I'm not sure how to add friends or whatever.
Can you add by looking up usernames?

xd An example. In that video it tells you a "bad" way. Do that bad way first. As in load up the friend list menu. I don't believe you have yet as I have found you on Miiverse, but I cannot add you as of yet. I believe it's because you haven't gone to the Friend list menu to initiate the settings on your Nintendo ID.
After you have done so, you should be able to add people through Miiverse (the "good" way).
Note that Miiverse looks a little different than it does in the video, probably an update. In the video around 2:25 it says to click User Menu in the top left corner where your Mii is. In my menu, probably due to an update, this button is called User Page instead. You still want to click that. The page this brings you to will have a button in the top right corner called User Menu. This one brings you to the actual menu where you can search for users. There's also a Miiverse Settings menu in there where the first option let's you choose if people can send you friend requests.
Now, either way... I did Follow you on Miiverse, sooo yeah. Just need you to be able to accept friend requests by either initiating your friend list and/or updating that setting in Miiverse.
