There are not many boats with Mara that go from Eowyn to Ayr and Aisko. There are enough that the Mara presence is felt on along the ports and coasts of those lands, but no army threatens it.
Still, the ports have been attacked and smaller massacre's have occurred. Mara wander the wilderness in search of fleshy lifeforms and their buildings. The Wild Tribe in these places are in their element: attacking from ambush then fading away into the snow or mist. These lands are filled with warriors, very little non combatants dwell in these quiet yet harsh lands, causing the Mara to have a difficult time threatening the ports and cities on these lands. Seeing that this land is not in too much trouble, many warriors have left to go join the fight and help out in places that need more warriors.
Hunting Mara's
You may still roll for Mara encounters! Roll the dice in this thread and at the end of the meta, claim all your loot and EXP!You can also just link to a Hunt thread in the Hunt forum if that is easier for you! At the bottom of your post keep track of the Word count for the hunts (you still need 300 per Mara!), the EXP gained and so on.
Sometimes the Mule will quote and tell you that you are being ambushed or attacked by Mara, treat these like normal Mara hunts and follow the prompt given.

Momma's coming home to her babies! We can totally roll and RP a fight!
Kadryn: in a valley somewhere on Ayr. Master Orderite Barbarian
After her fun hunting, Kadryn decided she'd had a long enough break and should head home. But when she got to the port she normally used, all she saw was half burnt piers and houses. Something had attacked. Shocked and worried of the people, Kadryn quickly searched the town.
She found no bodies, though she did find fresh graves... and a lot of dead Mara bodies. No boats either. Taking to the skies, Kadryn flew as fast as she could across the oceans; wings beating as hard as possible hoping that nothign bad had happened to any of the other ports.
Had the mara's discovered the ships? Is that why the town had been attacked? She really should have stayed and looked on Eowyn for answers, but her family mattered more. Kirosh could keep the children safe, she was certain of it. But that didn't mean she wasn't worried! Tarlen and Peralian were scamps, what if they snuck out and got into trouble?
Below the sea gave way to misted land and tall rocky spires. She saw smoke rising from where she new the port was. Curving off to the side she flew over it. This port still had people, and in fact looked like they'd just fought off the Mara. She could see Magescian's tossing the rubble and armor left behind by the Mara into piles while others buried the dead, put out fires and healed others.
This port was hurt but still up. What about her home? They were only a day's wagon ride away! She bent her dark ashen wings once more and sped towards home. Please let them be safe, she prayed.
He was furious. No, more than furious. He was strong enough, why wasn't he allowed to fight? He had heard about the Mara, and he knew that his mother had gone off to fight them, but what about him? He was strong enough, and he had been working on his aim with his arrow. He could fight, defend everyone. But noooo, while his mother was out fighting he was stuck at home with his father and his brother.
There had been no action at their home yet, and Tarlen was annoyed about it. "Pa, why can't I go outside? When is Mom coming home?" he asked as he tapped his fingers and looked around. He was bored, and this would not do! He looked over at his brother, what was he doing? Maybe he could do something with his brother, that would make being left home alone a little better. Maybe.

Look below to see Kadryn post! The twins can gain the Loot from the fight, but they don't gain exp, tokens for kills etc.
Kirosh (NPC) and Peralian At home in a valley on Ayr
Kirosh looked up from his mending. "Cause, you're a scamp that will wind up getting into trouble! Right now there are large constructs roaming about the place. That small bow I've been teaching you won't be able to even scratch them, so until Kadryn comes home, you stay indoors." He said in an exasperated tone. Why was Tarlen so like him when he was younger? Now I know why my dad went bald so soon! "I'm not taking either of you out with me unless I've got someone to help keep an eye on you scamps!" Kadryn, come home soon he prayed silently. He couldn't leave the house to do more than a quick scan about the valley because then either of the twins might try to sneak off!
"Momma will be back soon." Peralian said from his prone position by the shelves. He was reading a book, something he'd found more and more interesting as he learned his letters. He looked at his brother. "We can bake some cookies iffn you want to Tarlen." He wasn't bored, not at all! There was books to read, interesting stuff on plants and farming. Toys to mess around with and dismantle, and leaning to cook.
Kadryn, flying hard and feeling the burn in her shoulder and wing muscles sighed with relief when she saw the stone spires that marked the opening to their home valley. Almost there!
She landed and caught her breath. The valley looked fine, no smoke rising so that meant her home was safe! Behind her she heard a clank, metal on rock. Whirling she turned to see two shapes silently come out of the mist. Mara! One glittered brightly and shone like diamond... She rolled her eyes. Diamond! There were Diamond Mara?! How gaudy could you get? The metal she did not fear, it would fall quickly to her mace... the diamond on the other hand.... Chu Lin growled when he saw them as well; That's gonna hurt my teeth... think you can bash a diamond to pieces?
"Not sure... But I can try," She glared at these intruders. This was almost at her home! Not acceptable at all....
Quote:
Fighting 2 Mara's. Feel free to have Tarlen hear the noise of battle first! Metal Mara (28 ) Any Higher stages and LUK's just need a 21-100 and gain 30 EXP
Metal Mara's drop: x15 Bronze, Iron or Copper bars. Roll a d100 to see which: 1-40: Copper 41-81: Bronze 82-100: Iron
Diamond Mara (83) If you have a LUK of 61 to 70: Win is a 51-100 EXP gained: 44
His dad had no faith in him. Giant constructs didn't scare him one bit. He was probably braver than just about every other fighter out there, besides his mother of course. So his bow wouldn't hurt them, he could throw rocks, or find something else to use. He was sure that he would find some way to harm the creatures. "But being inside is so boring..." he whined. He didn't like staying still, and to him he had been staying still in the house for way too long already.
When his brother spoke he put a half smile on his face. He didn't want to bake cookies, he had already made cookies with his brother another time. He wanted to go out and fight. He was about to say so to his brother when he heard something. Grabbing his bow and arrow, that hadn't really gone far from his side since his mother left, Tarlen looked over at Kirosh. "What was that?" he asked excitedly. Maybe he would finally get to see some action!

