I know a bit of Japanese (not really that good at it). Which is quite embarrassing, because I have been studying it for 6 years at a university of applied science now (normally a 4 year programme). But as long as it's basic Japanese, it would be fine smile Just don't ask me to correct keigo sweatdrop
Dutch is my mother tongue and I like to think I'm not doing too bad with English. My Japanese is very basic.
I can roughly understand German and a little bit of French, Italian, Spannish, Portugese etc (all these languages look alike anyways), but I can't speak any of them.
If you see me making any mistakes, be free to correct me biggrin

So this is where the language business was hidden. I didn't expect it to be hiding in a subforum titled music and respect, even if internationally. In your last sentence, we typically say "feel free," not "be free." I'd love to help you practice Japanese, although mine isn't amazing either, but I can at least help you get through the basics.

I was also surprised to find it here sweatdrop Wow, someone who speaks Dutch! surprised Why on earth did you decide to learn Dutch? xd Btw, it is ' dus als je een fout ziet' instead of ' zo als je een fout ziet'. And it is an incredibly hard language to learn, so don't be hard on yourself 3nodding Right now I'm studying for resits for kanji reading and writing, so I'm not spending a lot of time reviewing grammar and vocabulary right now... sweatdrop

If you've never heard it before, it's kind of about looking past what you see and understanding what's beneath the surface, if that makes sense. Learning languages kind of helps me do that, in a way. It's like a window into the soul of a people. So, someday, I want to be able to speak with all the colors of the world. It's cheesy, I know! :B
So why not learn Dutch. It ought to be learned just as much as any other, and I'm not sure what it is I like about it. It's the third Germanic language I decided to learn and it showed me a lot about the differences between West Germanic languages and North Germanic languages. As far as difficulty, it's not quite as hard as the ancient languages I've managed to learn, I suppose. Difficulty is relative.
Other weird nerdy stuff. :B That aside, when you've gotten through enough kanji to start grammar and stuff, I'd be happy to help.

I would love love love to learn two languages other than English, but I have difficulty in recalling words when I have to use them. The languages I am trying to learn is Spanish and Polish and I have no clue how to start learning the latter, since I never had a course in Polish.
