Fiona had been toying with the idea that Beulah was trying even harder these days to make herself evident in every day waking life, no longer only in her dreams. She was curious to find out more, and perhaps another visit to Granny would soon be needed. For now, she carried on as per usual, back and forth to the cafe and the library every day. She was moving up a bit, now that she was able to get a few hours of work at the cafe every couple days. It was nice having a bit of money, considering she had been out on her own for so long. And Fiona was slowly starting to change as well, from a young girl into a beautiful, budding young woman. Albeit, it was strange to undergo these changes mostly alone, but sometimes she could feel Beulah guiding her along. That was what she was there for, guidance for this growing young woman. And she made it quite clear in the dream.

Fiona's dream had changed slightly, but she was still happy with it. Now, when she had the dream- which was increasingly often, still- she would sit and talk with Beulah for hours about life and where she wanted to go, what she wanted to do, and the ways that her life and her body were beginning to change. Fiona loved Beulah much like a mother, as that is what Beulah wanted to be like to her, and she couldn't imagine her life without the beautiful faerie now.

Today was a day that Fiona was working at the cafe, and she had her nose in a book behind the counter, as it was hot out today and so as a result, it was rather quiet indoors. Most were out doing their shopping and sight-seeing on days like this. She flew through novels as she awaited customers, the owner of the little cafe snoozed in one of the big comfortable chairs by the window.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” The cheap cell phone was pinned between Amelia's ear and shoulder as she entered the cafe, glancing behind her as the door eased shut. The piece of technology and plastic had no purpose other than to keep the weary woman from looking crazy as well as exhausted since she was used to everyone around her being unable to see her winged companion.

The cafe wasn't her usual stop after work, but she had the day off and enough trouble on her mind to keep even her dream specter on her toes. At least it was quiet inside, though Amelia wasn't sure if that meant she'd have some peace or just a death trap for her worries to sink into.

You've been pacing all night,” the elf explained calmly as she shadowed the clerk. “You're in a public place, one that you like. There was a soft golden aura indicating her presence, though her physical form was blurry to Amelia and other dreams, easiest to spot out of the corner of the eye. Some things, however, were rather difficult to miss, such as the giant pair of wings that sprouted from her back.

“Right, because it's not like I know what I'm doing.” Sighing, Amelia turned her attention to the young girl with the shock of vibrantly colored hair behind the counter and gave her a small, weary smile. “One vente iced chai, please.” Behind her, the elf was smiling widely; she, after all, knew a Dreamer when she saw one, even if her own was too tired to realize it.

The young girl perked up as she heard someone enter the shop. She knew her boss was out in dreamland for good for right now, but it didn't matter. It was only a small shop, and any questions could simply be answered by 'he owns the cafe'. For a moment, as Fiona examined the new customer, she thought she had heard another voice. Perhaps it had simply come through this woman's phone though. Then there was a flicker of aura, and she grinned mischievously to herself. The little orphan had a pretty good guess that this woman also happened to be one of Granny's dreamers. She wouldn't say anything though right now.

"Iced chai, sure, coming right up!" She repeated excitedly, placing her book gingerly on the counter beside the register and smiling up at the woman. "Would you like it to stay or to go?" Fiona inquired, brushing aside her bright-colored bangs. "If you're staying, I can give you a free refill for the road!" She added. That was a perk of working in a smaller store, she supposed. The owner of the cafe was very kind and liked to encourage people to stay and lounge, enjoy the cafe and the surroundings on the street just outside. It was a pretty part of the town, old-style buildings and some small shopping, a market. A good place to relax with one's thoughts.

She could feel Beulah's presence around her as she spoke to this new customer, and it only furthered her assumption that this lady was a dreamer too. There was a whisper from Beulah, and Fiona simply grinned and nodded her head.

Amelia "hung up" the phone after she ordered, suppressing a sigh as the barrista asked about her order. The most annoying part of what the hazy specter said was that she was right: the Dreamer had almost worn a trench in the ground overnight with her back-and-forth. Now she just needed something to keep her going through the day.

"Sure, that sounds great. I'll have it for here." Small favors made for fantastic miracles.

The aura would disappear when Fiona looked away, leaving her with only her customer on an ordinary day.

Fiona was slightly curious as to why this other woman seemed so very stressed out, but she knew by now that was a rude thing to be curious about, so she smiled sweetly as she made the drink, taking a moment to think about something to say...it was difficult, because her own thoughts were going a mile a minute.

"Great summer so far, hey?" Was all she could come up with amidst her wonderings. "If you'd like to choose a seat, I can bring it over in a sec!" The young girl added, having a hard time deciding whether it seemed like this lady even wanted to talk. Perhaps she would wait it out and see how the drink worked its magic. The things she made, well all the things in general that came from this cafe seemed to have a very distinct stress relief and relax magic, and especially when people stayed in for a while and made themselves at home.

