The summer was great and quiet and warm and sunny. well as sunny as amity got, which was perfect. He lazed about the grass, staring at the odd shaped clouds, day dreaming about talking flowers and floating cups when something floated pass his vision. Ears perked up and he sat up paws landing in his lap. Carlos's lat hunt was interrupted by a wolf. But this time, this time Carlos was going to get the prey that landed near him. He rolled dropping to all fours. yes. his tail flickered back and forth. Yes. He dropped low, student form awkward as he materialized his illusion paws in the air next to him, acting as another pair of hands. This was the time. Slowly ever so slowly he crept forward preparing as it fluttered to a new spot.

It was rare for Psy to stray far from Mia, but as it was, the ghoul didn't seem to want anyone's companion at the moment. Not even hers. It had already taken a lot of effort to convince her to come outside and enjoy some fresh air rather than brood in her room, but even when coming out, she was still just as bitter and gloomy. Psy had tried to offer words of encouragement, but instead of helping, it only made her more irritable, and though she knew Mia hadn't meant any offence when she said she wanted to be alone for a bit, she still felt a pang at the words.
And so she was here, fluttering from flower to flower as she let out a sigh, unknowing of the one who seemed to be stalking her at the moment.

Carlos had no idea his prey was intelligent. He thought it was just a random mini. So he stalked. ears perking as she fluttered to the next flower an waited slowly creeping. Silently as he didn't need to touch the ground. Opportunity presented it's self. He launched at the butterfly, sailing through the air.

While the butterfly was usually attentive to her own surroundings, she was currently lost in her own thoughts, letting out little sighs here and there as she contemplated on how to make the situation better for her partner. It really saddened her to see Mia in such a downed state.
So lost in thought, it seemed, that she hadn't even seen the cat creeping up, and pouncing on her until everything suddenly went dark. "A-ah, what happened?! Why's everything dark? M-Mia? Mia!!"

Strippy illusion paws held his prey down. Yes! he had caught the thing. Yes! Carlos pinned it and sniffed under his paw tongue reaching out and licking his prey. He would eat it, yes. It was pretty, maybe he should make a poem about it first? what would be good... "Fluttering gently... oh my heat skips in beat down upon my soul your body I shall eat."

O-oh, there was a crack of light! Maybe- Psy froze when something warm and wet touched her, and she shivered. W-was that a tongue? W-wait... was she... going to get...
She heard a voice, and while the poem would have seemed rather pretty, t-they weren't really going to eat her, were they? "U-um, please don't eat me! I-I don't taste very good, a-and, I'm pretty sure Mia wouldn't like that very much!" Oh no, Mia! She shouldn't have wandered so far away ahhh. She really missed Mia. M-Mia... The butterfly started to cry, letting out soft little hiccups as tears trickled down her face.
In the meanwhile, a certain reaper ghoul realized she... probably shouldn't have sent her familiar away. Perhaps she WAS taking this a bit too far. And so, she had started looking for her, but instead, came across some sort of strange blue-striped cat. Strange. Wasn't Psy fluttering around this area?
"Hey." she folded her arms as she stared at Carlos. "Have you seen my familiar? Because if you're doing what I think you're doing, eating will be the least of your problems."

Carlos's ears perked he heard... crying? Was it crying? Did bugs cry? Was it a student? "Oh... don't cry..... I..." A sudden voice spoke behind him. O.O Carlos turned to look suddenly on all fours once more. The butterfly was wrapped safely in his illusions but when he realized what the ghoul was talking about... he let it go. "Oh beautiful butterfly, purple and might, familur of this friend, oh what a sight! This I did not know for feelings are told, but enlightened I am by this new knowledge." Carlos skittered away to behind the nearest bush.

Psy hiccuped as she tried to calm down, trying to wipe away the tears with her tiny legs. "S-so, you're n-not going to eat me?" And then she heard a voice, and gasped happily. Mia! She found herself suddenly free, and quickly fluttered over to her partner. "Mia! I'm ok, it's ok!" No longer fearing for her own safetly, she began to fear for the other's safety. "Really, Mia, it's fine! It was just a misunderstanding. P-please don't be angry."
Mia herself had closed her eyes and sighed. "And what have I said about straying too far from me? You know we're both powerless when we're too far apart." Of course, it had been her own fault for driving Psy away, and she supposed, in extremely dire consequences, she could always summon Psy to her side, but she knew it made Psy uncomfortable, and usually refrained from doing so unless really needed. As it was, Mia was never really good at owning up to her own mistakes.
At least, with Psy now safe, it was one less worry for her, and she turned to the cat-like boil with a frown. "Have you never seen a familiar before?" She should have known the answer to that was probably a no.

