighting this dude, and, like, everything was going pretty well? Astrophyllite totally had him on the ropes and his book couldn't protect him forever. She'd take his starseed and get a pat on the head for her troubles and everything would be awesome because she was a good little soldier, right? Right! Well, right until she noticed a flash of red out of the corner of her eye. Astrophyllite let up for a moment, turning to look towards the young girl screaming at her. An alien! she thought. A really little one, but definitely a senshi, her aura singing of sweet buttercream and bright innocence. Even better, decided Astrophyllite. She'd bring two starseeds back to Natron and then he'd really like her! Except, like, she had this totally weird compulsion to follow the senshi. "Stay here," she told the knight, very seriously, and dashed away from him, board held tightly in front of her chest as she followed the younger girl. "Where are we going?" she called, very quickly forgetting all about the page. "The right path to where?"

Suddenly, the hitting stopped. Which was a really good thing, as far as Nazca was concerned. He peeked over the edge of his book, wondering what had happened, only to see the girl who'd been beating him, and badly, start to run off. After telling him to stay put, which was so not going to happen. This was the chance he'd been waiting for to get away!
It was weird, though. Why did she suddenly dash off like that? Curious, he glanced in the direction she was headed in. Once he saw what she was running towards, though, he froze.
A kid. A kid-kid, not just a teenager like this girl, or the one who'd attacked him before. She was probably still in elementary school. What the hell was she doing out here? It was late, and dark, and psychos wielding deadly ouija boards were running around. Her parents were probably worried sick.
Just like his were, he thought, standing up to his full height again. He hadn't been able to do anything to help Tara when she needed him. There was no way he was going to let another little girl wind up in trouble because of him. Not as long as he was still breathing.
"Don't you dare!" he shouted, chasing after them. His bruises were forgotten, his desire to avoid confrontation gone. All that mattered was that he intercept the crazy girl before anything happened. Which meant trying to ram her from behind, using his size advantage as a weapon, rather than the book that had done nothing to help him before.

It was working. "You’ll see," she called back, voice ringing with triumph. Not that she knew what she’d do once her magic ran out, which quite honestly, wasn't going to take very long. She could already feel it waning as the seconds ticked by. But Aludra simply peeked over her shoulder as she walked and smiled, "don’t fall behind." Once the Lieutenant was far enough away from her victim, Aludra could think about escape. Except said victim obviously had a different idea in mind and she was just in time to see him go in for the attack when she looked backwards again. That probably should have been expected…

So, like, the thing was - Astrophyllite didn't actually want to attack the little baby senshi. From the moment the girl promised to show her to the right path, all thoughts of violence fled from her mind. All she wanted to do was see where they were going and what waited for them at the end of the road! WHUMP!The page slammed into her from behind, and Astrophyllite staggered forwards. "Hey!" she cried out, stars blooming in front of her eyes. "Leave me alone," she said, tears brimming at the corners of her eyes. She threw an elbow at him, more keen on shaking him off than actually hurting him. "I've got to follow the path!" She looked desperately ahead. The path was fading, and the girl from which it sprang was getting further and further away. If she vanished, then Astrophyllite would never find out where it went, and she didn't think she could live with herself if that happened. (Well. No. She would find a way.) The lieutenant jerked away from the page and made a mad dash for the fading magic. "Where does it go?" she yelled to the little senshi. "Come back! Take me with you!"

Nazca wasn't a particularly violent guy, and hurting people wasn't really his plan, but there was something satisfying about the way his body slam connected. It stopped the actually violent girl long enough for him to get a word in edgewise, at least. "Look, if you have to fight, fight me, but you are not going to- oof!"
The elbow to the gut cut him off, if only for a moment. It gave him an idea that began to percolate. And it also gave the girl time to get away, which was not what Nazca wanted to see.
"Would you stop that already?" Since his last attack from behind had worked reasonably well, he went in for another one. This time, inspired by the way his stomach was tingling, he led with an elbow, and put a little more force into his hit. Maybe this time she wouldn't brush it off so easily, and she'd have to take his objections seriously.
Or maybe she'd counter with another gut punch. But that was still preferable to letting her prey on little girls.

Aludra stopped in her tracks and half turned to watch as the struggle began again. The path she had created was fading away into nothing and she felt a keen sense of sorrow as the Lieutenant still struggled towards her. "I’m sorry, but the path is gone now…" she said, not expecting to be heard. Then her attack was done and the compulsion faded entirely, so that she was just a useless little girl again and it seemed as if she’d achieved nothing at all. Her attempt to end a fight had only prolonged it, though one could argue that now the right side was winning. If Nazca wanted her to leave, it wasn't going to happen. Instead she was approaching again, hoping the Negaverser would take the hint that it was now two against one and would make a hasty retreat.

