Mikhail walked quickly through the golden light of early dawn. It was still crisp and cool, just the first hints of spring in the air, enough chill that the teen wore a light jacket the bright green on neon glowsticks. He walked quickly, over the past few weeks his feet head learned this path to Rene's house so well he could probably sleep walk here if he really needed to.
Though he hoped that didn't happen... He hadn't sleep walked sense he was little. Boy that would be embarrassing. His mind wondered along equally silly and outrageous thoughts, relaxed as a content sense of peace settled over him. It was turning out to be a beautiful day, it was sunny, and he got to spend a few hours with his best friend before he had to take off to a meeting his parents wanted to drag him off to. It was a luncheon type setting, and he would not be home till late in the evening. With school the next day, this was the only time he was available to study with his friend, which was probably the only reason for Rene having agreed to him coming over this early.
He walked up the door and raised his hand to knock, but before he could even do that it opened, and a little faced bounced up to him, soft fuzzy slippers slapping the floor as she hopped around like an excited mikhail, talking in an exagerated whisper, but really not being quiet at all.
" Ohimgawd HI mikhail, did ya bring me any of that candy? Or that weird green soda? " her curls flied through the air as she bounced, she was so tiny and he was so tall that she looked like a tiny little fairy out of a children's book in comparison, a tiny freckles triangle of a face looking up at him with bright eyes, expectantly.
Mikhail grinned, he had started to find Frankys almost scary enthusiasm for... well... everything, endearing instead of terrifying. " N-not before breakfast. Wait a few hours maybe I have something for you. " She gave him an exaggerated pout, but it quickly split into a grin " fine, ill go sleep for a few more hours. I will be back! C'MON HAMMY! " and with that she scampered back up the stairs like a curly haired tornado, her dog and feline following at a much more leisurely pace.
Suddenly Mikhail was left alone. He blinked and shut the front door behind him, quietly, sure that most of the house was still asleep. For that matter, were was Rene?

Rene's hand twitched as he heard the commotion going on downstairs. Up...Frankie. Awake... Must get up. His mind told him. Thea wasn't home this morning, she had once against crashed at a friends house. So the task of watching the ever ball of energy that was Frankie had fallen onto him. The dark haired teen groaned, scrubbing his face as he slowly pushed himself up. Wait a minute... She was talking to someone. Rene blinked in a sleepy haze as he staggered out of his room and towards the stair case. "Oh.." He yawned, rubbing at his eye. Right. That was today. Studying at the a** crack of dawn. Right... Why had he agreed to this? Oh well. "Coffee." He groaned, slowly descending the stairs and zombie walking into the kitchen. "Where did you wanna do this? Kitchen? Living Room or my room?" Rene mumbled a he grabbed a cup and set about making a poor excuse for an espresso. "If.. If we're doing it down here.. You may wanna get my stuff otherwise I'ma just fall over in bed again.." His gaze drifted lazily to his friend as he scratched at his shirt.

Mikhail carefully unslung his book bag, laden with precious literary cargo, and padded through the living room after toeing off his sneakers beside the heap of shoes by the door. He looked around and heard nothing, and was just turning to go up the stairs and knock politely on Rene's door when the teen came zombieing down the stares.
In his underwear.
And a giant tee-shirt that left one of his collarbones and a slender shoulder exposed. Did It have writing on it? Oh yes it did.
And his hair all... all rumpled.
Wait... d-do what? Or right. Study. Study. Study.
Mikhail felt his face flame red, and was unnaturally grateful that Rene was so groggy he was practically walking with his eyes closed, on auto-pilot to the kitchen. Mikhail took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose, like someone who was experiencing a horrible headache.
Who knew you could get dizzy from blushing to fast?
" I-i'll go get your books " and the tall boy made a hasty retreat up the stairs to his friends bedroom, only tripping once on his way up the stares. Good god this family was starting to rub off on him. to scoop his books and such from his desk, taking the time to gratefully get his composure back, taking only a brief moment to rest his forehead against the cool metal of the bunk-bed.
One day he would be free of this blushing curse. Hopefully. He rejoined his friend at a much more somber pace, pausing in the doorway to the kitchen to eyeball rene a moment, arms filled with books and binders.

"You are the beeeeeeeeest." Rene whined, head on the counter as he sleepily watched the coffee machine. He tried fighting with his shirt to stay on but ultimately failed and gave up. It wasn't worth it. The shirt was too big to play fair anyway. Once his coffee was all made up, Rene dragged himself over to the bar and plopped down on one of the stools there. His hands where wrapped around his mug and he just let the warmth steep in to his fingers. Sighing lightly, he raised the cup to his lips before taking a sip. It was gross of course. His parents had weird taste in coffee as it was, and anything he liked was far too expensive. Not to mention they didn't have one of those fancy espresso makers. It took a moment before he finally seemed to realize Mikhail was standing there. "...What?"

Mikhail took a steadying breath, before smiling slightly " Nothing, I guess I just didn't realize you were so not a morning person. I mean, I knew in theory you aren't, because you have told me so. Repeatedly. But your like dead on your feet. " He tilted his head, watching his friend, as he stalked over and placed books and paper and pencils on the counter top. He leaned over the counter top, stretching his neck to give a curious sniff at the cup of warmth Rene had.
It smelt like coffee. It kinda looked like coffee. So he poured himself a little cup and took a sip.... and had to do his best not to flinch, though he swore he felt his eyebrow twitch a little, and slowly lowered the cup down to the counter top like nothing was wrong.
Oh god the stuff tasted like someone had poured a cup of coffee, then dumped two thirds of it out, and refilled it with muddy water and sand. Like, salty sand. How was the coffee salty? HOW?
He coughed and cleared his throat a little.flipping open the text book to the section they were getting ready to work on. " So, how far through this have you gotten? " Mikhail technically wasn't in the same class as Rene for the subject, but he tended to tutor a lot, so he pretty much knew these chapters like he knew the back of his hand.

Rene made a small noise as he blinked slowly. "Mhmm... Yeah. I'll... I'll wake up in a bit." He said around a yawn. "Just make sure I don't lean too far back in the mean time okay?" The dark haired teen smiled sleepily again, sliding his cup a bit closer so Mikhail could examine it better. The smile grew wider and fonder as he watched his friend ultimately try it. "I know.. It's not the best." He said as he glanced down at his cup. It was some weird brand his mother bought. No one really liked it aside from her, but it made her happy. "It's enough to get me up though." Once Rene had even the slightest bit of coffee in him, he was more alert. He shook his head, watch his friend couch. "Mikhail, you don't have to drink that. You're free to raid the fridge for whatever you want." He leaned over, swaying a bit as he did to look at the book. His vision was foggy with sleep and Rene narrowed his eyes hopping it would help. It did, and Rene immediately wished it hadn't. Not only did Mikhail have him up at the a** crack of dawn. He had him up at the a** crack of dawn doing Math. "I.. ugh.." Rene scrubbed his face as he tried to remember, before flipping a few pages over and scanning. "Mmm.. Here. I was tripping up on the variables with exponents... of all things."
