For those of you who are trying not to buy into the super inflated economy, I introduce this thread - How Can That Item Be That Inexpensive? Obviously you have to look at the newest posts to be seeing the currently deflated items, but people post in it pretty regularly when they catch bargains on the Market Place.

I'll have you know I'm scared to death...
...that everything that you had said to me was just...
...a lie until you left. I love the idea of it, but I'm afraid showing the deflated items to a large group of people will cause them to become inflated again. :/

Yes, but it's easier to buy when they're sitting low than to never buy at all hehe. It's like saying you should never buy sale items because the limited quantities afterwards will increase the price. Obviously yes, when the lower listings get gobbled up it inflates slightly again but that's how the market works.

That thread is awesome for people who have to earn their gold and so can't afford larger items. My fear is the trillionaires who are buying the gold generators and can afford to buy them for higher will scoop up the lower listings.

That's true I suppose in some cases. You can't mandate who can and cannot view the thread. However, a lot of the people who at least post are closet expanders or poorer Gaians. Some of the items just run cheap in general (20 poses for 250k?) and it's not all super deflated.
Part of the inflation issue is people putting more gold out into the market. Someone buying super cheap items or items that are deflating are helping to keep some of it out. /shrug

...that everything that you had said to me was just...
...a lie until you left. It's not just a matter of keeping the gold out of the marketplace. To help reverse inflation, you have to take gold out of the picture entirely. Although I believe the gold sinks would be much more effective if they weren't releasing gold generators at the same time.

There is obviously no easy fix haha. Regardless, I just like the thread. I prefer to buy cheap especially as I don't purchase gold generators. I'm sure some of the other people around here would love to still be able to clothe their avatars while still sinking gold into events and the guild.

I would love to stay away from the hyper inflated items but having joined just nineteen days ago, I have a bit yet before I'm happy with my inventory to lay off the marketplace. emo Don't get me wrong, there's some lovely gold shop items and I have a lot of the skirts and such but I don't have the will power to completely boycott items sold solely on the marketplace.

...that everything that you had said to me was just...
...a lie until you left. I'm not completely boycotting, I just never have the gold to buy the things I want. Plus, I always have to keep gold on hand because creating the items in Ole Fishing Hole requires buying some items to go along with the fish. So I end up leaving the gold sitting in my account, then I somehow stumble across a sink and dump a giant portion of the gold into it.
