senpai plz«இAppearance:When August speaks, xyr voice is well-modulated, soft and whispery, and... still creepy. In manner, xe is almost perfectly adrogyne and prefers it that way. On occasion, August will present xemself in a more masculine fashion, but it might be rare. Xyr gender identity is fairly neutral. August is 4'4", with a bit of chubby face and long green hair that never reveals xyr eyes. Those eyes, if ever they are shown, are an arresting rose shade. August's skin is orangey with dark purple freckles across it, concentrated especially across xyr shoulders and cheeks. August tends to look pretty bewildered in general: xyr face a delicate mixture of shy and intrigue. As for clothing, xe prefers clothes with a useful feel. Pockets, pockets, pockets. All of xyr clothing is high-quality, even though it looks thrown together. Some of the things August likes to wear are prince-like coats and brightly colored shoes.
senpai plzஇ»Personality: senpai plz notice meenthusiastic | focused | awkward xxx«இAt first glance, August seems gloomy, unsociable, almost creepy. However, under that low-hanging fringe of hair hides an enthusiastic kid who is simply awkward at socializing. It's not that August doesn't try, xe does! But there simply aren't many other children who share xyr absolute love of the occult: curses, demons, the Elder Gods mythos. If it seems creepy or perhaps a little out there, xe is all over it like white on rice. It was an innocent journey at first: a simple search to uncover more about the odd precognitive incidents xe'd been having. Despite not finding a satisfactory explanation for xyr precognition, it blossomed into a passion. Oddly enough, the thing that intrigues August most is ghosts. A demon is a demon, a god - a god; but what is a ghost? Residual energy, a soul, a tiny flake of aura left behind? Ghosts have no clear reason, and that's just freaky to August. While most of the occult is similarly unexplainable, August can't quite pinpoint exactly why xe's so concerned with ghosts!ghost thing got to do with precog & death yo xxx«இWhile August loves the things most people flee, xe is terrified of large or fast animals. Since xe is on the smaller side, xe has lost count of how many times Nachi, the family dog, has knocked xem over. The animal is simply a little exuberant in showing his love for everyone in the family. Things that are bigger than August (which is, admittedly, a lot of things) make xem uncomfortable. Xe is a child who like small things: tiny corners, kittens, being a blanket burrito. Larger things are less controlled, August rationalized, and not to be trusted. People do not fall under this fear unless they are pf a particularly looming type - xe's brother, moms, and teachers are bigger than xem, but August has never felt unsafe around them. But, this fear of some larger things also means that xe hates heights unless it is in a truly secure place. xxx«இDespite typically being soft-spoken, August's volume sparks considerably when xe is comfortable. At those rare times, xe is a true chatterbox, babbling on about the occult or anything that might come to mind. Still, there are few xe can call friends. August is not an easy child to understand or even begin a conversation with. If in a situation where xe feels truly uncomfortable, August will clam up and try to escape, silently slipping back to xyr room. If escape is impossible, August fidgets. Xe pulls on xyr fringe, fiddles with xyr coat, chews xyr lips. Luckily, escape is easy for the kid, and xe often disappears and reappears suddenly and without warning, often to interject tidbits about demon summoning rituals into a regular conversation. If ever a disbeliever appears, Auggie will try desperately to 'teach' them; xe is fully convinced that such people are simply uneducated. Those who refuse to believe... they take more time, but xe can be stubborn, that is - until something new catches xyr eyes (such as a new ritual or rare book). As such, there are only a few things that tend to stop xe in xyr tracks, especially when Auggie is talking fast and loud about the occult. Sudden loud noises or shouting tend to startle August into silence; and xe will try to slink off into the shadows. xxx«இWhile Auggie prefers xyr chosen pronouns, xe doesn't mind being called they/them. In fact they/them tends to be the only pronouns xe can get xyr teachers to use with regularity. (Except for Ms. Harris and Mr. Saitamo: they always use the correct pronouns for August; xe had short-lived crushes on the both of them for that) But if someone continually uses s/he, it can cause an intense sense of dysphoria in Auggie. Until it abates, August will cover mirrors and often layer xemself in enough pieces of clothing that xyr shape is completely distorted. August tends to wait until someone misgenders xem until before simply mentioning that xe is neither boy nor girl, xe is xem. But xe will avoid anyone who continually misuses pronouns around August; often xe will slip away suddenly if they are nearby. when their presence in unavoidable, Auggie becomes even more withdrawn that normal, shrinking into xemself.
