Yet again it had happened. Despite his best efforts, (and a pretty well sized budget), Marcus’s plan to keep the windows from breaking had fallen through. Every single one broken- that was just the start to a perfect day, no really, he loved fixing the same thing he’d fixed at least 7 times before. Just let him fix it forever guys. Grumbling as he got the toolkit from the moon who’s shift he was switching with, Marcus was told he’d have a trainee assisting him. All Marcus heard was ‘you got someone to either help or ******** things up good luck.

And luck he’d need. Looking down the halls the windows were all taped closed with garbage bags, and while the replacement panes were next to them he knew he’d have to remove the old frames, replace those, replace any broken wood, check the walls for any under laying problems- balance everything. It wasn’t so much a hard job as it just was a slow tedious one by now. Sighing heavily he took off his coat and folded it neatly to the side. No sense in wearing it where wood glue could get on it. The trainee set to arrive at any moment, Marcus just grabbed a bucket, flipped it over, and used it as a seat while he got started checking how to remove the current window without needing to use a dang crowbar again.

Given his location in the basement, Milo really didn't pay much attention to windows elsewhere on the island. Maybe he should have, sometimes he walked by them after all but for the most part they were just considered there and gave them really no mind.

That was until he realized there was an actual task at fixing them. And from the sound of it, a lot of them - he had been off island on leave during that whole wonderful bout that blew up all the glass. Did notice the garbage bags, though he hadn't really gotten a clear answer to what happened and soon just assumed another storm or something. But still, there was a job to fix them so with a shrug he signed up for it. Why not?

With supplied toolkit in hand, the Sun headed to where he was going to be assigned - with a buddy it seemed, good times - and jauntily made his way over looking still way too happy like always.

"Aa, hey, dude! Sup!" Milo greeted with a wave when he did arrive.

Cursing as he realized he’d put in a nail rather than a screw, Marcus sighed, pulling out pliers- It was in too deep to remove with the hammer, and the fact it was in a corner of all places? Doubly difficult. He’d just made life harder for himself. He didn’t initially realize that he was beaddressed until a certain someone pointed it out.

Marcus….
……
Marcussssssssssss.
……
MARCUS.
What Dis?
He hissed back to the vampire in his head.
We have company- a thing you would notice if you were not so wrapped up with your work.

Blinking it took a few seconds for Marcus to spin around and address just who’d arrived to join him. “Oh hey. I’ll take a guess and say you’re the trainee they sent over?” He motioned for Milo to come join him. “Marcus Hasan- as for what’s up…” He looked down the hall, realizing it was going to be a long a** day. “Window repairs, that’s whats up.”

Not getting noticed didn't even really phase him, not particularly in this case anyways with the job that needed to be done. He too could see the long hallway of windows after all I(it was why he was here).

"Intermediate," he corrected as he transferred the tool box to one hand and held out the free one to shake - didn't seem like Marcus was in the mood, but whatever. "Milo Hale." And could at least introduce himself.

"So what did these all in?" The Sun asked as he gestured vaguely around him, and eyeing the opposite side where the other guy wasn't working. 'Cause well, that seemed like the most efficient plan at the moment.

The hall was just the surface. Marcus was trying very hard not to think about the other windows, other floors, other buildings- All he could hope was that the moon division was getting fairly compensated for doing their repair work and the supplies. Really- it might not have been (all) Caelius’s fault but Marcus had that aquarium glass requested on purpose he doubted that the blast would have alone, than those out.
Marcus just had started blaming Caelius because he could and it was pretty much his fault usually anyway.
“Trainee is a trainee-“ Marcus said blandly. A quick handshake, Marcus went back to removing the nail which eventually wiggled free. “As for what did the windows in- some blast. My bet is that tall dark and deadly played some part in it. It usually was and is his fault.” A shrug, Marcus looked around- “You listen to music? I had a player around here somewhere.”

Milo couldn't even imagine the extent of the damage that had actually been done, having been off island at the time - apparently. For all he knew, it was just the hallway that looked ransacked; really, he didn't go to too many places. Well, wait, the cafeteria hadn't looked too great either. But still, he had just been put on this detail without knowing much else about it.

For the most part, he didn't say anything about Marcus' comment on his position and just shrugged - maybe was right? He wasn't sure, the other guy was a full Hunter anyways, maybe knew better even though he was pretty proud of his new coat and stuff. For the explanation, Milo just went, "Aa ~ didn't think he could do somethin' like this." Without even really know what Marcus meant; who was he? Like, some uber bad guy he didn't know about? Anyway.

"Aa, ya, if you got any that would be kinda awesome, ya? Helps get things movin' ~" Finally he was at the other side, the tool box at his side as he went to inspect the casing of the windows to figure out the best way to take them off. Probably needed a hammer or something, and a little chisel.... hm...

Marcus looked down the hall, making sure that indeed, tall dark and deadly guy who had a bagel issue wasn’t around. “I really just wish that Caelius would stop throwing the trainees out the windows. I mean this accident? Fine. Not common. But every single week all the time- Trainees and some poor hunter just tossed out like they’re made to land like cats. Cats are lucky, they’ve got nine lives. Hunters have one and he thinks it’s more like 20.”

Rubbing the scarred half of his face, the moon hunter frowned, feeling it itch. Spinning to properly look for his player, the moon hunter found it under a pile of packing materials. “Here we go-“ Flipping it on, the blue runes began to glow as classic 80s music echoed down the hall. “This good?” He hoped it was- Marcus had that or his and Cass’s playlist which did include the random music from Unico as well as a few screaming voice tracks from horror videogames.
She’d put them in to make sure he’d be on his toes.
That or, to listen to the tiny screams her husband would make when she would force him to sit through walk throughs with no sound only to play the screaming voice track and have him literally jumping from his seat and drawing Dis looking for an intruder or an attacker. Cass was both the best wife and the worst wife. Sadist wife.

He loved her though.

His hands had gotten ahold of the correct tools necessary for prying off the window Milo was currently working on, and midway he stopped to just sort of turn and give Marcus a look. "For real? Just like, right out the window?" Even added in a hand gesture, swooping his hand in a curve like it was, well, going out of a window.

Learned new things everyday about That Guy it seemed, now he was really wondering about that time he had Milo rescue him and all.

At least things moved onto a more fun topic and Milo's expression moved from dumbfounded back into his usual cheerfulness. "Aa ya, brah, totally fine." Couldn't go wrong with that type of music; it had been ingrained in him early on to appreciate it from several members of his family. With a small bob of his head, the Sun turned his attention back to the window he had been working on, setting the chisel in the seam between it and the wall to get it to wiggle out.

Without turning back, he asked, "So are runic electronics hard to come by?"
