Time moved differently inside these walls. The second hand ticked to the beat of the music and life was set to the pace of a hard bass line. The moment that Zoe passed the gaping entrance of the club, her skin had been set abuzz by the energy pouring out of the bodies that swayed and dipped to the hypnotic melodies. She had been drawn to the eclectic dance floor before she had her first thought of alcohol. It swallowed her in seconds. She didn't know how long she'd been there when she separated herself from the crowd and crossed the room to the bar. Her fingers were busy readjusting her skirt and making sure the short wisps of her bright bob were still in place as she walked. Finally content with her appearance, she fished a bill out of her clutch and leaned into an open space against the granite top, waiting for the bartender to notice her. He was busy whirling between one drunken guest and the next, so she let her gaze slide away to the room around her instead. She liked to know her surroundings, especially now that she was aware there were scarier things in the world than drunk frat boys. It seemed to be an old warehouse repurposed for an edgy, underground feel. It wasn't fancy, but it was finished, and the atmosphere was one that really encouraged people to let loose. There were no true regulars yet, though she had been on several occasions herself since it opened and she recognized people from her distant circle of connections. There was also an emergency exit glimmering dully in the corner, she noted. "Hey!" Someone shouted in her ear. When Zoe turned her bright gaze back, she was surprised to see the bartender staring at her with an expectant look on his face. He was much faster than she expected. Her glossy lips curled into a smile and she leaned a little farther forward to speak, earning her a comfortable grin from the sandy-haired fellow. He was used to girls flirting with him to get what they wanted. How quaint. "A ginger whiskey, dear. Top shelf, please." She wasn't some bimbo with no money to spend - if she was going to drink, it would only be the best this place could offer. If he was surprised by it, he didn't show it. He simply disappeared to do his work with a polite nod and she contented herself with drumming a foot against the bar rail while she waited. Men passed by, some with lingering eyes and others with cat calls. Neither seemed to impress her much and her face certainly did not say please come hit on me more. Drunken idiots only ever wanted one thing and she was certainly not the type to stoop so low. Despite her typical club outfit, she seemed to be here for different reasons than most girls sporting tiny skirts and killer heels. Zoe always did everything with a purpose, even if that purpose was just forgetting a war she'd never asked to be a part of. Fiction1119 Sorry that took so long! <333 Let me know if I need to change anything.

Felyn edited it a bit... sorry about the original small post. it looked alot bigger on my phone ^.^' Quinn wanted to get his mind off of everything so he went out clubbing. He was hoping to get lost in the beat of the music and forgotten in the flow of the bodies as they swarmed the dance floor, rather then getting his butt handed to him in a fight that he never wanted to join. How does one turn down the possibility of being a superhero? Its easier to turn away the drunk girls that hit on him then to turn down his friends when they ask for his help... And after months of pretending the whole cowboy shtick was a dream he got sucked into a fight when he saw two long haired biddies picking on two other people, one a girl who looked like she could use the help, so now he could no longer deny the existence of Order and Chaos nor the fact that he was a Knight for Order.... but he would damn well do his best this night. He had already been to a few places that night already when he stepped foot into the new club. His faded black jeans, the simple black t-shirt with the dark blue silk shirt open wasn't really the normal clothing for clubbing but Quinn really enjoyed going out to clubs when he could and was known in the local places. The old warehouse had been converted to a pretty interesting place, not that Quinn had been there before, so it was a bit harder for him to get in with his outfit but one flash of his ID, to prove he was of drinking age, got him through the door. He was sucked in to the music and the dancing, so it was only after he realized how thirsty he was that he separated himself from the floor to head over to the bar. He was able to slide into an empty space next to a young woman in a black and peachish ensemble, Quinn nodded in greeting before waiting for the bartender. He was debating on if he should talk to her but decided against it since he watched as she brushed off the few comments and looks she already received, besides Quinn thought the cliche pickup lines were pretty sad. His favorite was more of a retort that he heard a girl use to brush off some guy a few clubs back, 'Fall from heaven? No dear I clawed my way up from Hell', if Quinn had been drinking anything more then some water he would have still been choking on laughter as it was he got a evil eye from the guy and a comment about how kids shouldn't be let into adult clubs. He wasn't interested in alcohol then and he wasn't interested in it right now either, he was worried what he would say without knowing it, but he would kill for some water right then. He was able to make his request when the young guy brought the lady her drink. Quinn got a strange look but the sandy haired bartender willingly took his cash and passed him a bottle of water. There was a time and a place for good scotch but nursing it while the music throbbed around hi was not what Quinn was looking for at that moment. "'In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.'" Quinn smiled and toasted the bartender's back before breaking the seal and taking a large swallow of the cold liquid. "I wonder what good ol' Ben would think of water now" he mused out loud as her turned around to watch the room.

