Bellatrix has already posted some of her family outside of the door. They have their instructions: NO ONE is to enter.
Slightly smug, as these members of her serpentine family are agressive, some of them even venomous, she sits on a pillow in the sitting room, chatting with Casey.
Voldemort is upstairs, already to bed for the night.

Signis was heading 'home' after a hard day's work in the forge. He'd not realized that the hiding of his books had been faulty, and as he reached the stone door of the cave he suddenly realized something was very different... There were a bunch of snakes around the front door....
Ooookay... Something wasn't quite right here...
"Bellatrix?" Signis tried to call through the door.

Bellatrix hears the hissing, even as she hears the faint sound of Signis's voice through the thick, stone door. She stands, Casey rising in the air next to her, and starts toward the door.
"Just tease him a little, brothers and sisters," Bellatrix hisses through the door, smiling in a twisted manner.
Hissing, two or three of the snakes rise into strike position, hissing out warnings to Signis.
"It looks like they don't want you coming in, DARLING," Bellatrix says through the door, the last word with a little harshness in her tone.

Awww hell... Did she find the... Probably... Son of a... Signis sighs and takes a step back from the strike ready serpants, not wanting to risk getting bitten, though he knew that some snakes have a horribly long strike range, and some could spit...
He hoped these were neither of the two... He hoped they weren't venomous either but that was VERY wishful thinking on his part.
"So... Bellatrix... How was your day?" He asked thorugh the door.

"My day? Oh, it was STUPENDOUS! By the way, Signis, you need to learn to hide things better!" there is the sound of something hitting the stone door as Bellatrix kicks the door with the bottom of her foot. "How was YOUR day? Find any more books to try and HIDE around here?"

"No, not really... Just worked in my forge..." Signis winced when his suspicions turned out to be true. He sighed and shook his head a bit, keeping his eyes on the snakes a moment. "Would a 'I can explain' suffice?"

There is silence on the other side of the door, as Bellatrix consults Snakey, Nyoko, and Casey in quiet hisses.
Casey, always the voice of reason, convinces Bellatrix to open the door.
Leaning against the door, she hisses, "Once more, my lovelies," and two of the snakes ready to strike lunge out at Signis. On purpose, they miss, and start to slither off, the others following.
"Away from the door, Snakey and Nyoko, come with me to the kitchen, I need some tea," and without another word, she goes to the kitchen, Snakey and Nyoko slithering behind her, while Casey slithers in the air around her shoulders.

Signis entered the cave, being careful to watch his step as he entered... Lord knows what OTHER suprises she might have in store for him. He looked about, and listens for the tell tail noise of motion. He closes the door behind him and headed into the sitting room, only to spy Bellatrix heading for the kitchen.
"I was wondering if I might could help you with Voldemort is all..." He said, as he entered the kitchen. "And the other books... Were for... Later... a MUCH, much later date... and I probably wouldn't have acted on them even then... I know your feelings on that subject..."

Bellatrix is cutting up a lemon with a much larger knife than necessary. When she is done, and he is done talking, she turns, pointing at him with it. "You had best hope you are telling me the truth. Because, I'm sorry, I am not getting knocked up, ever. And, you already have at least one kid that I know of," with that, she turns her attention back to the lemon slice, and waits for the tea to be ready. "You shouldn't want any more."

Signis eyed the knife warrily and he frowned. "I have two children for the record... Tho I don't think the other accepts me anymore, or any Pae as a relative for that matter... as for my son, who you have met... He's... I don't know how to put it..." He ran a hand through his hair.
"But you don't have anything to worry about... "

"Well, you have two. More than enough," Bellatrix says, pouring the tea now. "Look, I am sorry that you think your family hates you, or something, but you probably need to try and make things right with at least one of your kids. This is just one thing I won't budge on, for anyone, Signis. I'm sorry," she picks up her cup, taking a second to glance at him, before sipping at the tea.

"That's perfectcally understandable Bellatrix, and I respect that, I will TRY to make amends with my son, as he's the only one I know of that I can speak with right now... BUt I don't think it will go well..." He sighed and watched her for a moment. "I do love you, and as much as I would love to have a child with you, I respect your feelings, so I will no longer push the issue..."

"You'll never know unless you try, Signis," Bellatrix says, shrugging a little.
She then nods. "Thank you," she says. After a moments pause, she quirks an eyebrow at him. "You know, that was actually quite rational. Piss me off again, I need to throw something at you. . . ." the corner of her lips twitching.

Signis blinked for a moment. "Uhhhh... I uh... didn't finish one of your presents on time?" He didn't know what the hell she wanted him to make her mad again, or why she needed to throw something at him... But for some reason he felt he might as well comply.

Bellatrix rolls her eyes, and playfully hits his chest. "Signis, I was joking. Lighten up," she shakes her head, laughing a little. "I was, also, merely commenting on the fact that for once, we have had a pretty civilized argument. Wouldn't you agree?"
