[1v1] Daily Duties (Sunmoon) [FIN]

Chel texted Chris to get his a** down to the training field.

She was finally cleared from the infirmary to get back into spars without Tenebrae pumping FEAR across her, which was an excellent feeling.

Which meant she needed to kick someone's a** now.

Which meant Chris.

Chris had groaned at his phone, rolled out of bed, and stomped his a** down to the training field as requested.

He didn't have to be happy about it. He'd already worked out today and was still feeling the resulting burn in his muscles. He needed an after-workout nap.

He tugged at his hair, trying to get it into some semblance of not-hot-mess as he spotted Chel and stumbled towards her.

"You look way too chipper."

"Look ma, no FEAR," she said, in a way-too-chipper voice.

Tenebrae was summoned in a matter of seconds and aimed at Chris' face while her own tongue stuck out of her mouth in concentration. "You ready, or you need a few minutes to prepare your surrender speech."

"'bout time you got healed up."

It was complete reflex that had him summoning Ava as soon as Chel leveled her weapon at him. He lifted his arm like a shield and shrugged.

"Guess I'm ready. " He twisted and struck out quickly, knowing if he didn't get the first move Chel would have his a** in a heartbeat.

The arrow disappeared as Chris closed in, and she flipped the bow sideways so as to make it a blade once more. As Chris approached, she parried his pata (which was a really fun thing to say) and whacked him on the arm with the blunt side of the blade.

"C'mon, you know I'm not just ranged. You can do better than that, Cap," she chided.

Chris tried not to look like a ******** dork when he grinned at the nickname. Even the blunt end of her weapon could be painful though. He drew his arm back and spun, trying to get away from her weapon. He ducked slightly, swinging his arm out to hit her in the ribs with the plated metal face of his weapon.

Her bow was way larger than his pata, so he'd have to keep from meeting it head on if he could. "Speed it up, Sunshine."

Chel stumbled backwards, reeling a little bit as Chris hit somewhat close to her scar. It wasn't hit directly so it didn't bleed or reopen (thank god) but it certainly wasn't a fun feeling. Then again, neither was getting hit anywhere else.

"Woah. Low blow man," she said, adjusting her arm and stepping back into a ready position. Alright. She could do this.

He cringed a little, but no intense FEAR healing meant that she should be okay for any blow. And he saw rib hits in his future, so it wasn't like they weren't on even footing. "Sorry, but that's how fights work," he said with a shrug.

Nonetheless, he aimed his next hit higher, going for the ball of her shoulder. He was an a*****e, but he wasn't that much of an a*****e.

Chel pouted and spun as Chris hit her shoulder, ending up behind him as he finished his lunge. She quickly turned her bow and shot an arrow into the back of his neck and then slid backwards to get away from any retaliation.

"Please tell me more about this "fighting" you speak of, Teacher Chris," she sassed, sticking out her tongue just to spite him. "I have yet to learn of it."

"Ow," he hissed, ducking his head and spinning to far her again.



Chris grit his teeth and lunged, blade pointed, but he hit the edge of the bow instead of Chel. He ******** up. He ******** up so bad.

Chel deflected the pata once more, this time pushing him down and plunging the blade into a nearby bale of hay.

She then began laughing because the blade got stuck and that s**t was HILARIOUS.

"Oh my god you look so dumb!" she told him, all while firing arrows straight at his butt. "Good thing your FEAR shield protects your a** too." Poor Chris. He had Chel for a cousin.

His ears might have burned a little pink. Getting stuck in a bale of hay was really embarrassing, okay? Luckily it wasn't particularly difficult to get unstuck.

He rounded on Chel again, frown firmly in place. There was no way he was going to win this, but he at least wasn't giving up. He looked for an unguarded opening and then struck out at her hip, grunting.

Chel intercepted his pata by holding her own blade horizontally. The pata landed inches from her face, and Chel was visibly worried about the condition of her amazing complexion.

"Oy these are good hits, man," she encouraged him. "I'm so proud."

Chris looked severely unsatisfied with that little praise. "Oh thanks, mom." He said, batting his eyelashes. "You're doing so good honey, it doesn't matter that you're getting your a** handed to you. You tried."

Salty Chris was very salty.

Chris' comment about Chel being like his mom made her gag. Chris' mom was the biggest drag. Second only to her own mother.

She paused and said, "Yo bitchtits, you ever heard of just takin' a compliment when it's givin' to you?" she said. "You sound like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed."