There were large shelves full of books, some antique tables with nice dining chairs, and there were coffee tables (of course), with recliners and bean chairs and loungers all along the windows and the book shelf. Those who were coming for a meal or a quick cup of coffee usually sat at the tables, while those looking for a space to hang out, or a space to get lost in a book, they would usually curl up in one of the bigger chairs, meant for staying a few hours.

Fiona was curious to see what sort of seat this woman would choose, as well.

"Mhmm. If you like summer." Amelia's answer was as distant as her gaze as she glanced around the cafe, finding only herself, the barrista, and someone else in an oversized chair. She could handle that.

'You can do more than handle,' the elf's reminder echoed quietly in her mind, a reminder of how far she'd come so far. Perhaps it was fitting that the being who latched on to her dreams had a thing for hope.

"Sure, thanks." The words were meant for both Nu'eth and the young girl behind the counter as Amelia eyed her choices, then decided to see if there was anything interesting on the shelves that caught her eyes first.

Fiona hummed quietly to herself as she made the drink. The customer's comment about summer seemed kind of strange, but people preferred different things, she supposed, and to each their own was a widely used and well known statement that worked perfect for this occasion. She turned to look at the woman as she examined the shop, hoping that her sleeping boss wouldn't be a deterrent to her staying around. Sometimes people were a little put off, but he was a very hard working man, and occasionally he just had to take a break where he could get one (which wasn't truthfully very often).

"Lots of good stuff in here to browse." She said, taking the drink around the counter and moving to stand beside the woman, though not too close.

"Have you decided on a seat yet? I will bring it over for you!" The young girl said with a smile as bright as her hair color alighting her features. She could feel Beulah pulling at her for attention, like she was trying to tell her something, but Fiona tried not to get too distracted while she was at work. It was one thing to get lost in dream world when she was alone, or at home, and it was hard to block out Beulah at any point, but she had to practice it for the sake of staying conscious in what was actually going on around her physically. Though she definitely had a feeling this other woman was a dreamer as well. There must be some reason for Beulah's strive for attention.

"So I see." Amelia braced her knees to keep from jumping at the sound of the barrista's voice as it brought her back to reality. Offering the girl a small, tired smile, the brunette selected one of the older books on the nearest shelf.

"Ah, thanks." She took a seat at one of the tables, sitting so that her back was to the sunlight with an open chair between them.

After a moment, she seemed to realize that a little more conversation might be in order, and nodded to where she'd seen Fiona at the counter. "Reading one of yours, or is it from here?"

Fiona watched the other lady as she picked a book and a seat. Well, she felt sort of guilty for a moment, since she didnt -expect- people to stay, but she knew it was a nice place, so she tried to make others comfortable in it, albeit maybe sometimes she tried too hard. She shrugged a little to herself. It was nice to feel at home, if anyone knew that it was this orphan.

The bright-haired, blue-eyed girl grinned widely as she brought the drink over and set it by her customer. She looked carefully at the book, examining it. Sometimes people brought books in and left them to be set on the shelves, added to the collection. Fiona figured she would have recognized it immediately if it had been one of hers, so she shrugged lightly again and shook her head a bit. "Not mine, but I don't think I've seen it before. Perhaps another customer left it here. I usually can recognize them right away." She said with a small laugh, and she blushed a little.

"Do you live here in town?" She asked, trying not to be nosy. Though now she thought maybe she was interrupting the other from reading, which she certainly did not want to do. Fiona couldn't help her awkwardness sometimes...

Amelia found herself smiling at the girl's enthusiasm. She had an infectious joy to her that let the brunette forget about her issues for a while as she set the book down beside her.

"I'll be sure to let you know what I think of it," she promised, though her shoulders tensed again at the simple question. It could be seen as nosy to some, but in truth, Amelia didn't want the girl to know that she was homeless. The less detailed information people knew about her, the easier it was to slip through the cracks when she needed to.

"You could say that, yes." It wasn't a straight answer, but it was better than nothing. She could hear a faint sigh in response in the back of her mind from Nu'eth, though the elf did not seem as though she wished to say anything on the subject.

The young girl noticed the others' shoulders tense. Maybe she was having a hard day; Fiona tried to brush it off. It was none of her business anyways.

"Oh, that would be great!" She smiled, in response to the offer for a review of the book.

"Well, either way. I stay not too far from here, it's good for work." She said, still not one hundred percent sure on how to hold a real adult conversation. Sure, she was smart, but she was only thirteen, and that made it a little difficult for her some days. She had never really been much of a 'child' per se, but maybe sometimes she thought about quite different things than adults, especially since she was a dreamer.

