Alex stretched his wings as far as he could, until they popped gently. Sighing happily, the harpy shifted in his black gnarly tree. Resting up here was the best. A full view of the outside commons (okay not really full, but full enough) and the breeze to boot. What a nice napping spot.
As the harpy yawned, he spotted a familiar shape. Michael! The girl-siren-with-a-dude's-name. She was pretty nice. Launching from the tree, he pushed himself higher into the air, moving effortlessly to be above Mi. Then, swiftly, the harpy dove, dive bombing beside Mi. He barely skimmed the earth, a foot away from crashing ungracefully. Righting himself, he turned to float before the siren. Alex, ever the show off, grinned toothily. "Hey Michael! How ya doin'?"

She’d been quite happy with the air space of Amity. No huge flocks to fly around, no severe storms, no one flying up to nag you about flight form or showing off your assets to passing boils which wasn’t her fault it was more the dang dress they had given her that day. The sun on her wings, the wind in her hair, Michael was just tickled pink with how perfect Amity was for flying. She could use a good flight but alas- she was told to walk for the first few days, get a bearing on the ground level before taking to the skies. A sigh, her earwings twitched before she looked up- just in time to see Alex swooping towards her. A caw of alarm she moved to remain out of his way, yet, he was fine, no crashing at all. “You gave me a bit of a start there!” She aid, brushing off. “But other then that I am fine. How are you? Enjoying the sky is sunny day?”

"That I am! It's super great. Sun shinning, the wind's just right. Why the heck are you earth bound?" The harpy moved closer to Michael and inspected her wings curiously. They didn't seem broken or at all damaged. Maybe she was a little shy to be flying while wearing her toga-ish gettup? Hmm, that didn't seem like it'd be too big of a problem.
"Are you like, sick or somethin'?" He asked with sincere worry in his voice.

She had been trying to aquaint herself with the land but the second Alex asked? Her wings spread wide, one flap was all it took to send her skywards, spinning in the air happily before fluttering. “No- I was trying to adapt to this place by memorizing the area from the earth- but Mmm!” She stretched in the sunlight, basking in it’s warm glow. There really nothing better than a sunny day for a flight. “I haven’t been sick since I was a hatchling. Much less prevented from flying. It’s cute that you worried for my sake though.” She grinned. “What brings you flapping about though? Is there an event going on by chance?”

Grinning from ear to ear, the harpy let out a whoop of joy when Mi took to the air. Oh, she had been trying to get used to the land? That made sense. Alex hadn't really done that, but he rarely got lost. A little trait he had picked up from his heritage. Always knowing the path to take to get to any place.
"Well a friend worries about a friend. Nah, no events. I was just enjoying a nap in that tree," He flicked a claw towards a tall, gnarled black tree, "But then I saw you so I ditched the nap. Wanna take a fly around and chat?"

Michael winked and did a few small acrobatics in the air at her own leisure. Flight was meant for fun and games- as well as the whole attacking from above and fleeing and stalking and hunting of course. “So we are friends then?” She asked, genuinely curious. “Good. I did not wish to assume, and asking is..odd? But Eventually one knows… or one is told!” A tiny happy peep left her as she nodded, hovering before gliding to his side. “Chat away! It has been a while since I have conversed while mid flight. Usually it’s just to you know, yell at seagulls or crows. Crows are not so bad, but augh- gulls. Really, the rudest flocks and so… grabby.” Earwings ruffled. “Er- forgive I just have had many a sour experience with gulls back home is all.”

Alexis laughed and shook his head. Gliding beside the ghoul, he couldn't help but grin. "I know whatcha mean. Glad you agree to being my friend."
It was nice to fly, but flying with someone was much better than being alone. Company made many things bad, but this was definitely not one of them. Motioning with a claw, the harpy began to glide across the open spaces of campus, glad just to feel the brush of wind against his feathers and the warmth of the sun upon him.
"Nah, it's cool! I used to get attacked by crows all the time when flying deliveries. The trick is to have a little pouch of bread crumbs that you can throw at them. They like it." Alex turned and did a barrel roll once, "So what about gulls? I haven't been around them a lot. They sound like pains in the a**."

Michael cooed at the word friend, earwings fluttering in pleasure. Music to her ear… wings. Friends were all over Amity it seemed, and she was more than happy to be making them left and right… and apparently up as well! Beaming as she spun in the air next to him, Michael followed where he pointed, noting the way paths wove and which things stood out. How the land itself curved and rolled in places, where trees blocked the sight of the land and where the land lacked any paths at all. She also noted the lake which was no as pretty as the ocean, (nor, did it smell as good). “You fly delivers? Or did?” That had her wondering. “Like a messenger harpy?” Was that even a thing? Michael was used to delivering her own messages, besides, wasn’t it better to talk to a person face to face? Or was it packages? Alex however was going into gulls and Michael cawed. “Bread crumbs- if only gulls could be sent off much the same. No- they steal your food. Especially if it’s fresh fish. They come in packs. One will distract while the others come in to steal. It’s very ordered and methodical. They work to get it stolen… But then they fight over it. Because gulls share nothing my friend. Not food, not air space, not even the sun. You think you can just rest on the beach but no- they’ll come and poop on you. Poop! Can you imagine just minding your own business when plop. Right on you head- worse, in your hair. Then when you leave tyo wash it out, they take your spot.” Michael’s face was red with frustration- she had a lot of issues with gulls as it were. “Crows are much better but trust me Alex. Gulls are the worst. If you see them- run them off. Never let them near your nest. They’re just jerks. White grey sqwaking jerks who are mean and will harass you no matter what you’re doing even if what you are doing is nothing at all.” Huffing, her earwings were pricked upwards. Midflight she ruffled her feathers- trying to take a few deep breathes to calm herself down. Then- “So, what’s it like where you live?” Back to her happy self.

Wincing at the details of the horrible gals, the harpy let out a soft chuckle, "You weren't kidding. They sound better off dead." He didn't like to harm flying creatures if he could help it, but those gulls didn't sound like the type of flying creature worth having around. Alex wondered if Father had ran into them, and what tricks he had used to overcome the gulls. For a moment, the boil fantasized about writing a letter home, sending it on the breeze. That wouldn't happen. Sobering up, he muttered halfheartedly under his breath, "They wouldn't respond anyway."
His melancholy broke when asked about his home. Grinning, the harpy nodded, "We lived in a forested area. Tons and tons of green leafy treetops spread out everywhere. Near our house is this little pool, I guess about half the size of the lake here on campus. We would swim and play there. our home was the oldest, biggest tree. Most of the branches we've worked to crisscross and grow to support rooms and halls. Though honestly, they're nothing like the buildings here." Alex caste a wistful gaze to the dorms, those massive, imposing structures of wood and brick.
"My room was sorta small, much smaller than the one here at amity, but it had the best views and most of the flock stayed away."

Michael nodded. Gulls man, the jerkiest. She listened though and smiled. “I never had a room… just… a nest. Everyone has one. So a room is odd to me, even here. But I like it.” Looking down at the Lake she began a decent. “I think I will go for a swim- will you join me, or another time?”

"Makes sense." He smiled slightly at the mention of the lake. It sounded tempting and cool. Maybe the offer was meant to be polite, but it was so... After a minute of hesitating he grinned, almost shyly, "I'd like to join you. Is that all right?" iStoleYurVamps How long do prps need to be to count? o uo

Nodding Michael dove down into the water coming up to chirp- "Only if you're a good swimmer as a flyer!"
