Sueno Expert Civilian Dark Mage: 91-100 Called the Voz de la Tierra (voice of the earth). Intelligent and more powerful than the mage mara's, they wield a mixture of shadow, earth and metal magic. They speak in a deep whispering voice, one that resonates in your bones. Don't listen to what they say! For they can capture your mind and hypnotize you. They are carved from Arcanites, obsidian, and copper. They wear no armor nor cloth, but instead their very body is carved with symbols and signs to enhance their magic. They too have no legs and a ball of copper magic swirls where the legs should be. Win: x5 Arcanite Stones, x10 Obsidian, x 2 Copper Bars
Loot gained: x10 Arcanite Stones, x20 Obsidian, x 4 Copper Bars

Sueno found that being talked down to actually made the fear go away. Where she would have cried or ran, she found she really didn't want to anymore. Maybe she was finally getting over her fears… or maybe she didn’t like to be treated like a child who was scared anymore. She was 15 now after all! She patted the Hastar’s nose as she watched the feathered Khehora and the Orderite attack. Once Gazini saw them head towards the threat he turned his back and ignored them, not wanting to watch others have fun while he languished here. Which meant he was the first to see the other dark shape, black with copper engraved runes, embedded with small sharp crystal clusters. It was coming silently from behind them.

Darke spared a moment to glower at his boy. He wasn't surprised by the brash and rude words so much as he was annoyed that Mae had this terrible habit of not thinking before he said anything. Honestly, he sounded like he was speaking to some sort of invalid, not a daring young girl prepared to protect her farm... "There's no need to be so harsh," the Alihora grumbled out quietly. "There is just one mara to destroy. Should be no problem for us. Let her watch and be amazed and whatnot."
Mae snorted. It wasn't like he had much choice now. Stubborn disobedience must be a female thing. On the other hand, Darke could be right. One mara against two of them. As long as she stayed with her hastar, she's hardly be in the way... He probably would've wanted to watch when he was younger too. 'Fine,' he rumbled through their link. 'Let's just finish it and be done.'
The mara had similar ideas. The short conversation hadn't taken long, but it had been long enough for the creature to be on them now. It didn't have a weapon, but then, it didn't need one. The earth rumbled beneath their feet, and as it began to crumble, Darke leaped into the air with an alarmed crow. Mae kicked off from the crackling earth and dove toward the mara, flicking one of his blades out as he darted past the mage-like creature. A sword against stone? He made little more than a thin, shallow slash in the mara's rock body.
Once Mae had flown out of the way, Darke moved in. He swooped in and around the legless creature, blasting it with beams of frozen breath, lodging crystals of ice in all of its cracks and crevices; crystals of ice that expanded the longer the Aiskala used his magic. Despite the mara's attempts to be rid of Darke, the ice pulsed through its frame, cracking its body until the dark mage was hardly more than a pile of rubble on the ground and a glowing swirl of magic that fled from the scene.
Darke huffed and flicked his tail over the mess as he glided back to Mae. "Good job, Darke," the Orderite purred as he patted his companion's feathered neck.

Sueno smirked when she saw that the boy made barely a dent and his Khehora did most of the work. For all his orders, he hadn’t done much! She shook her head at her thoughts. He was defending her farm, much as his attitude grated, he was still doing her a favor. She needed to be more polite! Gazini snorted and pulled back from Sueno hands. She looked at him and spoke softly in calm tones. “Easy boy… the Mara’s gone…” But he still backed up, his eyes fixed on something behind her. Turning around, she squeaked in surprise. Another Mara! How had it gotten so close so silently? Gazini charged it; Soudulian Hastars may be the calmest and gentlest of Hastars, but they were still Hastars! And that meant dangerous. Ramming the stone statue with its head the Hastar shrilly screamed it’s angry at the intrusion. Sueno was shocked and afraid for her Hastar. But, she grimaced, what could she do? She looked at the hoe in her hands. The boy had been right to laugh, she thought, this can’t hurt it! But… what else did she have? She couldn’t fight, her magic she’d only learned from tomes…. She thought for a moment; she knew how to use her magic to make her garden grow faster, how about if she just concentrated it on one plant? Maybe try to snare it? She saw the vines along the fence where Gazini and the Mara fought; perfect! She could at least give Gazini a bit of time before the Guardians got there! She’d cast it from the tome so many times, it was almost instinctive now. The vine, filled with her light magic, grew fast and large. The vines thickened and twined, straining to respond to Sueno’s call to grow. They wrapped around the bottom of the Mara. Then the Mara spoke. Its voice was deep and she could feel it in her bones. Hypnotic and soft, she found herself wanting to listen to it; stop fighting and just… listen. Gazini didn’t. He screamed again and proceeded to trample the entangled Mara; sharp hooves gouging the body as it tried to escape from the vine’s binding it. ((words: 494))

Darke took a moment to preen in his Bonded's praise before the peculiar and unfamiliar sound of an agitated hastar reached him. As he and his boy turned toward the sound, the four legged beast rammed into a second glossy obsidian body. The Aiskala emitted a high-pitched trill of fear for the girl as he lurched forward to aid in her defense. "Stop," Mae hissed, shoving his arm out to collide with his companion's fluffy breast. Obviously, if Darke had wanted to move past that, he could've with ease. "You'll just agitate it further and it could hurt you or her. Stay. Wait."
The Aiskalan stomped and huffed, his tail lashing in agitation as the hastar continued to gouge into its Mara opponent while the young blond girl just stood within a few feet of it like she was waiting to be struck or something. Darke snorted and clawed at the grass beneath his talons. Mae was probably right... There was no telling how often that hastar had come into contact with a Khehora outside of being its prey, so it could easily see Darke as another opponent, whether to defend itself or the girl. Still, watching someone so small and defenseless stand so close, while he did next to nothing was agonizing. "I know..." Mae murmured soothingly in response.
And then came the vines. Thick tangles of them leaped from the nearby fence to ensnare the Mara and drag it down so that the hastar could continue chipping away at it and marring the glyphs embedded in the stone until it was little more than a pile of rubble. Once the most immediate threat was vanquished, Darke charged past Mae's restraining arm and hopped the fence separating him from the hastar and the girl. he gave a warning hiss at the four-legged beast as he landed before them. "Are you alright?"

Fluffesu Reached 600 words, we can move it to the ORP again :3 Sueno shook off the daze of the Mara's voice as she pulled her power out of the ground, leaving the vines happily grown and much larger than they should be. She was always a little out of it when she channeled her magic into the ground or plants to aid them; probably since she was Light and they were Earth. Gazini trotted back after giving the stone one last kick, tail lashing happily as he proudly paraded around. “Guess Ah dinna have to worry about Gazini panicking,” she said to Maeron when he came over. “Ah’m alright, just a little tired from magic is all.” Gazini trotted over to possessively twine about Sueno and demand praise and treats. She obliged and checked his hooves to make sure they weren’t hurt, glad she’d had shoe-ed to protect his hooves when he was acting as her mount. 651/600
