So this is the basement! But be warned! There are deadly traps (explosives and otherwise. Most of them are Temple of Doom-style) set all around this level! It is also heavily guarded and watched by surveillance cameras. The Balanis Shard lies deep within the Basement and is extremely hard to get to.

Anne-Drew was holding up the rear, but the second her feet came in contact with the basement floor, her shadow came to her. Through various charades Anne learned of the various traps and cameras. She also learned Aly may have seen her shadow, but it was evident since no one was physically guarding the doors to the basement Aly didn't see her shadow. Hopefully the others in the clan could cover them. Her shadow then returned to place and Anne pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. "Well I have no idea how far back the shard is or the exact number of traps, but they are there. The cameras will start to turn about every three minutes. Either we turn them off and arouse suspicion or try to stay out of their view. It's near impossible to get the shard without getting detected." Anne-Drew said to them.
Dakota, at Anne-Drew's description of cameras and whatnot, nodded. He mulled it over for a moment--Which one was better? Turning them off or staying out of their way? Staying out of sight would be such a hassle but turning them off could give them away. "Well, I'm sure we could just turn them off--I doubt that any 'guards' they may send down are much to go up against. They're nothing but weaklings here." He thought aloud, tapping his foot lightly against the marble floor. He noticed that it was a reflective surface which only made him grin slightly. Perfect for him in case someone were to attack. "Dodging cameras seems like it's too much work if we're going to be dodging traps as well..." He added with a quiet sigh.
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆ (Omg, Teddy, you have no idea how much that made me laugh--Dakota is totally the younger brother of the group. 4laugh )
Valve arrived behind Dakota, sighing when they talked about turning off the cameras or avoiding them. "Yeah, dodging is too much work." He said, walking to a wall and looking at one of the cameras. He was to the side of it so that it couldn't see him, but close enough that he could see how it worked. "...You know, turning them off would cause alarm... and they could always turn them back on and find us, right? So what do you say we just get rid of them as we go?" He asked, turning back towards the group. It'd be a much simpler and effective strategy than just turning them off. If they just broke the cameras, then they wouldn't be able to just turn them back on later. "Though, it's your call, I guess." He said, gripping one of the daggers in his pocket.
Demetrius had his mind stuck on what Anne-Drew said what did she learn about me but he had heard the jist of what the options where , he shook his head to clear his mind “for once I agree with Valentine, that would also make exiting simpler and if we can make things easier for ourselves I say we shall”
Demetrius cringed and held his nose he wasn’t fond of the smell of gunpowder and other explosive material “great it smells like the civil war again except there’s no blood to mask the sent” he stood beside Anne-Drew and smirked fiendishly “much better, thank you dear.”

Anne-Drew couldn't help but nudge Demetrius in the side. She cursed his smirking face. Surely his sense of smell wasn't so acute. Then again she doubted he would cringe so if the smell didn't bother him. "You're weird. You know that? What do I even smell like to you Demetrius? No scratch that. I don't think I want to know." Anne-Drew said as her shadow appeared. "I'm going to need you to scout out some of the traps. Stay in the shadows. I'll expand them. Now go. Hurry and report back." As her shadow took off Anne-Drew then glanced at Val's daggers. She took a step back as if to say, there's no way I'm risking getting hit with those. "Dakota do you think you can shine a burst of light right in the lens of the camera before Val hits it. That way if someone happens to be watching the feed it seems more like a technical issue rather than an individual taking out the cameras."
Dakota nodded at Val when he proposed his idea. It sounded like it would be easy enough, plus he loved breaking things. Especially if they were his to break... He redirected his attention to Anne-Drew as she asked him to blind the cameras. "Alright! Should be easy enough. I'll send some sparks its way so it does not look like a random light coming out of the blue." He said as a ball of light formed in his hand. The light soon had sparks flying off of it, as though it were some kind of sparkler-stick but without the stick. He made sure he was standing in a position where the camera could not see him and he was safe before sending the sparks up to the camera lens. "Throw it whenever, Val." He said, standing back and letting Val finish it off.

