"Big Things Have Small Beginnings"
" Now where to start" Kokunai said aloud trying to think on what he should begin with. "Of course you need to learn ninjutsu. You don't know any and taijutsu isn't going to cut it against everyone" Son grunted to Kokunai in a tone that was meant to obviously point out a weakness of Kokunai's. "I can't do ninjutsu, at least any elemental kind, it just fizzles out. It is as if something is impeding me. It is honestly my greatest weakness." Kokunai spoke allowing a deep sigh to exhale from his body. Kokunai hated having weaknesses and this one was for sure his Achilles heel. It was the one time in the academy he felt inferior to the other students. Kokunai was able to excel in every field accept ninjutsu and no matter how hard he tried he could not get the hang of it.
Kokunai could feel Goku stirring inside him as if something was puzzling the amazing creature that lay within him. "What are you thinking Son Goku?" Kokunai asked inquisitively, a sudden curiosity at what the beast knew. Kokunai couldn't remember Goku being puzzled before and this problem the beast was mulling over must be something truly difficult to stump Goku. "What is it? You are smarter than I am Son Goku and that's saying something" Kokunai spoke softly giving Goku a compliment as intelligence was one of the traits Kokunai was proud of the most. "Though, you have lived a lot longer than me so it is to be expect I suppose" Kokunai concluded aloud acknowledging just how the demon inside him could have attained so much knowledge.
"Quiet down Kokunai you are breaking my concentration." Goku said morely annoyed with the boys ramblings than actually distracted by them. "I am inside you, although there is a seal preventing me from escaping or taking over this body, some of my chakra does naturally leak out. It always has really, which is why you are gifted in certain aspects or have attributes that no one else has. The ability to ignite your fists is from me, your supernatural strength and reflexes are from me as well." Goku spoke as if thinking aloud to Kokunai. "Well thank you for those gifts but what does it have to do...""I'd tell you if you would quit interrupting me child!" Goku yelled inside of Kokunai. Goku's pride did sometimes give him a short temper when it came to interacting with Kokunai. Kokunai nodded signaling to Goku to proceed without future interruptions from.
"As I was saying you have been getting a small amount of my chakra over your lifetime, probably not even enough for that kage of yours to notice but still a constant trickle of it. Now if your elements and mine don't naturally mix than this would cause a great chaos when building up your chakra to perform techniques of what your natural elements are." Goku said pausing after that second to collect his thoughts and to form a conclusion. "Though there may be a solution, and you are lucky to have me for this reason." Goku said sliding himself a small compliment between thoughts. "There is another gift you receive from being my host, you gain access to the Yoton jutsu. You would never try to do these jutsu since they don't align with your natural elements but I bet with the influence from me over the years you should be gifted at them.... basically it's something even you couldn't screw up" Son Goku said obviously adding in that last comment to prevent Kokunai from thinking Goku was actually being nice to Kokunai
"That is actually a very good deduction Son Goku." Kokunai said nodding he had read all about the element combinations and knew about the Yoton type well, but it had never occurred to him that Goku's influence would grant him this tree of jutsu. "I will start off with the most basic I guess" Kokunai said, when in reality he could only remember the first few and did not want to go find the book he had read without learning them. "The first one is more of a utility but that never hurts" Kokunai spoke allowing a tone of excitement to flow his words and his body while building up chakra inside. This would be something he had never done before and the unknown excited Kokunai to know end. He finished building up his chakra and formed the seals " Yōton: Gomugenwaku no Jutsu [ Lava Release: Rubber Blinding Technique ] ' He said before taking in a deep breathe and exhaling. His stomach suddenly felt a great heat, though it did not burn and instead comforted him like the same lava he felt when visiting Son Goku. As he exhaled he felt the heat rise and come out cooling into a long rubber rope on the ground in front of him. Kokunai looked at it with excitement and picked it up throwing it around a tree branch roughly 10 feet up. Kokunai put his weight into it and stretched the rope down, when he released his pulled he was rocketed upward by the pull of the elastic material and came to rest on top of the branch. "Wow that spring constant on this material is incredibly high! It barely loses any energy throughout the whole process as well!" Kokunai explained excited beyond belief that he seemed to have such a natural aptitude for Yoton. "Thank you Son Goku." Kokunai said recollecting himself. "The kid seems to have a natural talent for the stuff. Just as I expected... Though he did pick that up faster than I thought he would have" Goku though simply letting out a soft groan to let Kokunai know he acknowledged his thanks.