"I don't want to fight!" cried Astrophyllite, as the pesky page's elbow slammed against her. This was no fair! Why wouldn't he just leave her alone? Natron would be angry with her if he found out she'd abandoned her task like this, but what if the path lead to something even better? Then everything would be forgiven. "I want to follow the path!" She did her best to limp away from him and continue following the little girl, but he just wouldn't let up. He was slowing her down too much, she thought desperately, looking to the senshi just in time to hear that the path was gone. She looked, and sure enough, it had vanished. "No!" exclaimed Astrophyllite to the page, tears welling in the corners of her eyes. "You made me miss it! Now I'll never find out where it goes!" To the senshi, she said, "Bring it back! I want to know where it goes!" Ruriska Aludra could literally just point in a random direction and Astro would take her word for it and zoom.

Her heart was beating in her throat, rapid and painful. The Lieutenant didn't want to fight anymore, that much was clear and Aludra didn't want to be a part of it either. It was as good as done. I’ll show you to the right path. Those had been her words and the chibi believed somewhere deep inside, that she could do that. They didn’t have to be enemies. "Stop, stop! Don’t attack anymore!" She was moving forward, holding a hand out towards the older girl. "Come on, it’s this way. It’s going to be okay." A quick glance towards the man with his book and she made a quick decision, hoping it was the right choice. "You have to go home now," Aludra told Astrophyllite. Then she lifted a hand, pointing away to the west. "That's the way. That's the path you take today." If only she would take it and they could all breathe easy. Silverah edited in a small bit at the end to make it easier for Astrophyllite to take her leave, if you want to go next c: DivineSaturn Posting next as requested. <3

Astrophyllite paused, staring raptly at the little senshi. If she sensed dishonesty, she made no motion to call it out. Slowly, she shifted her gaze along the length of the girl's arm, and while she felt none of the previous magical compulsion to follow that path, she didn't think she would steer her wrong. After all, she'd said it would be okay. "You're sure?" Astrophyllite asked nervously. Natron would be angry with her if he found out she'd given up so easily on not one, but two, valuable targets - but she believed in fate and fortune, and it seemed important to follow these commands tonight. "Okay," she said, tucking her ouija board under her arm. The girl had, after all, pointed towards home - she'd best obey. It seemed important. So, despite the path being made of asphalt and not gold, the lieutenant hurried off into the night to chase good fortune and sweet dreams. Ruriska Thanks for inviting me to play with you guys!

Nazca gaped. It was the one thing he'd gotten a lot of practice at, since becoming a knight. He gaped at the psycho girl, who practically skipped off like she was on her way to Grandma's House. He gaped at the younger girl, who had done some sort of magic hypnotism. Then he gaped at his hands, holding a book that hadn't helped him in the slightest.
What good was he, when someone half his age was needed to save his a**?
He turned to his rescuer, struggling with what he wanted to say to her. The magical knight in him wanted to ask how she'd done that. The pseudo-parent in him wanted to demand that she go home right away. The nice guy in him wanted to thank her for intervening. All three of them wrestled inside Nazca's brain, fighting for the chance to speak first, until one was victorious.
"Thank you." Odd, that the nice guy came out on top. "I really appreciate it." And then the other two parts elbowed their way in. "How did you do that, anyway? And, uh. I know I don't look like much, but can I escort you somewhere? Are your parents waiting for you?"

There was a large part of her that wanted to follow the Lieutenant but chasing after someone from the Negaverse probably wasn’t the best of ideas and she had a feeling her new ally wouldn’t approve. And speaking of said ally… Aludra stopped staring after Astrophyllite and looked over Nazca with a distracted smile. "You’re welcome," she said automatically, her polite instincts kicking in. It was strange. In her real life, meeting an adult so obviously older than her, technically old enough to be her father even, she wouldn’t dream of having any sort of real conversation. She would say ‘hello’, smile nicely and then her parents would do the rest. In this world of magic and war, the thirteen year old felt a certain sense of seniority when faced with the clearly not-quite-informed man and she felt it was her duty to teach him. "My name is Chibi Sailor Aludra, Senshi of Pathways." She curtsied. "My parents are at home and don’t know I’m here, at least I hope. I’ll find my own way back later." Of course, wanting to teach him was all well and good, except she didn't know exactly what he was. He didn't feel like a Senshi and he obviously didn't know about magical attacks. "Who are you?"
