Quote: Text to: CamiBack from mission, totally alive. Just a broken jaw, probably going to be asleep for a while so they can fix it. See you when I wake up. Tell Otto for me? That was not the best text to get in the evening from someone you loved. Cami had already been in a state of mild anxiety before Maebe left despite the company of Taym, who she knew from experience could be a decent block. Yet Maebe was the Moon so did that mean she'd be the one taking any and all hits? Cami was learning that being involved with someone in the defensive division was going to be probably as nerve-wracking as being involved with someone who tended to run headlong into battle. AKA anyone in Sun Division. Rolling out of bed before Otto could even register what was happening Cami started to rummage through clothing. Almost without thinking, but catching herself in time before stripping down to get a bra and actual pants on, Cami dashed into the bathroom coming out moments later to hover. "Maebe's back. In the infirmary with a broken jaw." We have to go down there was the immediate implication as she stood at the edge of the bed, fingers clenched into blankets.

Otto barely woke up when Cami fled the bed. A small murmur and then a roll to his other side was most of any life to be seen. As she readied herself, he assumed she was late for a shift. That was, until he felt her leaned over him. He turned his head, ice blue eyes peering behind heavily lids. Her news took a couple of seconds to fully register. Oh s**t. An injury was not a big deal. It meant she was alive, and able to recover. She wasn't missing a limb. She wasn't drained of blood. Those assurances were what kept him calm. The blond fumbled as he rose from bed, quietly nodding that he'd be along soon. He got dressed, barely even bothering to let Cami leave first, because at this point what did he care? He brushed his teeth, but didn't bother with his hair, tossing a hood up instead. He was ready, and going out the door with Cami as quick as he could. They wouldn't be able to do much for Maebe, aside from being by her side as company. To let her know they were glad she was back.

Cami wanted to kiss Otto for understanding and actually leaned in to do just that before they left the dorm, a swift touch of lips that still made her just a little shy. Maybe one day she would master the butterflies that swirled in her stomach every time she got near Otto like this. Maybe they never would. It'd be interesting to find out. At the moment, though, they were more like fuzzy moths slipping and sliding through her insides as the redhead linked fingers with her roommate near the entrance to the infirmary. Her first impulse was to run headlong in and demand to see Maebe but knew that was going to get her absolutely nowhere but thrown out. So with Otto's hand in hers the redhead stepped into a place she'd hoped to not come for quite some time yet couldn't seem to escape. The life of a Sun Hunter. Counting paces in her head kept Camille's steps measured and from being frantic. A few of the beds were taken but only one of them had a wealth of blonde hair like sunshine spread over the pillow, only one of them was Maebe Grace Bertrand. Only one of them was important to Cami. Stopping next to the bed she couldn't see the wiring but could see bruising where a hand had taken Maebe's face to snap her jaw. Reaching out to lightly touch Maebe's hand with her free one, Cami tried to smile. "Hey."

The blond teen also felt butterflies as they kissed before leaving. Yet the act itself felt so natural. They'd been friends for over a month, and a lot of physical cuddling and affections had been shared. Kissing had been added now. Cami was right, though. It did make them feel like shy and akward thirteen years olds again. Otto panicked when he saw the text as they left the room. However, since he was already headed there, he didn't feel too compelled to hurry and scar Cami. After all, now tat he thought of it, wasn't this part of their promise? Otto had asked her to tell him anytime she needed him. So of course, being bedridden with a broken jaw, she needed him. He followed Cami inside the Infirmary, his hand holding hers tightly. They finally reached Maebe, who looked terrible. His heart ached to imagine what she'd had done to her. The bruise was nasty looking. Her poor face. He stood by Cami, waiting anxiously as she spoke to Maebe herself.

They'd given Maebe the good stuff. Though her face was swollen, and bumpy, and her lips were puffed with injury and broken as well, they'd done their best to clean her up after wiring her jaw shut. Now, she was floating on a cloud of morphine and weightlessness, barely able to keep her eyes open. It was the greatest high, and she was enjoying herself immensely. When Cami and Otto finally got down to her, she turned her head just enough to be able to look at them, and winced at even that small movement. She couldn't smile, but her eyes were twinkling with happiness at their presence (and the presence of the unicorn prancing behind them, ooh look at it go.) She picked up her phone, which had quickly become her source of communication, and typed out one word on the screen. Hey.Otto did not get any typing, but she did reach out a hand to him. It wasn't reaching for him to take, or hold, but instead she seemed to be pointing the back of her hand at him. She held it up flat, fingers all pointed upward, and splayed them carefully while wiggling them for attention. Her eyes crinkled, the only sign that she would have smiled if she could have. On her fingertips were a whole array of very badly broken fingernails.