"Familiar I have not! Home is full of cats cats and more cats and the occasional banderstach." all manner of mini he had seen, and the occasional guest, but reapers were usually mad and had pocket watches instead of familiars. Usually it was full of tea and riddles and naps. Carlos really didn't have a use for this school thing. Even though he was learning so much. Carlos had learned about lots of things he had never seen nor heard about before. "A gilby gable on a rainy day. No the sun shines today, humm." he coiled an settled behind the bush. The reaper wasn't as interesting as a human. Besides, this one seemed mean.

Apparently this boil took "crazy cat lady" to a whole new level, him being a cat himself and... not quite a lady. And she would have argued that not all reapers (with the exception of some) were mad, and really, there was no need for pocket watches, though she supposed they did have their uses.
"Gilby gable?" Mia folded her arms and stared at the boil. "Are you even a student here?" If he were, it seemed standards for enrollment were dropping quite low.

"My family abandoned me here!" he sat ups suddenly and yowled. "The room smells like dust and... they all left me." he was a cat used to a big family. "They gave me this pin and said I have to wear it." He took it off though right then and there, making sad little noises as he shrunk down to his natural form. Carlos crept from the bush and tried to wrap himself around her legs. "They left me. Carlos is all alone...." he whined pitifully letting out small mews every now and then. He wasn't really all that new, just homesick. He wanted someone to take care of him. It wasn't till that moment that he was reminded about hos homesick he really was though. [A.V.] Carlos is being weird again.

Anndddddddddddd now this was just pitiful. Mia only stared as Carlos wailed, not really blaming his family for wanting to get rid of him. The boil definitely had a few screws loose, and even now, she was wondering how she could just slowly walk away and pretend this whole thing never happened. See, Psy, this was why she didn't want to go out. Nutjobs everywhere.
Though, when she was considering turning away, the student took off his pin, reverting to a smaller, more cat-like version of himself. She didn't want to admit it, but he did look kinda cu-
"Ack!" At least... until he latched onto her leg like that. A crazy needy cat, oh boy.
With a sigh, she bent down, grabbing Carlos by the scruff of his neck and tried to pry him from her leg. "Then I would assume your room here would probably be better, unless you haven't been cleaning here either." She shouldn't pity him, really, she shouldn't. But there was just something so pathetic about him she couldn't help but feel sorry.

It was a rather easy task to pick the wailing kitten up. Carlos gave little to no resistance and just hung in the air, head tilting to one side as he sniffed woefully. "Cleaning didn't get rid of the dust. Mites and bunnys everywhere." Carlos didn't realize Mia thought he was insane, but if he did he would have been quiet pleased. It was in a cheshire cat's nature to be a little mad. Really that was the whole point. Riddles and parlor tricks were what stunned and confused. and confusion lead to fear. And fear lead to madness. And madness lead to more fear. It was a cycle like that.

Perhaps, in a sense, Mia was a little afraid of him. Afraid his insanity might be contagious. It was a ridiculous notion, but he didn't do well with crazies because, well, they were crazy.
"It does, if you do it properly." Sadly, there was no way to get rid of them permanently, but cleaning on a regular basis often helped keep them at bay. And by "regular basis", she meant at the very least, once a month. That was the bare minimum.
Of course, aside from licking themselves clean (which she still considered filthy because it was like bathing in your own spit), cats were rather filthy creatures, leaving a mess in their wake, what with their shedding and hair balls and whatever unsightly thing that came out of their bodies. And so it was because of this she held him at arm's length, grimacing at the dirty kitty. "Maybe you should use water. That helps clean things up rather nicely." Maybe the kitty itself was in need of a bath.

His insanity might be contagious. Especially with that weird grin that never left his face. Even when he was crying. Still being a ghost left things a little less messy. Most of what he shed turned to vapor, not fur everywhere. (But why would he mind a comfortable extra padding in his bed anyway?) "Water? Why would you use water? Everyone knows Tea tree oil is the best cleaner." he stared up at her. How did she not know this basic thing? "But getting some, I don't have any. Do you know where any is?"
