It was a mix of loathesome and exciting.
Loathsome because they had to leave Peder behind with someone. Exciting because they were going somewhere outside of Halloween.
Also loathsome because Endzela needed to be tucked away just so she could come along -- just not physically.
Exciting because Freya was the one going to come with him.
Basically Kettil was a ball of mixed feelings as he did a little jive of jumping from one foot to the other as if he was warming up before jumping into the portal, "Freya.. Hey. Túkut. Think we can go through the portal side by side?" He offered her his hand as he beamed a wide confident looking grin over to her.

Freya had spent so much time preparing for this moment, that she'd forgotten to relax. When they were ready to enter the Human World, she found herself staring at the portal wordlessly, shocked into awe that the moment had finally come. She was dressed appropriately - in battle gear covered by a long black shawl - and she was packed appropriately - proper historical and scary looking garb, coupled with a whole lot of little things to remind her of Peder when she got lonely for him. But mentally, emotionally, she was far from prepared. "I. I. I. I." Kettil had asked her a question, but she was stuck on the first word, stuttered over and over as she continued to stare at the portal.

Kettil had essentially dressed to match his wife, though for him he needed no momentos of their son if only because Freya was a living momento of the life they had created together and that was enough for him.
He moved and grabbed a hold of her hand when she didn't grasp his and gave her hand a small squeeze, "Take a deep breath, Screechie. We do this together, like we do everything. We will be okay."

The squeeze of his hand against hers made her repetitive stutter die on her lips, and she turned to look at him, breathing in an exaggerated deep breath. She tugged on his hand, pulling him closer until she could curl up in the arm he provided. "I knows." She whispered out shakily. "We does it together. I don't thinks I could does this without yeh, Hooter." And that was not some romantic appreciativeness - she really did not believe she could have managed to walk through this portal without Kettil at her side. He, alone, was the reason she had enough strength to continue forward, until they stood in front of it. "Okays. On three." She wanted to jump in with him, so their adventure would start forever. She bent just enough to prepare for the jump. "One.. two.." Her hand squeezed his one last time. "Three!"

There were no complaints when she tugged at him to move closer, he moved toward her obediently and wordlessly. She could hold onto as much of him as she so desired until it made her feel brave again. He leaned and kissed the side of her forehead with a small smile as he listened to her whispers, "I think y'could, but I'm honored ya want to do this together with me, Túkut." He always had more confidence in her than she had in herself.
"On three," he repeated in affirmation of her plan.
"One...two..." Another squeeze came from her hand that he reciprocated with a squeeze of his own."
"THREE!" And the two jumped through together into the human world.
Kettil felt strange and disoriented for a moment, unable to get a good look around at first.

Freya's laughter at the jump echoed even as they disappeared. When they hit ground, the world was too bright for her eyes, and her wings came around to protect her from it. Everything was loud, noisy, and obnoxious. She slowly re-opened her wings to let her eyes adjust to the bright light of human day, and stood up straight, staring open mouthed at the world around them. The buildings reached the sky, and the ground was filled with so many bustling people. She had no idea there were this many humans. Just looking at them all made her dizzy. She clung to Kettil, wrapping her wing around him protectively, and watched the world go by while they remained completely unnoticed. Unseen. No one even looked up, but even if they had, they would have seen nothing. This was the human world. "They all looks like ants." She whispered out, watching them cross streets in giant groups and walk up and down streets in a line.

Everything that went on within the time it took for them to get through and their arrival was almost too much for Kettil. He nearly dragged Freya back through were they came from but as soon as she talked he sort of calmed down enough to just stand and blink his way into being able to actually see.
"...Maybe they are part ants? Like they grew into humans cause they had to survive on only two legs or something?" Kettil wasn't exactly in the most rational of modes. The Muut squeezed the hand of the Valkyrie, "Let's go somewhere quieter and plan our next steps."
Gently he tugged at her to walk with him so that they could gather their thoughts somewhere together. "How about that alleyway?" He asked curiously as he pointed with his freehand. "Seems safe enough?"

Freya followed him numbly as he tugged her forward, finding her wits only after they'd tucked themselves into the safety of a dark and abandoned alley. She thought she'd been ready for this, but clearly it would take a little more getting used to. Her arms wrapped around Kettil, possessively holding him for support. "Two days, we gots teh bes here. Ach, I don't likes it." Everything smelled funny, and felt dirty. Something moved in the alley, and she clutched her husband tighter - but it was just a rat, which felt more familiar than any human at this point.

Kettil's arms draped around his beloved wife and he just held onto her, letting her get as much support as she felt she needed while getting support from her in return. "It certainly is lively, I'll give it that," he grinned at her trying to alleviate some of her anxiety.
"We'll get through it. I know it's gonna be tough but Team Blacke doesn't step down from challenges, right?" He squeezed her lightly, "We'll be awesome."
Kettil didn't like it here anymore than Freya did, but it was something to try to broaden their horizons amongst other reasons as well.

He was right. Team Blacke stepped down from no challenge. She mustered all of the strength she could clean from that reminder, and his arms around her, and puffed up proudly. "All rights. Let's.. let's go back out there, finds somewhere not gross teh calls home for tonight, and then.. we gets teh work. We should tries and finds somewhere busy, even though it's goings teh drives us nuts I thinks. We just needs access teh peoples we can scare."

"Yes! Somewhere not gross would be good." No one could see them so it wasn't like they could rent a room somewhere, right? Kettil sort of forgot the rules with all the fuss and kerfluffle of the Humans around them. He squeezed his wife one last time before pulling away just enough to peek out of the Alleyway as if to make sure it was safe for the both of them.
"Maybe we can find an abandoned home or something...? That wouldn't be gross right?" Kettil glanced back at Freya for approval. "Well other than being filled with human junk maybe.."

She peeked with him, and it was obvious that no one could see them, just as their instructors had said. "Ja," She still spoke quietly, just in case. "Or we can just finds a home that no one is usings at the moment, like they are on vacations or something.. anything empty will be okays." She wasn't as disgusted by the idea of human junk, if only because she wasn't familiar with what that was, and that made her curious. "Wants teh splits up and goes and looks through houses? Hah, it's like we're shoppings all over again!"

He nodded a little, "Whatever works and isn't gross, right?" Kettil could work with those sorts of standards as long as his wife was happy. He sort of froze at the idea of them splitting up. Partially because he was protective of her and another part because he wasn't so sure he'd 'okay' without her around to keep him sane.
"Mmm.. MMM..." He sort of struggled at the thought a moment.
"How far we split up?" His tone held that sort of that suggested that he'd rather not split up at all if it could be helped, "Might be safer if we just stayed together? I mean this is our first time...?"
He was having an internal struggle over the idea some more while he waited for the answer.

Freya clung to him the moment he asked the question. "No, NO, not like.. splits far, I mean like I goes to check one house, you check the one right next doors, that's all!" She loved that he seemed so reluctant to split up with her. "Keeps close enough teh hears each other scream. Not that.. anythings goings teh makes US scream.." Her smile was big and regretful.

Okay. Good. Not far. He was thinking of that solution exactly as it came out of her mouth and for a moment he beamed at her like a goof and almost mentioned that fact until he noticed something a little off about her expression.
He straightened up a bit and just sort of hugged onto her and gave her a quick kiss to fuel up his own spirit as well as hers, "No one will make us scream. Unless it's me making you scream for different reasons~," he murmured to her playfully trying to make her forget about being so nervous.
"C'mon, let's get lookin', darlin'," He pulled away enough to tug her along out of the alley, "I think i saw some houses... this way..?"
He was so lost.
