He stretched folding and touching his toes then leaning back cracking his back and spinning side to side, he continued by stretching his arms behind his head then folding and pulling his legs behind his back. He was not sure what to teach the boy first, or rather if he should test him first. Kokunai strode into the training grounds and stopped hesitantly looking down at the ring Rin had drawn, "Perhaps this means we are sparring..." Kokunai contemplated the purpose of this ring before stretching a bit and stepping inside.
The moment his foot crossed the line his stance immediately changed. His legs widened just outside shoulder width and his knees bent slightly indicating he was preparing to react as opposed to strike. His stance was obviously defensive and in Kokunai's opinion was the smartest stance for him to take when facing an opponent who was clearly stronger than himself. Kokunai intently watched Rin waiting for any signs of an attack so he could dodge or counter in turn. Chakra was beginning to build on instinct knowing he have to act quickly if he wanted to hold any chance against this opponent.

He could feel the boy's chakra, "You obviously know the position you are in. I like your style. This ring is more than just a chalk line on the concrete, it is a line in which you have to make me cross. If I leave the circle then you win, you are allowed to leave the circle if need be, use any technique in your arsenal, you just need to make me leave the circle." Kokunai's eyes widened seeing Rin's arm blur, he quickly dove to the side rolling as he did. He narrowly escaped the kunai only getting a small cut on his left shoulder. Once getting back to his feet Kokunai built up chakra and formed hand seals. Holding the final one he exhaled slowly releasing the chakra built up. Heat began to permeate out of the ground next to Kokunai as a molten copy of himself wriggled free of the grounds grasp. The clone stepped into the circle with Rin as Kokunai moved around behind the clone intentionally obstructing Rin's view of Kokunai and offering up the volcanic clone as Rin's new target.
Kokunai began building up chakra while his volcanic copy stood motionless heat radiating out at an impressive rate. The clone would burn Rin if Rin made physical contact with it and Kokunai was well aware of this fact. Kokunai's mind was attempting to formulate a strategy he was hoping he would be able to drive Rin from the circle rather quickly and show he had some sort of potential. "I think I know what to do new but it all depends on how he reacts. If he moves too aggressively he could foil my plan" Kokunai pondered this idea while trying to leave Son Goku out of this. He did not wish to rely on him in this fight and hoped Goku would respect this wish and not try to interfere.

He typically only felt such an increase in heat when his explosions would go off. He seen the clone and knew right then the boy would use the clone to get the upper hand on him. The boy was a quick thinker, but Rin's pure experience alone made him a great mind in battle, however he wasn't so smart outside of battle. He made a few handsigns as fast as they were they were only about chunin level in speed and expertise, this was his downfall. He pointed past the clone, making it seem as if his target was not the clone at all. He took in a slight breath only to spit and in a split second a bullet of water raced from his mouth towards the clones forehead. It was a fast technique, and with it being so concentrated it would be harder to evaporate. This was not aimed to hurt the boy only the clone, if it hit or not he would still be standing in the same spot as when the spar had started. The clone began to duck but was slow on the draw and the shot of water connected at the top of it's head knocking the clone to the ground, the concussive impact send a hiss of boiling water in all directions as the volcanic clone was just hot enough to withstand and melt the water bullet Rin had unleashed. The clones incredible defense was exactly why Kokunai had chosen this technique and it slowly began to rise.
Kokunai finished building up his chakra and bounded back forming handsigns while the clone began to rise. The hand signs were also slow showing a mutual weakness between the Rin and Kokunai. Kokunai held the final sign with a smirk releasing the chakra, "Let's see if this works." He mused as suddenly between Rin and the clone the ground began to shake and hole 3 meters in diameter opened, spewing forth blazing hot gas. The gas had a funny smell and an ominous look as it discharged from the chasm. Kokunai's clone stepped forward reaching out for the gas in an obvious attempt to make contact with it.