Kadryn, Kirosh, Peralian Home on Ayr
Kirosh also heard the sounds and reached to grab his bow as well. "You two stay in here. Don't go outside." He said before he left to go check it out.
Peralian though, had other ideas. He quickly got up and scampered off to go grab his small hammer (he used it really only to make things with his uncle and grandpa in the forge) before poking his brother with a huge grin. "Let's go follow him! If he's there we'll be fine.... and I want to see what's happening!' Never mind that it was dangerous and that da had said to stay here. This was their home valley, he knew every good hiding spot! So if it got really bad, he and his twin could just go hide. Not that they'd need of of course.
Kirosh shut the door behind him and sprinted towards the sounds; his hands stringing his bow and grabbing an arrow. Running to the end of the valley he paused when he heard a roar; that sounds like.. Chu Lin he thought. A hopeful smile grew on his face; please let it be so! If that was Chu Lin then Kadryn must be coming home! Slinking to the edge of the rock face that formed one side of the valley he peered around the edge, bow ready to fire an arrow.
He saw with a sure of happiness, that it was Kadryn and her companion. He put his arrow back and grabbed a different one; this one arrow had glyphs of dark purple etched into it's black shaft and dark steel head. When he'd heard of the Mara from the Wild Tribe he'd started crafting special arrows, ones that could damage rock and steel. This one was special: it disrupted the magic of the target it hit. He smirked and aimed at the Diamond Mara. He had no idea if she could handle it on her own, she probably could, but that would delay his hugs and welcoming kisses... it died first.
Kadryn was too busy fighting to notice Kirosh's arrival. Diamonds were tough... not only did she have to make sure it didn't hit er, her mace wasn't shattering it. Cracking it yes, but not enough to take it down. I need more force! She thought, or to hit those weakened areas... why is a rock so freaking fast! The arrow hissed through the air, causing Kadryn to flinch back as it sped by her. Upon impact of the shining form it shattered, sticky swirls of shadow and dark magic exploding to cover the Mara. She smiled, that would be Kirosh. Figures he would here battle and show up! She turned her back on it: Kirosh could deal with it. Instead she swung her mace into the back of the preoccupied Metal Mara, taking out her frustrations on that one. The armor crumpled under the impact; the spikes of her mace jutted out from the front of the Mara's chest having penetrated all the way through the rocky core within. She looked back to see the Diamond Mara clatter to the floor: it's glittering core fleeing the dark magics that sought to consume it.
Stay in here? Don't go outside? Really, who did his father really think he was talking to? Before he could even say anything his brother was missing, and than back with his hammer and poking his side. Tarlen's smile grew wide. He could always count on his brother to have his back! "Let's go!" he said excitement filled in his voice. He was so excited, it was like his greatest wish had been granted!
The two of them left the house, and he just spotted his father's arrow hitting the diamond creature and causing it to shatter into millions of pieces! "Woah..." he said with a laugh as he looked over at his brother. His parents were super awesome! Good thing they were his parents, since that meant he would be as awesome went he grew up.
"Let's go!" he said as he knocked an arrow on his little bow. Maybe his father was wrong, maybe it would harm the creature.
Red, being red, was not one to be kept from a fight. Just because she was young didn't mean that she couldn't smash rocks to bits: She'd show them! She'd show all of them!
It had only taken a moment of laxness on Rangion's part for the little wild Dovaa to escape the canyon confines and start her hunt for rock creatures.
She found plenty of rocks, but none that moved - at least, none that moved, glowed, and posed more of a fight than kicking it off the edge of a cliff - which she did, just to watch it fall.
Suddenly - finally - Red heard a commotion: Voices and the crashing of stone. That sounded promising.
She grinned, taking out her bow, her violet eyes glittering eagerly. "Finally!" she said, scurrying expertly over the uneven stones of Ayr towards the fight, "Some action!"
She rounded the corner wildly and without care to see a family that she knew fighting creatures that were indeed made of stone - stone that sparkled, no less.
She firing her unenchanted or enhanced bow to no effect and waved down at them. She whooped, clambering over the rocks as if born to do it. She fired another arrow, not seeming to care that it had no effect.
I is amused. Both the young ones wanna fight... and the parent's already killed them XD

