[ Afternoon Delight ]
It was always the little things. Odd little things that turned into special things, that became habit, comfort. Like Cami coming out of her afternoon shower with her hair around her face in a damp fluff that held water more than it dripped it, and flopping down onto whichever space Otto was occupying in that given moment. More often than not it was the couch but since they'd gotten back from the Tower of Ancients it had been his bed. Sometimes if the sun was too bright it would be her bed which was where he was today, scrolling through something on his phone while music filtered in from the living room.
Ruffling a towel over her head once more to try and get the water out she chucked it into the Legendary Laundry Corner where eventually Molly would come gather up the laundry because she was a miracle. Sinking one knee onto the bed it was all the warning Otto would get before Cami's damp head made contact with his stomach gently. She snuggled up to his legs in her tank top and tiny shorts smelling like a tropical paradise and closed her eyes.
Medea's scar was clearly seen on her back and, after a few moments while he waited for her to get comfortable, Otto's hand came down to brush against her forehead and temple. It was like this every afternoon when she came home from training. Dragging herself through a shower to get the sweat off, flopping down next to Otto for a nap of at least forty minutes' duration, before getting up to start on dinner.
Comfort. Habit. Love.

[ Midnight Tremors ]
Every so often, Otto would awake between a sleep cycle and the next. Cami, nuzzled closely beside him, trembled and whined in her sleep. Another nightmare. Rather than wake her, he chose instead to rub the small of her back. "Sssh...." He whispered, hoping the slow massage would ease the tension of her dream. Maybe, like a dream catcher, it would filter away all that scared her while she lay trapped in slumber.
Slowly the whining ceased, and the trembling all but stilled. He hoped she'd found a place to hide from that nightmare for now.

[ Telling ]Quote: Maebe Grace Bertrand @MaebeBaebyYOU SLUT Maebe Grace Bertrand @MaebeBaebyYOU KISSED HIM Staring down at her phone in consternation for a moment Cami tapped out a very brief reply in all caps before swiveling her head around to look at Otto where he was seated in the living room. She'd been feeling a little emotionally drained from being down in the infirmary and instead of watching whatever movie Otto'd decided to put on Cami had just gone straight into bed. Now she was all but crawling off the end to look in at her blond roommate wondering if she could get a glimpse of his head over the couch. Perhaps catch his eye. Make faces. Throw a pillow. Nope. Otto was either slouching or lounging in such a way that he didn't see his curvaceous roommate all but falling out of her bed in order to try and make eye contact with him from the bedroom. So, gathering up her pillow (because she needed it right now) she walked right up behind Otto and lightly bapped him over the head with it, pillow-fight style. "Do you know why Maebe is calling me a slut on Twitter, Otto?" Her tone was mild but even Cami couldn't hide the grin. Telling Maebe meant that he was taking Cami, and whatever it was they were doing, seriously. Seriously enough to want to tell the other person in their lives. Bending down over the couch her voice was next to his ear. "I think it's unfair when I haven't even earned it."

Otto was blissfully unaware of impending danger. His attention drawn in to the disaster movie playing in front of him, the fluffy blow to the back of his head came as a shock. Otto turned sharply, looking up at the opposing figure of Cami armed with her pillow. Oops. Was this his fault? "What?" He furrowed his brows, grimacing uncertain. "But I never said we slept together. I said we kissed.... I thought it was only right that she know." Was he wrong?

[Summer Nights]
Summer on a tropical island was muggy. Without A/C working, the night breeze coming in through several very large open windows was all the cool they would get.
Cami's warm body was the last thing he wanted near him. But every time he woke up, one of them was clinging to the other out of primal instinct for companionship. The sheets he'd kicked off, most pillows were also pushed off the bed.
It was a difficult night to fall asleep. But it was kind of neat, somehow. Every now and then that cool ocean breeze swept in and calmed his soul as it gently swept over their exposed skin.
PJs in the summer were off limits. They both slept in their underwear out of necessity. Cami only seemed to own the laciest, sexiest of undergarments. Terribly distracting. What he liked most, however, was how her skin looked glowing in the moonlight on that hot, summer midnight.

[ Telling ]Usually Cami would have flipped over the back of the couch so that she was lying on her neck and shoulders in a way that would have made a doctor grimace to see. Considering there was still a bit of a healing wound in her back she went legs-first this time. Clambering over until she was cuddled up against Otto, pillow on the floor in front of them, her head rested on his shoulder. "No, she had to know because it's important to tell but...I had a plan. I probably should have told you." Only mildly put-out there was just a small sigh as she cuddled closer. For a moment she wanted to lecture Otto about how he had the worst timing, that he should have consulted her as Cami had planned to when Maebe was out of the infirmary and could be approached about the paradigm shift. But why bother? Then Otto would try to change and it wasn't something that needed changing. She loved him for the way he was, not the way he could be if he were perfect, and most of his flaws were endearing. Grumbling beneath her breath she let out a long sigh. "I think that's the first time I've been called a slut and not deserved it. It's weird." And, because she could, the redhead snuggled in to lightly kiss a spot on Otto's jaw. "But I'll endure it. For you."

[ Telling ]"Yeah, y'shoulda." Of course that meant the same for him. He likely should have asked beforehand. He felt badly, only because he didn't like the idea of his girls calling each other names. What if someone else had said such a thing to Cami? They said such things of Maebe, it seemed. She was used to it, but that still made him mad. He warmed slightly under the kiss to his jaw, sinking a bit in place. "Will ya now? Good." He muttered pathetically. "Wonder what else I can get away with."

