CAMPER FORM
Name: Millifred Green.
Alias: Milly.
Age: 14.
Gender: Female.
Powers: Invisibility.
Aura: Main color is lemon yellow, secondary color is ruby red. High frequency.
Appearance: What might have been a charming shade of pale blue skin is instead spotted with blotchy freckles that cover most of her face(especially the cheeks and forehead), shoulders, her back and her limbs- right down to the tips of her toes and fingers. Attempting to cover up all of the blemishes has long since become a lost cause so she adopted a preference for sweater-vests that cover much of her gross spots while still appearing dignified(with the long sleeves and collar that covers but doesn't swallow up her neck). Her elder brother seems to make them look fantastic, the outfit and freckles alike, so she's trying real hard to try emulating that confidence he seems to rock. It's a small effort to maintain a somewhat classy appearance. It's really just kind of nerdy, though. Often paired with poorly fitting pants that cling around her calves(since it's hard to find pants to fit her long legs) and her favourite yellow sneakers.
Her hair is dusty auburn(nothing real vibrant) and tied back in a short nub of a ponytail(with whatever coloured band she can find usually), but the front bangs are choppy and uneven. Not to mention the bangs are too short to be tucked behind her ears without flopping forward again. Since she has yet to find hair clips without sparkling glitter and flowery decor, she's never considered them an option for rebellious bangs. They don't obscure her vision at least: if they did she'd just take the scissors to them again to fix that.
Although her eyes are slightly narrowed(not quite slanted unless her smile pushes her cheeks up) it doesn't hide their putrid green colouring: definitely not olive, not even close to hazel. Admittedly, smiling is a thing she does often. It is not a small or quiet smile, but a broad one that sometimes twists crookedly at the edges. Especially if she picks up on someone feeling discomfort or if they're placed in an unfavourable situation, whether she had a hand in causing it or not. She doesn't always meet the eyes of those she speaks with, but when she does she sometimes forgets to blink. Because of this her eyes can have an irritated look around the edges from being so dry(something she hasn't quite picked up on yet that's actually the cause of not blinking as often). Probably going to need glasses or eye drops down the line to help sort out the strain.
Even if she has horrid posture and lets her shoulders droop way down, there's a certain pride in the way she holds her head up and chin out from her neck. Sometimes she'll catch herself crossing her arms and hastily correct this habit, not wanting to look like one of those "other sulky teens". For the most part she seems more self conscious about how she holds herself more so than her less than desirable aesthetics: feet apart when she stands, back facing toward walls when she can, preferring to stand at the edge of a group rather than surrounded by others. She's a bit lanky and tall for a girl her age, standing at 5'6" and fit, but she looks more than a bit awkward when she moves since her limbs seem so long compared to her stumpy torso.
Personality: Milly likes to consider herself as playful and encouraging, wanting nothing more than to have fun. She likes helping other people share in her fun, often in ways anyone outside of even her immediate family might suggest are violent and sadistic. She plays rough and delights in the suffering of others, rarely hiding her open glee at misfortune that isn't hers. If she's on the receiving end of unfortunate events, she tends to be a bit more sullen and withdrawn about it. Despite her somewhat volatile nature and questionable intentions she really does enjoy the company of others, and is still very self-conscious about rejection of potential friends' company or those she respects.
It is difficult to deter her once she's taken an interest in something, as she can be very stubborn and determined to get what she wants- or do some damage if she can't. She can be incredibly spiteful and jealous, but for the most part is just curious. With some less than healthy ways of expressing that enthusiasm for the world around her.
Milly tends to be a very hands on person when interacting with the world and, unfortunately, people too(and any other living creature unfortunate enough to get within grabbing range). Her hands do more talking than she does often, grabbing and pushing things around as she pleases unless given a very good reason not to(and even then it can take several attempts before she's dissuaded). She often places emphasis on random words in her speech for no apparent reason, but it's just a habit picked up from her brother. Although she can be pushy and a bully about getting her way, she can easily be persuaded into attempts at more acceptable behaviour with food- particularly sweet fruits or candies.
History: Mark and Magnolia Green worked hard to support their two children, Matthew and Millifred. It took roughly forty minutes for their parents to drive into the city from the suburbs they lived in every morning, and again in the evening. The long hours they worked often left the children in the hands of questionably negligent babysitters, and entirely too much time on their hands when they grew older. Matthew latched onto reading, gaming and inevitably the internet shortly after the family caved in to buying a computer. Milly delighted in catching bugs and running around the neighbourhood with them. Amazingly, no one seemed to appreciate her enthusiastic sharing of the grimy and slimy creatures she discovered.
Milly's childhood was an uneventful one, although her elder brother handled the lack of social interactions much better than she did. He had the glowing grace of the internet to guide him, and Milly had to entertain herself mostly(which often involved violent outbursts). She was disruptive in her younger school days without proper discipline(often being exceptionally rough with classmates), though the threat of expulsion was horrifying. The last thing she wanted was more isolation, especially where it was already hard to socialize. With great effort and several tantrums later, she began to imitate her brother. After all, Matthew was an upstanding and intelligent kid who almost never drew attention to himself. If that's what it took to stay in her classes, she had to make the effort. Very slowly, her attempts at being a civil child improved to the point that she became a tolerable menace. It was easier to develop this persona after her transition into middle school, where she was virtually unknown. More than that, she found she'd grown to genuinely admire her brother's accomplishments and tried to emulate them with mixed results. She even began to dress similarly to Matthew in these years, along with adopting some of his sayings and mannerisms.
Of course, Milly was not her brother. She still found immense joy in tormenting others just as much as hanging around with them, making for all kinds of strife during the next couple of years. During the summer she turned fourteen, an all new terror was introduced to Milly's classmates when her psychic powers began to manifest. She began phasing in and out of sight without control for short spurts of time, much to her own frustration and panic. The students who witnessed her sudden flickers were hard pressed to explain to staff what they'd seen(and thusly dismissed as nonsense). By the end of the week, Milly was coming around to the idea that this wasn't so bad after all. The look of surprise and confusion people gave was priceless, and it was harder for them to retaliate against the invisible girl. That was the only way she had to deal with the nagging terror that she might vanish for real, making sure people knew she was there.
With another two weeks she'd gained slight control over the ability, able to force the shift with enough concentration and even maintain it for a little while. Milly found herself napping frequently to make up for the energy it sapped, though that didn't seem like such a terrible thing. Even though it was beginning to have adverse effects on her sleeping habits, she was having a fantastic time frightening her peers. That is, until her very weary and concerned parents presented a peculiar brochure to Milly. They weren't oblivious to the ongoing shenanigans of their daughter, and several times now she'd unintentionally scared them quite badly with accidental bursts of invisibility(Milly hadn't even realized they were around). They'd been on the verge of contacting an exorcist when an equally horrifying explanation was given on that brochure: their daughter was probably just a psychic.
Thankfully, the paper offered a place to send their troubled Millifred that could deal with the powers her parents couldn't- and everything else, they hoped. It wasn't long before Milly was shipped off to camp, both excited and curious about the strange new world that had been presented to her.