Kadryn, Kirosh, Peralain. Ord Master Barbarian, Obliv Archer, baby hybrid Home Valley
Kadryn turned to shake her head at Kirosh as the metal one finally died and the globe of magic fled from the bent body.
"You had to attack the one I was going for?"
Kirosh was about to respond when the small arrows from above came down. Chu Lin snarled as one bounced near him. Not that the puny thing could hurt him, it was the fact that someone had fired it so recklessly.
Kadryn and Kirosh both glared up at a small Dovaa that was clambering down.
"You should not be out here!" They both said. They didn't know her, but any child her age shouldn't be wandering about Ayr of all places. Too many large creatures that ate children her size.
Peralian smirked; his brother could always be counted on to be there for when they disobeyed the parents! But when they'd arrived, it looked like their parent's had it in hand and it was over way too quick. Then a dovaa, only a little bit older then him came around the corner firing off (in Peral's opinion) useless arrows. The Mara were down what was this intruder doing wasting her arrows? His brother hadn't done anything that stupid!
He poked his twin, "Let's wait a while before coming out... looks like momma and da are gonna give the intruder a talking to... let em give it her instead of us!"

Tarlen: Home Child Orderite/Oblivionite
He watched in awe as a girl jumped out and started firing arrows, though at that point it was kind of pointless and she was just wasting, plus she could hit his parents! That was why he and his brother hadn't done anything and his arrow stayed knocked on his bow. Best to keep it there just in case something happened. You never knew if more monsters were going to come and attack.
He looked over at his twin and smiled. Of course his brother had thought of such a wonderful idea! "Yes, than they will be mad at her and not at us!" he said excitedly. They made an awesome team.
Red didn't seem to care or notice that she had wasted an arrow. In fact, she didn't care. It was 'her' first kill of something worth killing - that was how she thought of it, true or not.
She made her way over and clambered up the pile of rubble that had once been a mara. She stomped on it repeatedly before taking on a victorious pose that she thought looked tough but, with her small juvenile statue, looked slightly absurd. She crossed her arms and looked up at the grownups, the blazing excitement on her face quickly turning into one of indignant anger, her face flushing red like her nickname.
"Oh yeah?!" She pouted stubbornly. She was the picture of bullish defiance, all fire and drive, and so very immature. "Why not?!" she demanded, kicking one of the mara's stones out of the way to better stand and glare.

Kadryn gave the wild child approaching a glare. As amusing as the kids antics in stomping the fallen mara was, she didn't let a smile crack. She had practice with the twins after all, and smirking just encouraged them. "You are just a child! Very small and armed with something that can't hurt anything more than a Bouken! And children should not be running around in the wilds right now. Where's your parents?"
Kirosh chuckled; "You'll get better luck telling our twins to behave then this one Kadryn. That's Zama, born into the Ayr tribe and well... Stubborn, pesky, and hot headed may just be the perfect words to describe her." He turned his empty sockets towards her.
"There's Mara out here twerp, didn't you hear anything in the tribe about them? Untrained tykes like you need to stay with a guardian... either that or you'll end up dead."
Peralian, hidden off behind them, snickered at this. Yeah, she should just stay home! He and Tarlen at least were with a guardian or near them at least.. plus they'd gotten some training! "We should sneak closer! And try to scare the intruder!" He whispered to his twin. Just a harmless prank.. but fun!
She was stomping on the creature now, which was pretty silly if you asked him. It was already dead, his parents had made sure of that, so why stomp on it? It was childish. The girl looked older than he and his twin, but she didn't seem as mature. When his parents reprimanded her he smirked, ha better for him and Pealian! With all their anger on her there would be none left for the twins. Plus Tarlen could now argue that they had a guardian, and that his parents were right there. So it was all safe.
As always Pealian had a great idea! He nodded back to his twin before looking around to where they should move to. "If we are really careful we can get to that rock right there! It's the closest thing to her." he said with a quick nod. They would have to be careful, but they could do it.