senpai plzஇ»Powers: xxx«இ Precognition: One of the more well known abilities, but hardly understood. Precognition allows a psychic to see brief glimpses into the future -- but often they are confusing and without context. This can make it difficult to do anything useful with the knowledge, leading to great frustration. Sometimes, this ability may activate on its own, leaving the psychic disoriented and stressful. Second sight may only offer the barest amount of information to start with, mere flashes of seconds to come or some unidentified time in the near future. Good luck deciphering these visions. senpai plzஇ»History: xxx«இIt was a sunny day in March, incidentally, when January met May. Somehow, as the month directly between, it was fitting. Their courtship was uneventful and sweet, full of hazy summer days and as fluffy as the bread May baked. After five years, the two women married and set about making a family for themselves. xxx«இFirst was October, who was not, as his name might suggest, born in October. By use of a male donor, January carried Toby a full nine months before his birth in February. They both decided to adopt next time. Next, the happy couple welcomed August into their family and, finally, June. August was an infant at time of adoption and has never known xyr biological parents (*rp plot - find biologicals to see about hereditary power? idk). It isn't that xyr would be uninterested in seeing them, just that August tends to forget that January and May are not genetically related to xem. June, however, came to the Cadenzia family when she was 3. Although her mother had given her up at an even younger age, June had been living in a group home until she had been adopted. She still writes occasionally to one of the other girls from there and, despite being across the country from each other, they keep up an avid correspondence. xxx«இThe children all had wildly different interests. Toby was artistic and painted the walls of his bedroom with a different mural each year. June was into sports, favoring soccer. And August, August loved the occult. It started early on, when xe sometimes had dreams that felt real. And those dreams would come true. Xe became determined to figure out xyr odd ability and, with the dubious help of the internet, developed an intense love for all things occult. First, xe simply looked up things like spoon bending, PK; then xe stumbled upon lists of demons, gods, creatures that were inheritors of the world's knowledge. While their different interests were hard to reconcile, but the siblings found ways. One month, October and Auggie paired their talents for sweeping sigils of protection in his room. Of course, the next month his room was painted in puzzle pieces. Puzzles: that was the one thing each person in the family loved. Often, there would be a giant, half-finished beast of a puzzle laid out in the first floor tea room and everyone would stop by and place a piece now and then or sit for hours, frantically searching for that corner piece. One time, Nachi knocked a nearly finished puzzle from the table. From then on, that was a dog-free room. xxx«இIn school, August kept to xemself mostly about xyr interests, confiding only in Miss Smithers, the ancient librarian. It was she who happily leant August her own copies of H.P. Lovecraft, Heinrich Agrippa, and other writers. His parents were a little perturbed by this sudden influx, but after a short periood wherein May read every book xe brought home, the librarian was deemed alright. The inclusion of Elder gods and references to the occult is a recent addition to August's speech and in school, it has earned the kid a few odd looks. But as long as August doesn't draw sigils in the bathroom, most of the teachers treat it like June's love of increasingly frilly dresses: odd but relatively harmless. Xyr classmates are luckily not really the bullying type and as long as August doesn't do anything weird, then, well, xyr weird talk is ignored. However, it's a little hard for xe to make very close friends, instead being general friends with several people. August maintains that as long as xe has xyr family, friends are alright, but not strictly necessary. xxx«இWhen August turned 8, xe realized that xe had never really felt like a boy or a girl at all. To be addressed as either he or she felt... odd at best, somehow upsetting at worst. Confused, xe broached the subject to xyr family, only to be met with blank stares. However, the internet is a glorious thing. Soon, even May (who was, by her own admission, the ditziest of the family) had read article upon article about being agender and gender fluidity. The next night, August's mothers sat xem down, but only one question passed their lips. "What pronouns do you want, kiddo?" In light of their unconditional support, August finally told xyr parents about the dreams, the knowing. Xyr parents listened carefully, and if they were a bit quick to ask if it could merely be intense deja vu (which was, in Auggie's opinion, a viable reaction), they still suggested xe keep a journal of xyr dreams. For now, nothing bad had happened, nothing odd predicted. For August, it wasn't the most satisfying of conversation, but xe began a journal. xxx«இEver since August had been six, xe had experienced strange dreams on occasion; dreams that felt unnervingly real. They were all small, everyday things - about what was for breakfast the next game, the pop quiz in school later than week, what xe would get for xyr birthday. However, the dreams came only once every few months, so Auggie typically wrote them off as strange coincidences, deja vu. Xe had never mentioned the dreams to xyr parents because they were always so mundane, so everyday, so fuzzy. It seemed odd, but not earth-shattering. While August continued to poke around on the internet, in libraries, xe never thought about anything as drastic as actually attempting summoning things until much later. xxx«இA few years later, August's talents came to a head. In the middle of Thanksgiving dinner, a strange urge came over August and xe just knew. Before xe could think about it, xyr mouth opened, predicting that the very uncle xe was named for, Uncle Justice, would die in a fire, soon. Horrified at xyr own outburst, Auggie refused to speak about xyr vision for weeks, instead frantically trying spells, summonings, anything that might give xe some way to prevent they very thing xe predicted. Three months after that dinner, Justice's house caught on fire and he perished in the blaze. Shocked by both his death and this evidence of August's power, May sprang into action, trying to unearth anything, anywhere that might help Auggie control xyr burgeoning powers. And, by dint of a particularly useful search engine, Murmuring Pines was found. The family resolved to send August as soon as camp began. xxx«இEven though the camp will supposedly teach August more about xyr power, right now, xe wants more than anything to just never see such scary images again.
