As he meandered down the forest path Delri fluffed and folded his wings to his back, tilting his head to admire the branches craning overhead. This was a section of the lands he'd not been to before, and he had to admit that the mixed birdsong overhead was soothing and inviting. Most of the forest inhabitants considered him fearlessly, which told him that no Kalona or Skinwalker called this area home or hunting ground.
"A good place to raise a family." He observed, to himself more than anything. Not that he had to worry about such concerns as of yet... But it was always a good thing to make a note of.
Safe zones were shrinking, or so it seemed, though his view on the matter were a bit skewed after that mess with the invading Kalona herd and all of the destruction that remained in their wake. Successful or not, they'd made a mess of the otherwise-peaceful lands before departing of their own will or being driven out by the natives. It would take some tome to recover from that, no doubt. But the peace of this place seemed undisturbed, at least.
The appearance of a twilight hued mare made him tilt his head, considering her as she approached. She seemed of distinctly non-hostile nature, which made the muscles in his shoulders and wings relax. Dropping his head in a quick bow he offered a welcoming grin, ears swiveled to catch the sound of her voice.
"Good Day." He greeted in return. "I thank you for your offer, but no, I do not need anyone's aid. I am not precisely looking for anyone in particular.. Just a bit of an explorer by nature."
He gave a bit of a shrug of his wings, ducking his head just enough to hide modestly behind his forelock for a moment. It was a bit of a soft It's silly of me without actually putting the thought into words... But most tend to think that of him, especially after the war, so he was getting into the habit of 'beating them to the punch' so to speak. It was hard to call him a fool when he admitted as much without a word, glittering-crystal eyes wide in a way that he still hoped was endearing.
"I agree it is a pleasant change from all the storms as of late." He nodded, finding her amiable enough. And he meant "storm" in more ways than one, but she could take it however she liked. He cast an eye up at the clouds, making sure it was still relatively clear for his return flight. "Astraea? A lovely name for a lovely lady, I am most pleased to meet you."
His grandfather had been one for propriety, and his sire had a flare for the dramatic, so it was true to his family the way he returned her modest greeting. Sweeping his wings wide and low, he bowed with one foreleg tucked under his chest and chin resting on his outstretched foreleg. When he straightened he favored her with a grin. "I am Delrialto of the SilverShadow Clan... But Delri suits me well."