Wincing slightly at the nails in a moment of female solidarity Cami didn't interrupt what was clearly a bit of an inside joke she didn't quite understand. As gently as she could the redhead eased herself onto the bed at Maebe's feet, crossing her legs without once taking Otto's hand out of her own. He had another one if he needed it and, right now, she needed the one she had. She also wanted to reach out to the hand the blonde was using to tap out words on her phone and link with it as well but communication was important. Or something. Watching the moment finish and pass she noticed the fancier coat draped over the chair and was able to smile more easily. "Hey, so, guess you didn't break those nails for nothin' champ."

She looked bad, but if she was well enough to make sassy jokes, she'd be just fine. Otto gave her a a small smile of relief, accepting her sass silently. He remained standing, his hand firmly placed within Cami's. "I told you broken nails don't count." He said with a straight face. In all likely hood he'd probably kiss each and every one of them better for her.

The most Maebe could do was make a muffled, whining sound, as she then showed Cami the broken nails as if to say how could he?!. Then she put her hand down, and closed her eyes for just a few seconds. Colors danced behind her eyelids. Her hand lifted, and her eyes re-opened. She was typing - her preferred method of communication when it hurt this bad to even try to talk. She didn't push enter, choosing instead to just show them the text - because it was for both of them. Have either of you seen Taym in here today? She'd gotten his message. She knew he was alive. That wasn't enough.

Shaking her head Cami frowned slightly. "No, I haven't seen Taym in a bit which isn't really unusual. He's not Captain Social." Try to be normal. Try not to be horrified by what you saw because it was relatively nothing compared to what it could have been. Try not to focus too hard on the smells and the morphine which she'd been given in regular doses for almost a week when regrowing all of her skin. Her free hand tugged lightly at the ends of her hair, losing herself in remembering for a minute, the only time Cami was ever selfish. She selfishly tended to dwell on things that had scared her and made her want to grab Otto close in a hug before flopping on top of the patient. All three of them belonged upstairs, in bed, as soon as possible. A deeper frown. "Does Taym have anything to do with why your jaw is broken?"

"Um, I didn't see him here in the infirmary. He's probably fine." As far as he knew. He checked Twitter, and it seemed the man had posted some time ago. He was just fine. He accidentally saw a rather gross text from Rep. He tried to refrain from gagging, snapping his phone shut and making a disgruntled series of facial expressions. He laid the phone down on the bed. May that image burn in Hell.

Maebe pulled her phone back and deleted the question, making a short, smug snort before she began to type furiously. But a moment later, she deleted what she'd written, and started again - this time, less angrily. We were on the mission together. So yes. But he didn't do it, some crazy b***h who looks like a girl I used to bone did.Not being in the infirmary meant he was probably better off than she was, so Maebe left the topic alone at that, and deleted the text again. She started typing, carefully this time. Then she turned the phone to them once more. I'm going to be jaw wired for a week. This is murder. I need magazines, makeup, a plug for my phone, and lots of visits to keep me interested in you both. She pulled the phone back and added one last thing at the bottom. And some n***s. She looked at them both pointedly.

Wondering what could have put that look on Otto's face Cami really only had one resource to check and it was the most obvious -- Twitter. Reading the conversation, realizing what had likely put that look on his face because it put it on hers as well, the redhead let out a rude noise. Tapping furiously at the screen for a long moment she closed out the app and shoved her phone back in her bra. Right where it belonged. Cami was in an odd enough mood from the night before to frown at the idea that if she didn't visit enough Maebe would lose interest in her altogether. Mention of n***s had her making another vaguely rude noise before raising an eyebrow. "What, don't you have enough already? And prepare yourself for some Moby d**k and Dostoevsky." Someone (Maebe) had lit a fire beneath Cami's a** and she was teasing, relentlessly, the helpless Maebe. "You should tell me more about the crazy b***h you used to bone. Is it catching?" Cami didn't especially want to go crazy from having sex with Maebe. That would just give Mimsy far too much fuel.

Otto would bring magazines and anything else for Maebe's pleasure. But he certainly would not be sharing n***s for her. A nude Otto was better seen live. A treat for her when she got better, maybe. Still, the ability to flap her gums taken away was likely one of the worst things for Maebe Grace Bertrand to ever go through. Nio Love otto muse is being tight lipped

Never enough. She couldn't have typed that faster. But those book names got a bratty look, before she muffled a quick choke of a laugh and took the phone back. Sasha was a delicate subject. They'd only been together once, but it had been rough, and a learning experience for both of them. What she couldn't figure out was why the girl had tried to kill her this time around - if that really had been her at all. She'd been cold and vicious last time, but nothing compared to this. Name was Sasha. And God, I hope not. She for real tried to kill me! They tried to drag me away and keep me like some puppet for their master. That s**t was really twisted. She hoped that Sasha's apparent turncoating meant she was no longer on the island.. other wise walking in the halls was going to be a strange, fearful experience. bittiface we haven't hit 800 yet >> <<