[ Telling ]"We ought to learn how to communicate more effectively but I'm much happier with cuddling." Alas, that was not the sort of uncomplicated relationship they had any longer. Both of them were romantically (at least sexually) involved with the same woman. Whatever was springing up between her and Otto was going to likely be slow as a three-legged turtle through mud and it made her happy they were so tentative. So hesitant, new and special because of it. Cami was quite used to being called a slut and, for the most part, she took it as a compliment even when it wasn't intended as such. Slut was something leveraged at an attractive woman who was in control of her own sexuality, her own life, and those were things that Cami very much enjoyed being. So being a slut with Otto? That was alright. "Well, you said it yourself, who cares what anyone else thinks? It's just us and that just means Maebe's jealous you kissed me. Cuz, yanno, I'm special." Her grin was unashamed at the implication that it was because of her that Maebe was jealous, not him, the tease. "But you? Goodness Otto, I thought you realized, you're so charming you can get away with anything you damn near want."

[ Telling ] Cami was special. Very special. He smirked lightly at her tease, almost tempted to play up the act a little. Charming? As if. He settled with a kiss to her cheek instead.

[ Summer Nights ]Whatever had taken all of the glass out of the windows of Deus Ex deserved to be destroyed. Destroyed very much in the way that Cami's idea of propriety and effort to be respectful of not shoving those parts of her that were especially feminine in front of Otto's line of sight without asking or preparing him. The moment she was forced to sleep in muggy 23+ degrees Celsius weather was the moment she stopped caring about whether or not Otto's delicate sensibilities were offended. Even her tiniest cotton shorts were too thick to sleep in, leaving her in nothing but a well-structured sports bra (bless the makers of such a product) and honestly her most modest pair of underwear. There were a few pairs that would have perhaps made the blond go white as a ghost as all the blood left his face to travel south but her cheekies covered everything relevant with utterly opaque fabric. A little lace but that wouldn't kill the poor man. It was becoming amazing, more and more so, how they seemed to be literal magnets for each other. No matter what happened Cami woke up curled around Otto, or with Otto curled around her. Maebe often ended up entangled in both their limbs when they pushed her between them on nights she could be talked into staying with them. The way they clicked had always been extraordinary. People called Cami the sun, sunshine, and maybe it was true. Otto, then, would have been the clouds from a rainy day that hid something lovely inside and could help shield everyone from Cami's more violent emotions. Laying in the sticky darkness, watching his eyes skim over her curves in the darkness, she smiled and felt flutters again in her stomach. She didn't know if he knew she was awake, if she saw him, and didn't care. It was a quiet, private moment and it soothed her heart. Perhaps, tonight, she could sleep without nightmares.

[ Notes ]Getting out of bed in the morning was getting more and more difficult. Not especially because Cami was feeling lazy and didn't want to run -- she loved her quiet morning jogs around the perimeter of the island. No, Cami didn't want to get out of bed, because being in bed was so wonderful that getting out was akin to (and yes, she was being dramatic) severing a limb. Otto, since opening his training course and overseeing it, had been...well, as much like Cami as she was sure he could be. He came home in a state of near-euphoria, laughing and smiling more than she had ever seen before, and she basked in it. It gave the redhead insight into how perhaps Otto and Maebe had seen her and why she was unique and necessary to them. Otto was tactile, affectionate, standing taller and straighter. If he hadn't already taken the step days before and kissed her, Cami might have made that move herself at this point. It was almost irresistable to kiss that smiling mouth. Contact, cuddles, snuggles, all became frequent and warm like a blanket in winter. It didn't matter that it was summer and that sometimes the AC didn't work, sometimes the windows were out, the Caribbean-born girl was as close as he would allow her to be. To slide out of Otto's hold, slipping her pillow into his place so he didn't feel entirely bereft, she paused and was swamped with warmth and butterflies. On an impulse, Cami quietly scribbled on a piece of paper torn out of one of her many notebooks. Folding it in such a way that it couldn't be missed she set it on the nightstand between their beds. When he woke perhaps he'd read it. Quote: Otto, You're making it rather hard to get out of bed in the morning, you know that? I'm already running late but I was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching you sleep, and just couldn't leave without writing you a note. I hope it makes you smile. If you can find me later for lunch, would you? Bring Maebe if you can find her or don't if you'd rather not. Sweet dreams. : ) Love, Cami

[Lunch Dates]
Otto did read the note, and spent a fair amount of time re-reading it and rolling around in bed gleeing over it.
He intercepted Cami on her way back from a shift, dragging her off to a corner of the main building to share a lunch he'd made. Though to be fair, it was more a lunch Kostya made that Otto simple bagged up into a picnic for the pair.
He'd greeted her with a smile. He was taking the lead the whole way.
Otto was filled with pride and confidence, that which he'd never seen.

[ Lunch Dates ]
'Dragging' was decidedly an exaggeration for the way Cami faithfully followed Otto wherever he was going to lead. It was a bit stupid, and she knew it was a bit stupid, but everything inside of her went funny when Otto smiled at her. "Did you seriously make a picnic?" Her own smile was bright as the summer sun while their fingers linked and she all but skipped along behind him.
Tugging lightly on his hand to halt for a minute she got him to turn so that Cami could lean in and kiss him with all the warmth and bubbling happiness inside of her. Watching him walk so tall, so proud, made her feelings all but explode. He'd promised that night to be more honest, more open, accept rather than fight, and it was just...magical.
Words were not her strong suit, would never be, but that seemed like a great one. "You're the best, Otto."
