One perk to being powered was that physical feats deemed impossible for mundane folk were made much more probable. Kallichore had not found anything of note on her random, meandering patrol in the upper-class neighborhood where she now hid. There weren't any Chaos signatures exploding on her radar, not even youma. However, a group of teenage boys, maybe averaging fifteen or sixteen, had caught her eye in the meantime. There were six of them and, knowing school was out for the summer, this kind of late night congregation couldn't be good. One boy of average height and size carried a bat while two of the others, taller, chatted between them while checking their phones.

Kallichore made sure to hide in the shadows, holding the various belts and buckles of her uniform to keep as silent as possible. She overheard discussion of "bee-an-eee', which meant breaking-and-entering, possibly as part of an initiation or out of sheer boredom. None of the six looked particularly underprivileged, three sporting brand new tennis shoes. While Kallichore didn't know much about footwear or fashion in general, kids on the poorer end of the income brackets generally didn't receive blinding white sneakers.

If it were all talk and no action, Kallichore would have been happy to simply startle them and send them packing. However, since nothing had happened yet (and she was still well aware of the possibility), the eternal senshi perched gargoyle-style behind a brick chimney, just waiting.

Tantalus very rarely personally interacted with the people he drained from. The Dark Mirror Super preferred to avoid confrontation with civilians - between things being pretty well stacked in his favor and the fact that it was, on the whole, generally not worth it, it seemed like a waste of his time and energy.

Tonight, however, he had the opportunity to prevent a crime, and perhaps to freak out a couple of criminal teenagers. Both of those were plus points in his book, and so ignoring the nearby Order Eternal aura - it wasn't Babylon, and he was the only Order third-stager Tantalus had ever had conflict with - he walked forward, sliding one of the mirror shards out from under his bracer.

"Good evening, gentlemen," he said, and his mirror wraith slipped from the glass, diving straight for the one he suspected was the leader. "I couldn't help overhearing your plans - and I'd strongly suggest you reconsider."

As Alistair, he would have been terrified of six fairly tall teenagers, some of whom were armed with bats. As Tantalus, he was fairly certain he could send them packing, if it came to it.

What the hell is this guy up to...? thought Kallichore, standing up from her crouched position. She knew full well she was spotted and decided it wasn't at all worth hiding. The eternal stepped out and into plain view, casting a glare down at Tantalus.

The miscreants were understandably startled - they had no idea where these two lunatics in silly outfits had come from. They were busy thinking up the best ways to make a little cash and suddenly Puffy Pants and Red Slut decided to rain on their party. Among jeers directed at Tantalus' quite lovely figure, one of the kids with the baseball bat stepped forward as if to fight the Dark Mirror. He had no idea what he was getting into. "Ey there, Puffy Stuff. You lookin' for a good time? You better back off. You 'n your girlfrien' ain't got no business here. You got it?"

Kallichore found herself in an odd spot, morally-speaking. On the one hand, if Tantalus was attacked and he defended himself, she would understand the need. Would he knock them out? Drain them? Would she attack him for that? ...now she wasn't so sure. Stopping a crime was commendable but attacking bad civilians...? The eternal senshi stayed put, watching.

Tantalus was totally unfazed by their response - if anything, he seemed even more amused. His wraith darted between them, draining bits of energy, and he sent a second out to do more of that dirty work. These were acceptable targets, and so far the Eternal didn't seem all that bothered by what he was doing.

"Oh, but I think you'll find I have quite a lot of business here," he said, and he churned over calling on his Super-level magic - but so far these boys really were no threat, so unless they turned on his wraiths he saw no reason to waste a spell on them. "You see, I happen to object to your idea of fun - and I'm sure she does, too," he gestured at the Order Eternal.

"So why don't you all find something a little less illegal to do, hmm?"

"Just what the ******** are these?!" came the cries of alarm, causing Kallichore's brow to furrow. The Super hadn't been attacked. Threatened, yes, but even a base level Senshi of either side would easily outclass any civilian. These guys were no threat at all to Tantalus, so why drain them? The thugs attacked by the wraiths were succumbing to sudden drowsiness but few remained alert enough to be alarmed. "What the hell did you do to us!?"