Kokunai Fuwa
"Big Things Have Small Beginnings"
"So Son, what should we do Next? Do you want to train physically or mentally?" Kokunai asked aloud. Kokunai typically didn't speak allowed to Son but when alone he would preferring to speak to Son as opposed to think to him.
"Go sit down by the river and close your eyes." Son said emotionless to Kokunai. Kokunai pondered the idea for a second and then proceeded to do as Son bid. He walked over through the clearing and sat down next to the stream and then closed his eyes and began to breathe slowly. After a few moments he felt a tug and his brow began to furrow. "Get in here!" Ore shouted and Kokunai suddenly felt a falling sensation as everything went dark.
He came down onto a field of lava, he shielded his eyes and yelled as he fell, but suddenly he began to slow and Kokunai came to a stop resting on a pool of lava. Upon removing his arms from his face he looked down and saw as he was laying on top of lava. The heat was enveloping him but it did not burn, instead it comforted him. The heat seemed to relax and sooth him as he lay on it the warmth he imagined a mother would bring when she hugged her child. After enjoying the soothing warmth he stood and looked around trying to see what was going on. "What is this?" Kokunai said allowed looking around trying to see someone or something. "This is where I am while stuck inside you" Son said yelling out from something way off in the distance. "Son? You can do this? Why didn't you do it before? I could have seen you and spoken to you face to face all these years?" Kokunai said as he began to walk towards the voice.
"Of course I could, I just did not wish to see you until now, get over here" Son said as suddenly the distance between the two shrank. Kokunai was pulled forward coming to a stop in front of a large cage which inside all Kokunai could see was a pair of fiery eyes staring out at him. "Son is that you? Come out so I can see, I have never actually seen you before" Kokunai said admitting that in the books he has looked none have had a very good image of Son Goku. "Address me properly you little runt!" Son Goku said as he ran forward bashing into the cage. His intention was to intimidate Kokunai not break free. Kokunai did not step back and instead stepped forward looking upon Son Goku his eyes quite obviously filled with wonder. "My imaginations did not come close, even with the reference images they pale in comparison" Kokunai spoke touching his hand to cage. Goku recoiled at the touch as if fearing Kokunai, "Do not try to flatter me you heard what I said" Goku roared to Kokunai obviously angered by what had transpired in the kages office. "Very well Son Goku, I will address you by your full name if you address me by mine." Kokunai spoke his hand still pressed against the cage. Kokunai's encounter with Mokuba had obviously stirred some level of confidence inside him because he had never spoken to Goku like this before.
"How dare you speak to me like that you little.." Goku was cut off as Kokunai slammed his hand against the cage cutting off Goku. "How dare I?!?, you have done nothing but ridicule and insult my and those around me even since I tapped into your power when I was a child. I understand you despise me and those who put me in you, believe me I understand. I hear your hatred for them every day, I hear the hatred for you in how you speak to me everyday. I know you dislike me and I understand this is not what you want, but it can't be fixed. If I die you die, if you are extracted I will die and you will be put in someone else or go back into a sealing artifact until they can find someone. Like it or not we are stuck with each other!" Kokunai said his tone growing softer as his speech when on. He sighed stepping back and looking down at the field of lava before him.
Outside of Kokunai's mind he sat motionless as his breathing and heart rate had greatly decreased. This was more than just a sleep his vitals were closer to being in a coma than being asleep.
After a few moments of silence Goku flicked his cage creating a humming sound that got Kokunai's attention. Goku's fiery eyes peered through his bars as he lowered his massive head down to Kokunai's level, the Diameter of Goku's pupil was wider and Kokunai was tall. The fiery gaze spent what felt like an eternity just starting at Kokunai as Kokunai's emerald eyes returned the gaze. Their gaze seemed mirror one another; Kokunai's mind went blank as he stared into one of Goku's massive eyes and they seemed to reflect one another. After what seemed like another eternity Goku blinked breaking the stare, "You.... are right. I cannot believe I am saying a human had said something profound but you are correct. If you die I die and if they take me out of you, you will die and I will most likely go back into that jar an wait to either be put back into someone else or wait to be stolen." Gokua said releasing an annoyed sigh after his words. He truly hated it when a human out smarted him, and this time Gokua had let his pride dull his intellect and had gotten cornered by Kokunai.