Pain...
Such a beautiful thing
Demetrius Donavan
"What a good idea Anne-Drew" Demetrius watched as Dakota made a ball of sparkly light and then threw it at the camera. Demetrius smirk grew at Anne-Drew calling him weird, what did she suspect after all, all his sense were heightened he made an off hand comment well they waited for Valentine to shot "it's not what you think" he hovered his mouth near her neck and chuckled "although it does smell good too."
Valve nodded as they talked about the plan. After Dakota threw the sparks, he smiled. It was somewhat of a rare sight, as he usually tried to keep a monotone face most of the time. He was enjoying himself though. Val waited only a moment, then threw the knife at the camera from the side. It stabbed straight through to the other end. Val walked over to it to get a good look. "Wow... it looks like that amount of sparks might've short circuited the camera. Well, not that it would be doing anything soon either way." He said with a smirk. After a small struggle, he also managed to get the dagger out of the side. "So what do you say? Do this for all of 'em?" He said, returning to his normal face and shoving the dagger back into his pocket.
Anne-Drew rolled her eyes. "Alright Casanova. Let's see if it's not what I think. I've changed my mind. I want to know and what's so funny?" Anne-Drew thought to him as she walked forward and her shadow returned. "I haven't found all the traps, but I do know where not to step. I'd take my advice unless you want to get blown up. She spread out the shadows making x's where it was safe to step. "Well if we keep this up we should be done in about what five minutes?"
Demetrius was surprised that his antics had caught her attention "Baby's Breath and Forget-Me-Not's; both have faint lovely smells that linger and make you want to reminisce of the sweeter thing's in life, what's funny is I always notice you by your natural sent even though your blood is quiet intoxicating and how I could easily sink my teeth in but I much rather do this" he gently pushed her hair out of the way and kissed her neck.
Demetrius when back to his composed face "the sooner it's over the better, are we ready to continue?"

Anne-Drew face immediately grew red from Demetrius kiss. It was time to grab the shard and go. Before his words cemented themselves in her head or her cheeks became the same color as her eyes. "...You're still weird, but you were right. It wasn't exactly what I thought. But no, I wouldn't exactly say the way you notice me is funny. I didn't know you had such warped sense of humor..." Anne-Drew thought to him then turned to Dakota. "Still got enough energy to conjure up some sparks Dakota? This system seems to be working well. Might as well keep it up."
Demetrius smirked when he saw Anne-Drew's face go red"what where you thinking I would say and what word would you use instead of funny" he whispered"I hope you don't hold it against me darling, its these unquenchable urges I have" he snickered quietly, the whole time looking forward though he did glance back to see her reaction.

Anne-Drew's face still was red and Demetrius words still left her tongue tied. As she reflected on how to respond she could clearly hear his snickers and every now and then catch a glimpse of his smirking face. It was a little irksome to her and yet her face still wouldn't return to its usual pale coloring. "I don't know what I was thinking before now. But I do know I would not have guessed you'd use the word intoxicating. As to what word I would use beside funny, that's easy. Weird, warped, unconventional, and basically every other word that is the opposite of funny. Much like how I'd describe you Demetrius. How could I not hold it against you? Especially when you're snickering and smirking so. Keep your eyes forward. Before you accidentally trigger an alarm." Anne-Drew thought to him but it was evident her shadow didn't mind such actions. It was in the way it wasn't hovering around Anne-Drew and was still focused on discovering where the hidden traps were.
Val sighed as the other two continued to talk about things that he had already deemed not worth listening to. He wasn't really concerned about what they were doing. He was too busy looking around the place, looking for little things that could help them or stop them later. That is, until he remembered something that Anne had said earlier. 'The cameras will start to turn about every three minutes.' How long had it been since they'd been down here? He summoned a small ball of light to see some of the cameras around the room and, sure enough, they were moving. One of them was starting to turn right towards the group.
"Guys!" Valve threw a dagger at the camera before it could get anybody's faces. It hit right in the lens. "If you're going to just stand around here, could you be a bit more careful about it?" He said, walking over to take his dagger out of the camera. Val sighed, looking at the two with a disapproving expression. "Just be more careful. I'm afraid it might've picked up the back of Anne's head. Part of Dakota's, if they were lucky." He said, walking back over to them.