One thug, armed with the baseball bat, was offended and terrified enough to grunt and take a swing at Tantalus. Kallichore suspected an all-out fight (which would be one-sided entirely, but that wasn't the point) and leaped from her rooftop perch to disable the thug by landing on his shoulders. He went down shortly thereafter from a combination of velocity and sudden wait. The Eternal stood and looked to Tantalus for his next move. "They pose no threat to you. If you just knock them out, there won't be any harm done here. Why are you draining them?"

Certainly, draining a mugger or miscreant was, theoretically, better than draining an innocent child or soccer mom, but what was the point of draining them at all?

Kallichore easily dodged another incoming attack but most of the thugs' focus was on Tantalus, whom they thought had "started s**t". One of the boys laid down to sleep and began to drool on the pavement while the others' movements were becoming slower with each passing minute. Several "******** you"s and "eat s**t"s were hurled uselessly in Tantalus' direction. Coupled by their complete inability to do harm, the thugs looked like children trying to assault an adult. It was rather pathetic.

Tantalus's expression remained perfectly friendly, despite their aggressive movements towards him.

"Just borrowed a little energy for a higher calling than you'll ever have," he said, and there was an edge to his voice that was probably alarming - and was entirely false. Acting. "Let this be a lesson, boys - no matter how dangerous you think you are, there's always something worse lurking in the dark."

His eyes flicked to the Eternal. "Giving them a better idea of exactly what they're playing with, wandering the streets at night, that's all," he said. God, he hoped she didn't actually give him any trouble. The last thing he was afraid of was human thugs, even more than one of them, coming at him, particularly when his wraiths had rendered them effectively useless anyway. "and it's really just a long-form way of knocking them out, in the end," he said, and then he recalled his wraiths, as the last few collapsed into drained heaps.

"They won't be doing any damage to anyone, tonight," he said, and any edge of dangerousness completely fled from him. "And maybe next time they'll reconsider illegal activity as a hobby. Call it a public service."

Kallichore did concede that knocking the thugs out by draining their energy was a more humane and effective way than to beat them senseless. Still, it didn't sit right with her. Why did so many agents of Chaos harvest energy? What purpose did that serve? Tantalus mentioned a calling higher than you'll ever have, but it was deliciously ambiguous and that annoyed the eternal.

As thugs began to drop like flies, Kallichore wove herself between their bodies as gravity took over. She wouldn't catch them (for they threatened assault among other things) but she did still feel a pang of regret. She had bigger fish to interrogate, however. Closing the distance between herself and Tantalus, the eternal couldn't help but wonder what this boy's sphere was and if getting into such close proximity to him would pose a problem. With the thugs out of the way, the real conversation could begin.

"Why are you draining energy, Sailor...?" She trailed off. Kallichore was well aware he was a Dark Mirror Super. He wasn't a part of the Blood Moon Court, not that she remembered, anyway. Was he baptized from birth into the mirror, or corrupted over time? He probably wouldn't answer that, even if asked. "Does Ares have problems getting out of bed these days and she needs all of you workers to gather her up some caffeine?"

Tantalus was completely casual - probably not smart, given the position he was in, but then, he had very little to be afraid of. His smile was charming and friendly, and really, he was well aware that if she did decide to attack him his best chance would be to run - hopefully she was aware of that too, aware that he posed no threat to her.

He gave a sweeping, dramatic bow, to go with his introduction. "Tantalus, Senshi of Temptation, at your service, milady." Alright, so milady was a bit of an outmoded form of address and also generally associated with the grossest of fedora-wearing sweaty dudebros, but he might as well try to flatter her a little. "I gather energy for the greater good of my Court. If it's Ares's morning coffee, I wouldn't know, I've never met her," he took the suggestion in playful stride.

"However, as much as I'd love to chat, I do have responsibilities to my Court. Another evening," he said, and then he turned to leave. No reason to stay when it risked a dangerous confrontation, his energy haul, and possibly his neck.
