Rules Only naturals accepted. Natural horse colors. Just to add to the atmosphere of the desert. All species accepted, otherwise. Including Nova. See below for details. This includes yellows, red, pale blue, and pale pink. Blue and pink to reference the roan color of horses. If the Star has unnaturals in small douses, they'll be fine. If the color of a Star is mostly unnatural, they'll be demoted to the lowest rank. I would rather this exception be for the children of those Stars with small patterns of unaccepted colors. For winged equines, natural bird colors are accepted. For tropical birds.
List of Colors Orange = Chestnut Red = Blood Bay Brown = Bay, Brown, Liver Chestnut Yellow = Palomino White = White, Grey Paints/Spotted = Paints, Appaloosa Pale Pink = Strawberry Roan(Chestnut coat with individual white hair making it look reddish/pink) Pale Blue = Blueberry Roan(Black coat with individual white hair making it look blueish) Black = Black
Basically, green and purple are the two not allowed. In small portions, like a slight marking only 25% of the Star is fine.
Ranks are not perm. Ice and I are very RP intensive. We love plots. Most ranks will be given depending on the foal or newcomer's bloodlines, but it is possible, with lots of RP, to raise in the ranks like a real royal court. You don't have to RP often, though, if you don't want to. All those ranks do open up nice plots. For example, a character could rise to the status of noble if they appealed to Shah Ryar and Scheherazade by proving themselves worthy to marry into the family.
This is not a hell on earth for females. Lets just make that clear. Yes, it is strict and yes, mares are thought mostly as lesser beings. But some already have proven they can rise above this status or take it to their advantage. Quyen has risen as a perm member of the Royal Guard and Scheherazade herself uses her sex to her advantage. Not all of the orders issuing from Shah Ryar are really all from him.

Background And Setting Shah Ryar Stuff here.
Scheherazade Stuff here.
In The Beginning Stuff here.
The Oasis A large area of lush plants, centered by a large lake. Because it lies in the middle of a vast desert, there aren't many animals, insects, or birds living here.
The lake is fed by an underground tunnel, making it possible for Nova to easily come and go.

Culture And Expectations I will expand on these eventually.
Mating And Families Nobles are expected to choose their mates carefully. Someone who would add to the bloodline, both in personality and color. Males don't want a female who will cause their family shame. They need to be obedient to their husbands at all times. Females are expected to stay chaste and pure until they marry, no matter their rank. Failing to do so will not earn a good reputation with the rest of the herd and may cost her a good marriage.
When it comes to flings, what the lesser ranks do is their own business. A female who doesn't keep herself pure may face being disowned by her family. 'Specially if she's a noble. Noble males are also not allowed to engage in their desires, as this may result in foals to disgrace his family. The punishments could be the same as a female, depending on the family.
Unnatural Colored Foals Unnatural foals with wings like a bird are safe. They represent tropical birds. Foals with odd coloring and no feather wings, should they decide to stay with the herd, will be demoted to Commoner, no matter their bloodline.
Education Stuff here.
Religion Stuff here.
Females Vs Males Males are, as you can plainly notice, the dominate sex. They make all the decisions. Get any rank they want(with work, if they weren't born into it). Get less punishments for doing something wrong. More freedom. You get the picture.
The ideal female is submissive and doesn't argue back when her mate makes a decision. The most control they'll have in their lifetime is over the lives of their children. Child bearing and rearing is solely a woman's job. Father's will want what's best for their children and will teach them different things the mother can't. But most of the duty will be hers. How a female behaves is more important than a male. She's expected to stay chaste until she finds a mate. No male wants an impure bride.
This doesn't necessarily mean the females are disrespected, of course. Shah Ryar himself sometimes goes to his Queen seeking her council.
Changing Your Rank Foals are born into their ranks, often taking after the father's. The father's blood is what matters most. However, if an adult wishes to change their rank, they'll have to appeal to the King, proving to him he is worthy of taking a higher status. For females, doing this is easier by mating a good stallion who can take them higher.