Zoe didn't miss the boy as he stepped up to the bar. Her gaze drifted over his lackluster outfit and she promptly dismissed him, unimpressed. Her pinky ring probably cost more than his whole ensemble. It was only when the bartender came back around with her drink that she really took the time to consider him. She handed the bartender her payment, with a generous tip, and glanced sideways at him as he stepped up for his turn. He ordered a water, unusual by itself in a place like this. A man that chose to keep his head instead of drowning it like a frat boy too afraid of letting his cup run dry? Intriguing. She drummed the black tips of her nails against her short, squat glass in consideration as she drew it to her lips and took a sip. The glass rested at lip level for a moment, letting her study him over the polished rim. One bottle of water did not a scholar make, but that quote was thought provoking. The music overhead rang out in an upbeat pulse, earning cheers from the crowd of half wits around her as they all cheered on the DJ's choice. Zoe's heart called her to the dance floor but she wasn't going to risk spilling her drink. She had time to talk, at least until she was done or he bored her to death. The twenty-something brought her drink down to waist level, held lightly between careful fingers, and tucked her clutch beneath that arm to free the other hand. As the crowd around them thinned out slowly in favor of the already packed dance floor, she took a few careful steps toward Quinn and held her hand out in a pointed greeting. "Zoe." Her eyes locked his, daring him to ignore her boldness. Fiction1119 It's okay, I am have just had a bit of a busy week! Sorry <33

Felyn yeah ive had quite a few weeks like that.... im not sure what other clubs there might be in the city so if you want to mention a few or just assume we can go with that too ^.^' he really does go out quite a bit so he likely would have seen her at least in passing in a few places Quinn watched as the mass headed back to the floor and surprisingly he was glad he wasn't one of them right then as he saw the girl from before took a few steps toward him and introduced herself. He's had others strike up conversations, most with stupid openings, but such a matter a fact introduction was not something hes experienced before. He smiled, with his moss green eyes and dirty blond hair the smile really brought out the laid back surfer dude vibe. He squashed the urge to answer sarcastically… although that was still on the proverbial table, instead he loosely held his water down by his side and took her hand lightly. “Quinn.” She seemed familiar but he couldn’t really place it. It might have only been in passing on the street or a store. Maybe in one of the bars or clubs near the college or she could have been at one of his folk’s shindigs. He had recognised the quality of the jewelry and the clothes, even if he didn’t bother to worry about it for himself. It was entirely possible that he had seen her at one of the numerous Quinton benefit. It was too cliche to ask if they had met before but fortune favored the brave so with a sheepish smile Quinn asked, “I swear its not a line, but have you ever been to Ocean's Favor by the DCU?” It might be too kitschy place for such a put together woman but it was one of his more common hangouts since his classmates went there after the day’s classes were done for the day, he liked the trivia nights the most. Maybe she had been at the one of the other clubs he went to when ever he wanted to be lost in a crowd. “Besides if I wanted to go with a good and pretty accurate line I would go with something like… ‘Most people like to watch the Olympics, because they only happen once every four years, but I'd rather talk to you cause the chance of meeting someone so special only happens once in a lifetime.’ but you don’t strike me as a woman who is interested in the common pickup lines so lets just go with,” He smiled quite rakishly, “My name is Quinn, I’m an architect major at DCU and I swear I have seen you around somewhere.” One of his buddies from class would have used a tired line like ‘I’m studying fine architecture but baby you far surpass anything I’ve learned about in class’ but Quinn thought that line was stupider than the guy’s Female Body Inspector shirt.

Zoe rewarded his introduction with a small smile. She listened to his words, swilling her drink around carefully in her glass as she did, then took a sip before she bothered to reply. "It sounds familiar," she admitted, shrugging as she did, "but I recently graduated from DCU myself." As a rather stout man behind them vacated his bar seat, Zoe took it upon herself to sit down without invite. One leg crossed over the other and she hooked her heel on the bottom rung of the stool for support. "I can't say that you look familiar, but I also don't make a habit of becoming familiar with many places." She was a nomad, she roamed where the party took her. Tonight it was here. Tomorrow it might be ritzy bar in hightown. The possibilities were endless. Besides, a sandy haired surfer wasn't something that stood out in a crowd in this town. She'd noticed him for quite different reasons. "You're right though," she took another sip of her drink, larger this time, "I find pick-up lines to be horribly cliche." The smile on her lips had faded to a smirk. There was a gleam in her eyes that was playful, no matter how serious her tone had been. One cheesy line and she was out of this conversation. She'd had her fill of that with college boys the whole four years she'd been in the institute. "Enlighten me about this Ocean's Favor place," she pushed, leaning back with one elbow against the bar. She liked to know about the places her peers liked, but Zoe also just loved information - and getting it from people.

Quinn couldn't help but admire her grace as she sat... her legs weren't bad either but his mother taught him better so he didn't stare, just glance. "Maybe we crossed paths on the campus or I saw you in club some where" He shrugged nonchalantly. "I bounce from club to club as the mood strikes. You know, some hole in the wall one moment then The Starlight the next." He mentioned one of the pricier bars in the city without even thinking about how it could be taken. It really was one nice bar and restaurant combo with a fantastic view of the city. "Its all about the mood. Ocean's Favor is more of a local 'Cheers' type bar but all kitted out in nautical theme" Quinn smiled and shifted slightly as some random club goer passed by just a little to close. The other young guy smelling a bit too strong of cologne and beer. "Pick-up lines are for the unimaginative although I do have to admit that you ladies have come up with some pretty good comebacks to some of the oldest lines." He toasted Zoe with his water before taking a drink of the rapidly warming liquid. "Hum... Well Ocean's Favor is more of a local hangout for the college students. The comedy night and trivia night are the nights I like the most... a good game of matching wits is always enlightening." His smile this time took on a sarcastic hue as he knew that matching of wits was not always just a trivia night thing, heckling a bad comic was just as much a battle of wits as the fight the other night. Bah. He mentally chastised himself for remembering the other night as his smile slipped slightly. "So what kind of club do you like the most?"
