Simply looking to revise his civi side, his powered is good with me.

User Image Name: Merric James Holinger
Nicknames: Mer

Age: 17 18 19 20

Birthday: June 14

Sign: Gemini

Gemstone: Moonstone

Blood Type: B

Fav. Food: Still has a thing for sweets, but enjoys healthy food

Hated Food: Mushrooms and spicy food

School: N/a Works in a music store

Hobbies:

Kickboxing: While he fights with a more street style, kick boxing keeps himself in shape and is a rather fun way to practice his kicks. He spends three days a week training in an actual gym for an hour, in addition to his training in the Rift. His legs and abs have grown incredibly strong since he started doing this and he relies heavily on his kicks for fighting. He's now getting used to also using his arms and fists, given his daggers do something now. Its one of the few things he has now that brings him genuine joy and excitement.

Pottery: Something he picked up from Nina, he rather enjoys the therapeutic properties of needing a bunch of wet dirt together and building things out of it. It started out as a curiosity, but it's turned into a twice a month ritual of sorts. He goes to the closest art studio, usually on the community college campus, and rents out a potting wheel for a few hours. He's made a few things, including a vase for his mother and a chibi sort of clay version of Amp. This particular interest of his is more kept under wraps and he's embarrassed by it at times. Merric enjoys it though, and somehow keeps up with it. A lot of that has to do with the fact it allows him to full relax and focus on something that is not the war or training or work. It's a much needed release.

Bass Guitar: He may not play in any bands anymore, but he still plays his bass. He very much enjoys it and finds it soothing on those nights when his Chaos is just a little too loud in his head. Over the years he's taught himself most of the popular punk rock songs and has a rather large portfolio of covers. If he was approached by an agent to find a band, he's on the fence whether he'd say yes or not. He feels his duty is to the war and the Negaverse, but using his talents for actual money would be a dream come true for him. Perhaps once the war is won, he'll look into it.

Virtues:

Duty Bound: Merric sees it his duty to complete the Negaverse's mission. He wants to see it through and see it to the end, and he will do his duty until the end of time. He hates failing a superior's orders, or failing his faction, so he does all he can to avoid it. This means that when Merric takes on a task or job, he see it through. He's learned a lot of followthrough over the years, and what could happen if he doesn't. He's also bound to those he cares about, and betraying them is like trying to get him to kill a puppy; all but impossible.

Moral Codes: Since his corruption, Mer has kept one thing at heart: if he goes after civilians for their star seeds, its no better than taking those of his own family. As such, he has developed a series of codes that keeps him bound in sanity and reality. He's seen what happens when you lose your sanity, and Merric has decided he doesn't want to fall to that level. He will not hurt innocents and children; he will only go after scum bags, drunks and druggies, as well as the occasional corrupt politician or business man. He drains energy only, though if you fight back, he'll incapacitate you. He won't not defend himself against civilians if they come after, but he won't kill them. He knows where the line is and makes sure to not cross it. In his civilian life, he's very against stealing, murder, and arson and tends to stick very much on the 'good' side of the law.

Protective: He's incredibly protective of not only those he cares about, but other people as well. He's willing to guide young officers into the right path, and willing to stand in the line of fire for his comrades. He's seen too many people get hurt or worse and would rather stand in the way than let you get hit. While it takes some time for Merric to get to this level with people, once you've hit the 'friend bar' Merric protect you as best he can. He's not going to stand in front of bus or train, but he will do his best to get you out of the way or, at worse, go down trying to get you safe. His family is one of the most important things to him, and threatening them is like threatening him. He will defend them until he dies, and as a result, its a touchy subject for him.

Flaws:

Relentless: Merric will not stop until the job is done. He will not stop until you are dead or bleeding. From a Negaverse agenda, this is wonderful. But it means he goes too far, he pushes his limits and those of other people. The word 'stop' means nothing to him anymore once he's engaged. It also means that if he gets hurt, or breaks a bone, he'll just keep going. His mission and his duty are more important than his own safety or his own mortality. He's become controlled, though it can be mistaken as recklessness sometimes.

A Monster Inside: Mer has a moral code. He has to or his family is in danger. But there are times, in the darkest of nights, when the Chaos inside of him eats him alive and he becomes something less humane and more vicious. He's more likely to butcher an enemy if given a bladed weapon, more likely to beat them to a bloody pulp. This 'snap' mainly occurs when his frustration and anger overflows and he looses himself to it. He tunnel visions during this, and is more likely to snap if he's already hunting White Moon. He's so bound to his apparent 'duty' that its started to consume him in ways he never considered and is likely to put everyone he knows in danger. Of himself.

Fixated: Merric has taken his hatred of the White Moon and his position in Spec Ops to obsessive levels. He will hunt White Moon to the ends of the earth, and he will beat them senseless without letting them leave. He's so driven to eradicate the White Moon that coupled with his relentlessness, he's ruthless and takes no prisoners. He will, without fail, zero in on an Order signature and hunt it down until it disappears or he's beaten it to an inch of its life. It blinds him to the overall mission of the Negaverse, and that most White Mooners are people too. It can, and will, get him into trouble with missions that are to take prisoners or corruptions. It's also to the point that Merric completely ignores his civilian life except to make just barely enough money to keep himself fed and keep a roof over his head. He spends 80% of his time off training in the Rift and patrolling for people to kill.
