((Intended mainly for Remia, R'ael, and G'dor... but anyone who was present at the end of Weyrling lesson #2 could join, I suppose. biggrin )) Ryugen Skirt chaser... The memory of the words alone makes R'aels face burn as he turns back again at the sound of Remia's voice. "Why don't you go on back to the baracks, Jaiereth, you can take it easy..." He says quietly to the dragon, scritching him gently along his ridge. Jaiereth rumbles softly, nuzzling R'aels hand but obediantly moves off as instructed. "I'm um....sorry about that...." R'ael mutters as Remia aproaches. "I wasn't...I mean...he's....I'm...." Remia still wore a hesitant look, though she tried a very small smile out to see how it would be received. "It's alright," she said. In reality, it wasn't, because there was still a rift between G'dor and R'ael, but it needed to be said. "...R'ael... I know that I know almost nothing about the two of you, but it looked like... something had been building up for a long time...?" Remia said, not sure where to begin, but not wanting to cause anger towards herself. She reached out her arm and lightly touched his forearm with her fingertips, leaning to one side and peering up into his face as she worried her lip between her teeth.

He turns red at her touch, awkaward around others, especially girls,, studying the floor as he debates how to answer it. "I don't know...he's been like that since we got here. I mean...he always kind of got picked on because he's not REALLY my brother...I mean...hell I used to kind of do it...but he's never pulled this kind of stuff before. Ever since we got here I can't look at a girl without being 'skirt chaser' or something of the like. I tossed him in the lake the other day figuring he'd cool off on it but he didn't..." He spreads his hands helplessly. "I shouldn't have called him that...I really shouldn't. But LOOK at me. I'm an sharding HERD Beast, not a skirt chaser. He -knows- that...It just...I don't know..."

Remia let go when she saw him blush, and waited patiently while he explained. When he was finished, she sighed.
"I'm sorry, R'ael... I didn't mean to cause trouble between you two... but I suppose it's not really me, is it? Any of the girls would have been the same."
She paused, wanting to ask where the term parasite came from... but thought better of it. It really wasn't her business, at all. So she continued, "And while you might say it... I don't think you're a herd beast," hesitating only slightly as she said it. It sounded entirely silly to say out loud, but she didn't.

"Honestly...I think it was kind of brewing on it's own..." He says, reddening further at her comment. "I do look like a herd beast, but it's nice of you to say otherwise." He says, with a faint chuckle and then an profound sigh. "Shards...I don't know what to do now...I feel like an jerk...but I don't want to go appologize after that performace of his..." He says frowning and staring off down the hallway....

Remia nodded, and tilted her head to the side, thinking. "Maybe it would be best to let a bit of time pass before talking to him. Raw wounds are more likely to be irritated...."
She sighed. He wasn't a herd beast. But she didn't want to press the issue. She fidgeted with a string on her shirt. She'd have to tie that off later...
"Someone will have to apologize sooner or later, though. You know that, right? You just know how to pull each other's strings."

"I know..." He says droopily. "I'll probably end up being me too." He says, glancing down the hall. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have blown up in front of everyone, it's been a while since we really had a serious fight."

Remia nodded sympathetically. "It's alright, R'ael. I honestly think no one thinks less of either of you for the fight. Sometimes it just happens. Not so much with my siblings, but then again.... I was so much a baby to them that there couldn't really be any conflicts that mattered."
She waved her hand a bit airily, and hoped changing the subject would get him out of his funk... but if he wanted to talk about G'dor still, she would let him.

"They must be proud, you training as a Weyrling now then..." He says, letting a hint of a smile creep back to his expression. "I mean thats quite an accomplishment isn't it? Or I thought it was, I mean it's like this mythic thing to be picked, let alone bond to a dragon..."

Remia hesitated before speaking. "I think everyone else is proud of me, but Papa was very upset... at least at first. In the messages Mom sends, she says he's getting used to the idea, but he still hasn't written to me himself. He wanted all his children to follow in the Weavercraft, but so far he's lost Tendor to the Tanners and me to the Weyr."
She shook her head with a rueful smile. "I will continue in my craft as well, but it must be hard for him."