"I... am sorry. If you address me properly I will do the same for you" Goku spoke obviously still annoyed by the situation. "Don't think this means I like you, I'm just tired of being called Son. We are not friends, though I will respect you enough to call you by your name" Goku said rising back up from being at Kokunai's level and looking down at him. "Very well Son Goku. I also apologize I did not know that it offended you. I thank you for what you have said" Kokunai said bowing to Goku knowing full well that this victory was big and he should not push his luck. "Don't think this changes anything, you're still just a human....." Goku said attempting to dissuade the moment Kokunai was trying to have. "It would appear this is effective at speaking with you.... In order to come here and see me you only need to sit down and close your eyes and breathe... I will do the rest" Goku said before pulling back into the shadows of his cage. "I will do that Son Goku" Kokunai his eyes unwavering into Goku's he could see a new level of respect. Even if Goku's pride wouldn't let him say so and even if it was a small improvement Kokunai could see it there. "So how do I retur.." Kokunai was saying as suddenly the falling sensation returned and everything once again went black.
Kokunai's whole body flinched as it felt like he fell back into his body from a two story building. "Thank you Son Goku" Kokunai whispered before standing up. He smiled at the silence from Goku he received knowing what it meant.
"You need some defense, it's the only way to keep us from getting killed" Goku said pointing Kokunai in the right direction on what jutsu he should learn next. "Well there is a technique that allows the user to coat themselves in lava. It is both offense and defensive so long as our opponent isn't a water user" Kokunai said realizing an obvious hole in their current ability set. "Regardless it is a very effective technique so I suppose that will be the one we try next." Kokunai said making his mind up. He took in a deep breathe and exhaled slowly beginning to mold and control his chakra to attempt this technique. He formed the seals and took in a deep breathe exhaling upward; Kokunai felt the heat once again as he began to breathe out lava that coated his entire body. He raised his hands up looking as he became enveloped in a warm glow of lava. A chuckle emanated outward as he pressed his palm against the ground and watched as the ground itself seemed to avoid his touch and move as the heat began to burn the ground itself. After a few minutes of testing the water of the Jutsu Kokunai smiled as the lava seemed to dissipate all on it's own signifying the jutsu had ended.

Kokunai nodded in excitement. This was the first time he had ever shown promise in ninjutsu and the ability to do so was exciting him. He could not believe he could add this to his repertoire. "I must keep going. There is no reason to stop learning new techniques" Kokunai concluded knowing the more he learned the better off he would be whenever he got into a battle. "How about something a little more deadly" Kokunai said with a bit of a smile. Kokunai wasn't a very blood thirsty person but he knew that lethality of a jutsu typically increased with the level of the jutsu.
"Ah, I remember now. There is a technique that will cause vents in the earth to form and release toxic and flammable gas, both of which could come in extreme handy against a taijutsu user" Kokunai spoke aloud multiple strategies beginning to form as he though on the jutsu. "Could you keep it down, you're ramblings are beginning to get annoying" Son Goku said in protest of Kokunai speaking so much. Goku did have a point, Kokunai's intellect did lead him to ramble sometimes and with Goku being a spectator 24/7 it could certainly become an annoyance.
Kokunai dipped his head in agreement acknowledging his demons request. He began to walk away from the stream not wanting the fumes to poison the water that he planned on swimming in after he concluded his training. The wind was also helping him as it would send the noxious fumes into the forest, which was not a significant improvement but the gusts should dissipated it and prevent any fatalities of wildlife.
Kokunai found the perfect spot and began to once more mold his chakra. He could always have control over it, but when it came time to cast a jutsu Kokunai's would always fizzle out. It only made sense something was interfering with it which didn't bug him in the least as Son Goku seemed to give Kokunai more blessings than curses. After a few moments of building and molding his chakra Kokunai began to form seals, " Yōton: Kazan no Kakō [ Lava Release: Volcanic Vents ]" Kokunai said holding the final seal.
