".... Are You ..." The Hunter Name: Zachariah Faulkner Nicknames: No. Gender: Male Age: 22
Category: Life - Related to "research", including research specifically OF Halloween, its specimens, and ultimately Fear and the abilities of Fear and Hunters.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? Zachariah had never had a great life to begin with.
It wasn't that he came from a bad family; his family was fine, actually, though Zachariah had always found them a little overly clingy. Zachariah had always been a little strange, talking at shadows that weren't there and obsessed with things excessively "nerdy" from even a young age, and it consequently made him a bright red target for his peers. Grammar school was filled with the infamous fights and being shoved in lockers that kids were known for, and it started to make Zachariah rather afraid of people at large.
When high school hit, it spiraled downhill.
His experiences with one particular so-called bully went far beyond the normal realm, and it forced Zachariah deeper within himself, retreating away. It made him bitter towards his family, who never noticed, bitter against his teachers, for lack of care, and bitter against society at large, for mocking his position. Having the culprit eventually put into jail did nothing for him, haunted. Applying for college was an escape for him, and his acceptance to MIT prompted him to take it, no questions asked, trying to distance himself away from his prior life as severely as possible.
Going to MIT didn't help too much. He was still empty.
In the end, when he was offered a chance to drop his life entirely and go join the Isle of Deus Ex, he really didn't care why he was joining up. Being given the chance to start over cold turkey with not a single connection from his old life was exactly what he had wanted.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Under a pair of thin-rimmed glasses are a pair of pale blue eyes which might stand to be his one defining feature. Hair Colour/Style: His hair is naturally rather dark, best described as a midnight brown. He tends to keep it cut rather short to his head. Skin Colour: Zachariah is naturally a dark olive. He's probably paler than he would normally be due to a continual lack of sun exposure. Clothing Style/Colours: Zachariah isn't really one to personalize overly much. He wears a standard trenchcoat and uses his scarf as a belt of sorts. His accent color is an ocean blue. If any of his clothing can be seen, he tends towards loose, business casual. Extra: Zachariah's legs and arms are on the slightly longer side, and in general, his build is rather on the wiry side. References: Here

"... Staring At?" "I'm working on it." -- When Zachariah wants to get something done, he'll get it done. The man has focus like none other, probably developed from hours and hours of pouring over the same mission in a video game until he gets it right, or tweaking a program over and over until it runs the way he wants it to. To say his concentration is hard to break might be an understatement with the way he works over a problem, situation, assignment, or event just for-fun task until his hand bleeds and his eyes burn. Of course, while his focus does not necessarily blind him to other tasks, the perfectionism can make him a bit slower than necessary, but never doubt that he is thorough.
"It makes sense." -- The cornerstone of Zachariah's very existence is the logic he lives by. He sees order in the things that others would find the most random, rational explanations for even the most emotionally charged of situations, and is even able to place the most complicated sequences of events into a cause-and-effect order which explains the situation from a logical perspective. In the end, to say that Zachariah's only love is logic itself may not be totally inaccurate. He thrives off order, thrives from logic, and adores a solution that just clicks with the most obvious of logical principles. Consequently, situations that cannot be solved with logic or situations that lack logic tend to cause a huge disconnect for him, eventually resulting in frustration and flustered behavior until the situation is resolved...
"I... What?" -- His mental distancing from his past has involved a lot of cutting off what would remind him of that past, perhaps as a subconscious coping mechanism. That has resulted in a man who seems almost robotic in his interactions, almost devoid of emotional response all together and confused by it when confronted by it. That isn't to say that he doesn't have emotion -- he's human. But they're buried under layers upon layers of Zachariah shielding that will require more than a hammer to bang through.
"..." -- Even before he clammed up, socialization was never something that Zachariah was particularly good at. When he was younger, they used to call him agoraphobic, but as he's grown up, it has morphed into something a bit different. While he will--barely--tolerate people in his presense, he still dislikes the presense of other humans in general, and would prefer to either function solo or function with a group that needs as minimal interaction as possible to get their active assignment done. It is strictly business with this one, and as a hunter he would probably work best in a small team or by himself. When forced to interact, he tends to get a little stony or, at his best, incredibly awkward.
"Logic would imply..." -- Does someone need his opinion? Is his help needed that badly? Is there no other option? Here's the problem: Zachariah is not at all sympathetic. Beyond the point of outright coldness, Zachariah goes to the point of attempting to rationalize any trouble he is handed, including situations with no real logic such as loss, heartbreak, and sorrow. Dog died? Health was failing, was it not? Friend experiencing a break up? Well, the friend must have done something wrong, something to make themselves no longer desirable to the focus of interest. After all, hormones only respond well when there is something attractive to the eye in ones presence, or when one has had too much to drink... Of course, this doesn't necessarily make him the best of people to go to for emotional problems, and most people who know him do eventually realize this.

"Excuse Him, He's ... Awkward!" The Weapon Name: Saraswati Nicknames: Sara, usually. Zachariah tends to call her "The Spear," which she finds irritating. Type of Weapon: Trident/Spear -- something like this? Coloration should be darker/blues and purples, though. Former species of weapon: Leviathan Gender: Female
Weapon Ability Tsunami - The Charge (T2) - Zachariah throws his weapon forward, which shoots off a blast of fear feeling similar to being washed over and drowned by water. It spreads over multiple targets.
"We'll get it done!" -- Perhaps one of the main points of commonality between Hunter and Weapon is their equivalent determination. Zachariah is determined and a perfectionist, and honestly, so is Sara. While there isn't necessarily much she can to as a weapon physically, she uses this to continue to bolster her Hunter even as their energy gets depleted. She also encourages Zachariah in his studies as a Life Hunter and generally encourages him to keep doing well.
"We need to work as a team!" -- Considering Sara is just a weapon to be wielded, the only thing she can do is try and work as a team with her partner. But even as a Halloween student, she had been a member of several sports teams, and had always been inclined towards teamwork more often than not. Her loner partner Zachariah can be rather frustrating in this fashion, considering he'd rather work with people as little as humanly possible. She thinks he's a silly boil and he needs to work with his fellow hunters a bit more!
"It hurts my heart..." -- Where Zachariah is devoid, Sara is abundant. Perhaps she does all the emoting for her partner, really, reacting almost drastically to big events and sometimes stretching herself to beyond extremes. Her heartstrings are easily tugged by seeing suffering, and she will be unusually sympathetic to Halloween creatures as a weapon if they start to get too emotional about it themselves. Zachariah finds her emotional outbursts incredibly frustrating.
