Mikhail walked the last few steps up the short staircase of the train station, now on a platform with a bunch of other people, all milling around, probably on their morning commute. His school was offering extra credit to anyone in the shop classes who went to the big technology convention across town. Apparently one of the teachers would be there to take the names of anyone who showed up, and plus they got a student entrance fee into the convention! A measly $5 bucks instead of the full price of $50.
He couldn't pass up the opportunity. Sure it wasn't the biggest convention around, but it was still a legitimate excuse to go to the convention, and not have to blow a ton of money on it! Plus it was down-town, at the convention center. Right smack dab in the middle of all the cool stuff to do, and within walking distance from china-town, which he kept saying he wanted to talk Rene to. He was sure the gray eyed boy would just love it.
Mikhail has a messenger bag with him, strapped over his shoulder, and scanned the crowd for his friend, not seeing him as the crowd thinned, one of the trains loading and preparing to leave. Its ok, he was early, and he doubted his friend would be here a moment before he had to. If he knew Rene ( which he did ) that boy was probably even barely awake. He had a mental picture of his sister, Thea, turning on the light and letting him know that he was going to be late if he didn't get his out of bed. He also had an almost cartoon picture in his head of Rene hissing at his sister like a feline, before burrowing back under the covers muttering something to the tone of five more minutes.
He made him chuckle, and wonder over to one of the benches, underneath a large old fashioned dial clock. That was were they said they would meet, and the boy sat down, carefully balancing the two very hot to-go cups on his knees, his hands lightly holding the lids to the paper cups, letting their warmth seep into his fingers.
Their train wouldn't leave for another fifteen minutes. As if on cue the train that had been loading left, and he saw their train rumbling down the tracks into the station.

I'm gonna kill him. Rene thought miserably as he trudged to the station. Despite the warm weather, the shorter male was bundled up in a nice fluffy hoodie. He would likely ditch it later, when he was warmer and more awake. He was gonna get Mikhail back for this. He wasn't sure how, or when. But Rene was swearing revenge here and now. A hand came up and rubbed at a temple as the noises just amplified in his head, seemingly louder then they really were. Why couldn't he have chosen a quieter way to travel? Ugh... Whatever. Thankfully he had coffee. That was all that mattered. Even if it was crappy coffee. Fortunately, by the time Rene got there and caught sight of Mikhail, he was a bit more awake and he didn't look like a zombie so much anymore. "I hate you. Just so you know." He yawned. They both knew it was a blatant lie.

Mikhail stretched his long long legs for just a moment before he stood, for once in his life looking vaguely graceful even though he was rather elegantly. He always felt better in the mornings, a stark contrast to his teeny tiny freckled friend.
" Ah, wound me to my soul, why don't ya. " though he was smiling a bright and cheery smile the whole time. Mikhail noticed the cup in rene's hands. Dark brown eyes locked on the cup he recognized from the coffee shop ( and he used that term loosely ) at the gass-station by there school, which just so happened to be directly on the route here. He rolled his eyes in a very visible manner. Probably something he would only do with the boy in front of him.
" Still hate me? " He held up a hand, grasping a cup decorated with the logo of his favorite coffee shop, carefully in one large hand, careful not to spill a drop of the precious dark espresso, which had steam curling from the little hole in the lid. It was a paper cup, but was embossed with a metallic filigree decal on it that marked it as something from a high end shop, one that wasn't really on the way, but was known for its espresso.
It had been a special stop.

Rene smiled a sleepy smile. "It's gross and nasty." He commented, knowing exactly what Mikhail was looking at. "I was running late, obviously, so I just got the quickest thing." And he had inhaled almost all of it, naturally. "Pretty sure the guy didn't know what he was doing." The noise that left Rene could only be described as pure bliss (or so he would say) as he recognized the espresso. "No. You are the best. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you at the second." He murmured lazily, ditching his gross coffee for Mikhail's heavenly one. "Waaaaarm." Rene had half a mind to rub his cheek on it. "You didn't hafta do that you know.. I woulda got something when we got to the convention."

" Well that's what you get from buying your c-coffee from a shop attached to a Truck n' Travel gas-station. " Mikhail said, sounding amused and only a teeny tiny bit exasperated. Mikhail was all up to a weird food challenge, but there was a difference between weird food and bad food.
Mikhail grinned as the tiny dark haired teen reacted much like Doombringer did whenever Franky whipped out the cat-n**. He was pretty sure he just heard him purr. He felt his face head as he blushed a little, and he hid it nicely by taking a sip from his own beverage. It was such a little thing, and it had made him so happy.
" I know, but it still wouldn't have been as good, and you'll enjoy it more then the stuff at the convention. " Mikhail continued to sipp his coffee as their train screeched to a slow hault at the station. " Besides... I know how you are in the morning. Without it I probably would have had to carry you all the way to the convention. " he paused. " You know. Like a koala with sub-par coffee breath. " He grinned, eyes glinting with amusement.

"I would have gotten coffee at a normal place if I wasn't up at the crack of dawn." Rene pointed out as he took a long, slow sip of his coffee. "Consider yourself lucky. I don't get up at the crack of dawn for just anyone." Which was true. Rene wouldn't even get up for his parents. "The beeeeeest..." Rene purred again. He then blinked owlishly, before squinting hard at Mikhail. Did he really just call him a Koala? Rene opened his mouth several times to say something before finally closing it. ...He was probably right. "Or atleast until I finally wake up. In which case I'd go from Koala to hyperactive Puppy." Rene yawned again. Maybe he would get a coffee later, so far it didn't seem like he was waking up any. It felt like he was getting more sluggish. "Do you know when the train gets here?"

Mikhail nodded his head at the train which was just now spewing its passengers onto the platform like a flurry of frantic ants. " That's it, but you gotta let the commuters get off first, or they will r-run you over. " Mikhail was fairly used to the train system, he actually had a renewable little card that showed he had a year-long pass and didn't actually have to buy his ticket, his dad just payed a lump sum every year.
Mikhail took another contemplative sip of his coffee. There weren't a ton of other people on the platform, he had seen more on other trips, but it was still fairly busy, and it looked like the train was already well full with people heading into the city from other stations. " Looks like we might not get seats thought. " Mikhail carefully slung his messenger bag over one shoulder.
" Have you ever taken the train before? " He turned his head to watch his friend curiously. It was kind of out outdated mode of transportation, for people who had vehicles, and he was pretty sure Rene had his license.

"Mm.. I don't need to be run over. I'm short enough as it is." Rene took a lazy sip of his own as he watched the commuter's come and go off the platform. "That's fine." He murmured. That was usually how things worked right? Everyone filed in trains to the point where there was no space. "We should probably finish these before we get on." They didn't need to be spilling coffee all over them before arriving at their convention. "Once, when I was younger. But it's been a couple years now." Rene finished his coffee and stretched, earning himself a few pops from his back. "Don't lose me in the crows alright?" He teased. "I'm not as tall as you."