"My name is Fiona, by the way." The bright-haired girl added, leaning back a little and clasping her hands in front of herself. "I've got to tend the machine, but if you'd like to talk more, I'm happy to oblige," she paused for a moment and gestured the short distance to the counters where the machines were, "It's a small shop." Fiona added again with a little wink, and she looked at the other woman for a moment with a sweet smile.

There was something about the way the girl referred to her home as a place where she “stayed, rather than lived, that caught Amelia's attention. She tilted her head to the right in a slight motion, but the moment passed before she could process a response.

“It's nice to meet you, Fiona.” Chuckling at the blatant display of how quiet the shop was, Amelia shook her head but said nothing. There was something about the girl that had her attention, though she couldn't place her finger on exactly what that was.

'Of course you know what it is. You just don't want to think about it.' The familiar sound of her Oneiros's voice echoed in the back of her mind with a soft tsk. The Averial certainly had spunk, but something about her exasperated tone caused the Dreamer to blink in surprise. She nodded at Fiona s the girl turned away with a smile, figuring she would go back to work or her book, when the realization Nu'eth had been pushing for struck her.

Fiona was a Dreamer.

Amelia had met a few other Dreamers since she'd discovered she was one, as well, but they had been brief interactions and she'd never seen any of them again. It wasn't uncommon in her mind, though, since the city was large enough to keep people separated for days on end. Still, would it hurt to find out for sure.

'Not really, no.'

“Fiona.” Well, she was already taking a few risks, so why not one more. Still, Amelia felt bad, but if she stayed in public places, then the girl should be okay. “I'm curious; do you have a dream catcher, by any chance?”

Fiona was slightly shocked at the question that this other woman was asking of her. She had met another dreamer before, but it had been brief, although they had gotten along very well. Things had not turned out the way that they seemed they were going to, but she supposed that was alright. She wasn't quite sure how to answer this other woman...she didn't even know her name...thinking back that Fiona had given hers and the others was not returned. She hesitated a moment, trying to think up what she could say. The young girl figured perhaps this was why Beulah had been vying for her attention so much since the other woman had walked into the shop.

Her boss stirred in his sleep in his chair, and she curled into herself a little bit, unsure. "Well, I think they're very lovely! I certainly do keep one above my bed. I learnt to make them once when I was younger..." She trailed off, wondering if this would hold up. Maybe not. She frowned a little and her mouth titched to the side. "Why do you ask? Do you make them? Or sell them?" She inquired, her bright eyes burning with curiosity. She felt a slight tug at her sleeve, and it was one of the first times Beulah had ever contacted her physically. She looked beside her and saw no-one, but knew what it was. She shook her head a little and turned back to the other woman.

If Amelia felt guilty about asking the girl her question before, actually doing so doubled that feeling. She offered the girl a small, apologetic smile and shook her head, hating that the vibrant girl had suddenly drawn in on herself. Was it because of her question, the brunette wondered, or the fact that the gentleman in the chair stirred and might be upset with Fiona for bothering customers?

"That sounds lovely, though I don't make them, myself." She paused, glancing at the chair where the owner remained asleep, then returned her attention to the girl when it became apparent he wasn't waking just yet.

"You have one? Have you been to the shop downtown, perhaps? There's a woman there that slls a variety of them. They're quite lovely." Again the smile, though this time it was a touch sheepish. "I have one from her, myself."

She hesitated a moment and bit her lip; Fiona was unsure what to say now. As this wasn't her first time meeting another dreamer, she figured any hint at Granny's shop must mean...well, she didn't know if anything normal came from that shop, so it must mean that this other woman was a dreamer too. Hunch confirmed.

Beulah's voice swam about Fiona's ears- "It's alright if you tell her...don't fear with this one, she won't spill the secret." and the faerie's voice faded out, Fiona didn't necessarily feel better, but she trusted the beautiful fae, and it was fair to listen to her. She had been more of a mother figure than the young girl had ever had, and if advice was given with comfort alongside, she didn't think there would be any severe consequence.

"Well, yes..." Fiona trailed off a bit, brushing her hair back, away from her face. "That is where I got mine from as well." She ended her words sort of abruptly, and then figured she might as well just go for it. It seemed by the anticipation she sensed in the other woman that the tension could be easily broken, but that was simpler thought than executed.

"So..." the bright-haired girl leaned in a little and her voice turned to a whisper, "So you're a dreamer, too, then?" Her cheeks turned a soft red blush as the words left her mouth. Hoping that Beulah was right here, because it would be rather embarrassing if this was not a correct assumption. She had to go with her gut on this one, and Beulah's guidance was as good as instinct.