Herd Ranks Shāhanshāh & Banebshenan banebshen - The Monarchy
These are the heads of the herd, they have the absolute judgement of everything that happens in the herd. These ranks are locked to all those outside the blood line. Once the bloodline is larger and the sons have taken wives and had children of their own another Rank will be added for the nobles of the family.
King of Kings: The dominant ruler of the herd, he makes all the decisions about everything, though he will seek council of his vizier. He won’t often seek the council of his queen, for it would make a king seem weak. Everything the king decides is final and refusing to listen is cause for extreme punishment. Queen of Queens: Although she is in the monarchy she has very little say on how things are done aside being the consort of the king and the mother of his children. Though sometimes, the king may seek her council he would first often seek the council of his Vizier first. Heir: First born male of the family fills this position; he has many responsibilities as his father tries to prepare him for his eventual succession into being the Ruler of the herd. He has more rights than his mother and will often watch his father while being counselled by his brothers. Prince: These are the remaining princes often given duties that don't belong to the heir. Sometimes a prince will become the vizier other times they will just live with the royalty dealing with simple matters. Princesses: The lowest rank of the monarchy they have little to no duties except to be married off to promising young noblemen to bare children and increase the size of the noble family.
Atorbanan - The Priests
The religious backbone of the herd all is run through the Vizier, he and his priests see to everything about religious affairs. They are also the main healers of the herd and gatherers of herbs and other such supplies. This section is mostly male.
Vizier: This is a male only rank and there will only ever be one. The vizier is councillor to the king of kings along with being the only high priest of the religion. He is well trusted and very respected and will have more say than the queen in matters of state. Priests/Priestesses: they worship the god and make sure such matters are taken care of under the direction of the Vizier. Both male and female may apply for this position though mares are looked down upon for this rank. They are also the healers if the herd. Priest/Priestess Apprentices: The young apprentices of the priests learning all they can to eventually once they are grown become priests themselves.
Arteshtaran - The Warriors
The warriors and protectors of the herd mostly male in composition as mares aren't accepted the same on the battlefield that's stallions work. They protect the borders of the herd from attack and the royal family from assassination and they are expected to lay down their lives for the herd.
Spahbod: Literally Army Master, these are the starborn that reside over most of the military affairs. This is a male only rank and there are only two of them to lead the full army. These two males are handpicked by the King of kings. Royal Guards: These are the guards trusted to protect the royal family above all else they are trusted by the king himself and handpicked and under direct order of the King of kings. There are a max of 6 Total and are all males. Warriors: the base of the army, they can be male or female but the female warriors are greatly looked down upon by their male counterparts. They don't like mares fighting at all. Trainees: The future of the army, the young will train to become full fledged warriors upon entering adult hood. You cannot apprentice to become a royal guard or spahbod. Royal Escort:This is a temporary escort for the queen, once Shahryar has more sons it will vanish and his sons will be charged with taking care of the queen. There will be 2-3 mares who protect her knowing a few self defence moves and are to protect the queen with their very life.
Dabiran - The Trades
The lifeline of the herd, being in a desert oasis traders are valued for the supplies they bring back and the artisans for creating such things to trade. Their merchants must entice those from far away to come and trade with them to keep the herd thriving. Mares are looked down upon doing any of these things.
Merchants: Stationary traders, they will exchange goods at a set location, as they lay out their wares. Both male and female may take this rank though once more mares are looked down upon here. Traders: These are like mobile merchants going from place to place trading the goods from each merchant. Often excellent hagglers and usually coming back with more than what they left with. Both male and female may take this rank though once more mares are looked down upon here. Artisans: These are the artistic merchants creating what they can and selling it. These pieces are often more beautiful and usually these things get traded to the larger merchants. Both male and females may take this rank and more females seem to prefer this rank to the others receiving only a little less discontent from male counterparts. Trades Apprentices: The young who wish to become tradesmen will learn from one of the above and upon becoming an adult receive that rank.
Vasteryoshan-Hootkheshan - The Commoners/Serfs
The Commoners and the serfs are the lowest rankings of Anuyidan'Danayi. Here most of the females will reside taking care of children and helping with childbirth and dancing for the pleasure of the higher classes or serving.
Entertainers: self explanatory rank, a mostly female rank as they are called upon often to entertain those of higher rank. Starborn of this rank are usually extremely beautiful male or female. Caretakers: These are the commoners that take care of the young like nannies and are hired for their skill with children. They also help with childbirth. This is an all female Rank and will be the only one. Commoners: These are just members who have chosen no special rank and the most common rank of the herd. Serfs: The servants to the rich, king, vizier nobles and some rich merchants. Apprentices: The lowest of apprentices lie here, and they will train to be either serfs, dancers or caretakers. Or simply take a commoners rank when they grow. Foals: When they are born they have yet to choose a rank, upon adolescence they are required to choose an apprenticeship according to the rank they were born into.