He was interested in seeing what would transpire. As the ground shook and gas raised from the hole he was aware of the technique but had never seen it in person, the clone went to make contact with the gas. He smiled, he didn't want the clone doing the dirty work. He wanted Kokunai to be in a situation where he needed to use all his skills together in an attempt to get Rin to move. Slamming his hand on the ground he aimed at the clone, with the technique Kokunai used the ground was already unstable, this caused a rift to open up and caused the new technique to be submerged in the earth. Since the clone had been heading towards the hole the clone would be effected by the rift as well. This would again leave it between Kokunai and himself. He was interested to see how Kokunai would react to this turn of events. The boy was far from out of chakra, and he figured the boy would still have a trick or two up his sleeve. Rin still standing in the original position smiled the boy was peaking his interest. [ＯＯＣ╏Thats fine, I just wanted to make sure you are keeping track of what is going on in the battle with you posting layout. The clone is fine, I knew it wasn't going to destroy your clone, I just wanted to attack it in general.]
The rift opened dropping the clone and a good portion of the gas sucked down with it rushing to meet the void that was not originally there. The clones volcanic hand made contact with the gas and ignited to gas causing what would have been a perfect explosion. Rin's moved had sucked most of the gas below ground only causing the rift to grow by about a meter in either direction and preventing any of the explosion to happen above the rift.
"Clever man, should have opened the vent under the clone. I'll have to do that next time" Kokunai thought now a clear line of sight to his opponent. "You should just stop messing around and take him out." Goku uttered in protest already bored of Kokunai's performance. "The man outclasses me by several fold. I cannot simply take him out. Plus you do not wish to lend me your strength so it would only lead to my defeat quicker" Kokunai thought preparing his next attack. The rift now in the middle of the circle was surprisingly interesting and could add another level of difficulty.
"Very well Kokunai, seeing as how your odds are so dismal I will allow you to use a bit of my strength" Goku said with a reluctant sigh ending his statement. "At will you will be able to ignite your fists and it will give them a much greater strength, you will still be outclassed by this man most likely, but it is just pitiful watching you being so easily foiled" Goku said softly before returning back to his depths.
Kokunai smirked all of a suddenly an unnatural level of confidence emanating out of him. His fists clenched and with it they suddenly ignited bursting aflame. Kokunai rushed to his right circling around the rift before launching himself at Rin. Kokunai wanted to see how this mans taijutsu was and even if Kokunai lost there was no harm in trying. His left fist rocketed forward aiming to catch Rin dead center in his chest his flaming fist emanating an abnormal heat forth obviously not your typical jutsu.

If this was indeed what the boy wanted to be good in then he was happy that the boy was confident enough to attack head on. The boy was fast for a genin in fact he was about the same speed as Rin when he was a genin. He knew the kid had potential, with the Yonbi in him he would only get more dangerous in time. The boy's frontal attack had heat emitting from his left hand as it neared Rin used his own reflexes to avoid the attack. This would position the boy behind him, instead of turning around he closed his eyes and focused on the heat, this would be a tell tale sign he was attacking. If he was facing another genin the fight would have most likely ended by now, the boy had a lot of potential and his taijutsu nearly rivaled that of Rin's at his age. He was happy that another taijutsu specialist was in the village, it made it easier on him to train them if they needed help. Kokunai's eyes widened as his punch clearly missed. He was slightly surprised expecting Rin to block the attack instead of simply dodging it. Kokunai opened his right hand dissipating the flame and whirled turning and throwing his weight into his punch as his left hand swung around aiming to connect the flaming fist into Rins back. As he did this Kokunai's right hand reach around into his back pouch and was digging for something, "He's much faster than me, as anticipated. I'll have to try and distract him with this and hopefully catch him off guard" Kokunai thought hoping some sort of plan would come to him. He couldn't help but smile, even though Rin was simply toying with him this was the most fun Kokunai had had in a long time and it was refreshing to just be able to let go and enjoy the moment.
His right hand was clearly gripping something as it slipped free of his back pouch but the clenched hand was obscuring whatever was inside. His left flaming fist was rocketing forward as his right moved down toward Rin's hip reaching out not to punch the hip but simply make contact.

He felt the boy touch his hip, he was not sure what the meaning of it was but in that instance out of instinct he threw a kick to the lunging boy's mid section, it was not infused with chakra simply it was meant to place a little distance between them. He lowered his leg back to it's original position, but didn't think any more into the touch, considering he thought it was more or less the boy stumbling into the attack and trying to keep his balance. He stood in place, putting his hands in his pockets and waiting for the boy to make another move. As Kokunai's hand made contact with Rin's hip it opened seeming like simply his open hand was placed against it to steady contact, his left did not even make it to the intended target as a foot whirled around catching Kokunai dead center in the abdomen. The fire dissipated as soon as Rin's foot caught him and the boy was knocked off his feet and skid across the ground rolling twice before coming to a stop. Kokunai slowly rose coughing hard obviously having the wind knocked out of him from the blow, "I can't focus so much on my attacks like that, I let my guard down" Kokunai thought rubbing his stomach hoping to stimulate air to return to his lungs and the pain to subside. Kokunai simply stood in his same stance behind Rin not advancing for some reason as his eyes intently watched Rin's hip looking at the place he had touched. There was a small strip of paper now on Rin's hip it had some sort of writing on it and Kokunai knew exactly what it was.
"Boom" Kokunai whispered as suddenly a hiss would be heard on Rin's right hip it was an odd hiss as if the paper was burning and when Rin would look down he would see it in fact was. Kokunai had an explosive tag in his right hand and had intended to plant it on Rin instead of trying to connect his punch. Rin's kick had actually knocked Kokunai just out of range of the blast. Kokunai watched now studying his master trying to see just what would be done to avoid this oncoming blast.