Kokunai watch as the ground beneath him seemed to burst asunder. Holes roughly 3 meters in diameter began to expel noxious fumes upward, Kokunai jumped back coughing as a rough gust blew some in his direction. " Definitely lethal if exposed to for a prolonged time" Kokunai concluded watching more gas than he expected to spew out. It was definitely a double edged sword and one Kokunai would have to think deeply about before using. If comrades were stuck downwind they could easily fall prey to it as we well.

"Big Things Have Small Beginnings"
Kokunai sighed as beads of sweat began to dance down his brow. Learning these jutsu were beginning to drain his chakra, he would only be able to learn a couple of more techniques before having to take a break. "Pure offense now let's get this done before I need a break." Kokunai said motivating himself to continue. This was beginning to drain on him but he would not quit.
Kokunai walked back into the clearing and faced a tree making it his intended target. Goku remained silent as he did often, there was usually no need to interact with Kokunai and Goku often preferred to keep to himself. Kokunai spend a few moments refreshing his memory on how to perform the jutsu before beginning to mold and form the chakra.
Kokunai took in a few deep breathes slowing his heart rate to allow for better control and formulation of his chakra. He knew the less chakra he had the longer it would take to build and mold it. He glanced back at the spring knowing his respite would come soon enough and the longer he trained the better the cool spring would feel.
He began building and molding the chakra preparing to begin his next training exercise. He knew that this would be a good versatile move and would add range to his attacks which was something he desperately needed. After a few moments of building up chakra he smirked knowing he had the stored chakra to perform the jutsu.
Kokunai formed the seals at a moderate speed never really being a master at forming seals. After forming the last one he released the chakra and raised his left arm. He watched the pores on his forearm as lava began to seep out of them slowly. After a few second the glow began to fade and Kokunai knew that the jutsu was ready. Returning his gaze to the tree Kokunai swung his arm down rapidly and watched as ten dagger sized obsidian shards erupted forth and dug themselves into the tree in front twenty yards away. Upon closer inspection Kokunai could see the shards dug in more than three inches signifying to him that they would in fact be lethal if making contact with vital spots on the body. Sweat was now forming rapidly and his breathing had began heavy. Kokunai could tell the next technique he learned would unfortunately have to be that last for this training session.

Kokunai's panting began to slow as he tried to slow his heart rate so that he could perform the final technique. He was doing well with Yoton but because this was a complicated element there were no low ranking techniques makes this style of ninjutsu quite costly for someone of such a low rank. "Just one more, then you can go jump into the springs over there and cool off." Kokunai concluded a smile on his face knowing how good the cool water would feel as having such a hard training session.
Kokunai then nodded in agreement of his own thoughts as he once again walked out to pick out the perfect spot to cast the justu. Once finding a nice clearing near the spring Kokunai began to build what little chakra he had left determined to keep his resolve strong so that he could become the strongest shinobi in all of iwagakure some day. He knew this was what he wanted and he couldn't think of any better way to do it. His eyes went skyward for a few moments looking up at the starry sky intently, he had been training all day and now into the night. As his eyes watched the dancing flickers of light he began to think of all those who looked at him and feared him or whispered monster as he went by. Normally those thoughts would dishearten him but now they were somehow motivating him.
The thoughts were stirring something deep inside Kokunai giving him motivation to continue and press forward. The voice began to join together as they were all echoing out curses and derogatory remarks but somehow they were acting as praise to Kokunai. His smile began to grow and his fist clenched as the little chakra he had left was building and molding with a decent level of control. He continued to build and mold this chakra knowing it was going to have to be all he had left in order to perform the jutsu. "Here we go" Kokunai whispered as he pressed his hands together preparing to start.
"Do not overdue it boy. If you try to spend more chakra than you have you could pass out or die. That coupled with the jutsu not performing properly could have nasty effects" Son said from within Kokunai not wanting to die himself, especially from something so stupid as his host over exerting himself. "That is why you are here. If I pass out that isn't so bad and if I get close to death you will lend me some of your chakra or take over for a bit and I won't die." Kokunai concluded in a very calm tone while having a hint of appreciation laced in.
"What makes you think I would just willingly lend you my chakra like that? Son grunted his tone more filled with intrigue than annoyance. "I am not some reserve for you to come and borrow from whenever you need!" Son said more anger in his voice this time as he began to think Kokunai was trying to abuse Son being trapped inside. "I believe that you will because of what happened earlier" Kokunai said as his mind went back to when he touched his hand to Sons cage and then after when the two began to inspect one another for the first time.
