The Triumph of Christ Is The Triumph Of The Believer!
Greetings in the powerful name of Jesus!
The battle for men's souls rages all around us each and every day. We see the effects of drugs, alchohol, and sexual addictions and a breakdown of the family and a decay of moral and spiritual values.
Is it any wonder that we feel helpless and filled with anxiety and fear?
Take heart Christian, Christ was able to conquer the sins of the world, the wounds of the flesh, death on the cross, and darkness of the grave, and the very flames of hell. His victory is also our victory.
As Christ triumphed, so can we.
Before jesus ascended into heaven, He talked about His triumph over the same enemy that you and I face. The Book of matthew records these words from a 'Victorious Jesus.'
Matt. 21:42 - "Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"
Jesus paved the road that each of us as Christians, are called upon to walk. Jesus, by His royal example, poured out a blood sacrifice on the altar of heaven. It was the blood of an innocent lamb what was without spot or blemish and it was poured out voluntarily to pay the sin debt that each of us could never pay ourselves.
Why could we not redeem ourselves? Who amoung us can honestly say that we are perfect and without spot or blemish? Only Jesus, our Savior, Lord and soon coming King was worthy to give us the gift of salvation and eternal victory.
After leading His disciples for three years, Jesus left them the task of making disciples of others.
The beloved John recalled these words from Jesus in the gospel of John 16:33. "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
Fellow Christians, we will have our own problems with the world. The storms of life and some very scary challenges may confront us. Allow me to assure all of us that we can have courage and good cheer and find joy in the promise that as Jesus overcame the world, we also can claim the same victory.
We see victory in small ways each and every day. We see God's promise of redemption played out during the altar calls at our local house of worship. We see victories in the lives of people whom God has healed from serious illness or afflictions. God also blesses when we heed His call to share His Word with others.
Let us rejoice together with these words from the apostle Paul to the church at Corinth.
"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."
Let us dedicate ourselves to sharing our victory in Christ with the souls who live in the houses all around us.
Your brother in the Lord,
Philip