"We are not so different. Both intelligent, proud, and strong beings. I will admit my traits my not be in the same plane as yours but they are still there. Whether or these traits in me have come to be so strong because of you I cannot say, but we still have many similarities. I know you still don't like me that much, but I am willing to bet my life you like me enough to save it" Kokunai said the last part of his sentence taking on a much more gracious note. Kokunai had expressed a level of trust in Son that he hadn't ever before and wanted to see how the demon would react.
Kokunai feel Goku's emotions stirring inside during the silence that followed. Kokunai knew what that silence meant it had only happened a few times in Kokunai's entire life but it was a very reassuring silence. Goku typically went silent when his pride would prevent him from admitting Kokunai was right, which to Kokunai so far was the best feeling he could get from the demon. "Right so then let's get started" Kokunai said rubbing his hands together in excitement. This would be the hardest Kokunai had ever trained and he couldn't wait to finish this session so he could attempt to surpass it in the next one.
He performed the seals taking his time to ensure they were properly formed and held the last one. "Here goes nothing!" Kokunai said holding the final hand sign " Karyoku Bunshin no Jutsu [ Volcanic Earth Clone Skill ]" Kokunai said releasing the chakra he had stored. He glanced over to his left watching as the ground hissed and writhed as something began pulled itself from the earth. A smoldering volcanic version of Kokunai wriggled free of the earth's grasp and stood motionless next to him. Kokunai could see what the clone saw and knew he had control over it. He watched as the clone walked over and touched a tree seeing the tree begin to smoke and recoil from the touch as the heat coming off the clone was beginning to burn and strip away the bark.
"This is amazing!" Kokunai exclaimed between pants as he then remember that the clone itself could perform a single jutsu before only having physical capabilities. Kokunai took a few weary steps back and watching as the clone formed some seals. Suddenly small fissures formed in the earth and spewed forth high temperature gas. The gas blew towards the clone and once coming in contact ignited the gas sending out a massive explosion and volcanic rock from the clone out in all directions. The force knocked Kokunai back who was far too weak to stay on his feet. With an oof Kokunai skid against the ground a few meters before coming to a stop. "You idiot" Son said in between chuckles laughing at Kokunai's ability to become a ragdoll with such ease.
"I'm glad you found that funny" Kokunai said with a soft chuckle as he struggled to get to his feet. Once standing up Kokunai's vision began to spin and blur. He stumbled forward now panting heavier as he knew he would lose consciousness soon. Kokunai had calculated out his chakra level and used just enough so that he wouldn't die but simply pass out. He slumped over to the tree and laid beneath it looking up at the night sky as the lights above him began to spin and blur together. "You're.... in...charge... until I ... com back" Kokunai whispered aloud to Goku as Kokunai's eyes slowly drifted off and with it his consciousness. "Such a foolish child. If I didn't enjoy this silence so much I would probably go and cause some havoc" Goku said inside his cage, rationalizing his decision to not take over Kokunai's body. A small amount of chakra leaked out and went to Kokunai's body. Goku wouldn't let the boy know he helped him, but Goku for some reason couldn't help himself. The chakra itself was an incredulously small amount but big things have small beginnings.

"Big Things Have Small Beginnings"
"Oi... get up, you are going to sleep forever" Goku yelled inside Kokunai's body trying to stir him from this sleep. It was quite obvious Kokunai had slept a lot longer than anticipated but who could blame the boy after using up almost all of his chakra to learn new jutsu. Kokunai's eyes slowly rose open and his vision came into view, his whole body coiled as he stretched waking himself and his muscles before rising to his feet. "That was a fantastic night of sleep" Kokunai said scratching his stomach as he looked around trying to get his bearing. "Maybe for you, get some food Kokunai, that damn stomach of yours won't stop grumbling" Goku said in a huff. Kokunai's stomach must have heard as it groaned in detestation at that very moment.
Kokunai bent over obviously in a bit of pain from the stomach cramp he was so obviously suffering from. "How astute Goku, very well I will get some food and then find a quiet place to relax so that you can have a break from me" Kokunai said with a chuckle. Goku had been abnormally polite since Kokunai spoke with the kage and Kokunai wanted to express his thanks. Kokunai turned and strode off in search of some grub.
