Marcus had sent the trainee a text, simple and plain. Come down to the field to spar, see how he was doing. Catch up on what was going on. Maybe have a beer after. Marcus was just curious to see how the moon was doing, and if he'd gotten his own fear under better control. He hoped so at least, for the moon's own sake.

The question of weather Jason was able to control his own fear was a moot point for him; he was well aware of his own weaknesses in that regard and as hard as he tried not to, there were times he was unable to not act like a idiot in the fact of something truly horrifying. The encounter with Medea a prime example. But then there was the odd occasion he was able to rise up the occasion. So all in all, it was a constant battle of the mind. The text was received that morning, and with a glance at the sender Jason grabbed his hunter coat and headed to the training fields, happy to catch up with the senior moon hunter. "Hey Marcus!" He called out with a wave. "Long time no see! Have you been well?" Or as well as a hunter could be on Deus Ex

His mental clock was close enough to the actual clock on his wrist, and as Jason arrived Marcus had to smile. Fast as he'd always been. It was slightly refreshing to have a hunter who would still answer texts and calls promptly. Unlike a few in the new batch who would treat things like it was all play or 'optional'. "Hey. Been doing...okay.Finally got some battle scars." He smiled, pulling his hair back to show the scar over his eye and mouth, as well as the beginnings of what covered his right side. "My advice? Always check your runic pendant. It could save your life. In my case... it didn't until I might as well have been dead." It was an eerie fact, that he had, for a few seconds- been dead. "But anyway, wanted to see how you were doing, take some time to practice. You know, same old same old."

It shouldn't have come as a shock to see Marcus had acquired a few scars since their last meeting, but he did feel his gut clench at seeing the marks left by who knows what. "Uhh, r-right." He would have to make a mental note to keep his pendant close. Which he always did, but half the time it never worked when he wanted it to. "Um...t-they don't look so bad though...g-gives you a... rugged look?"
'Why the hell would I do that?!'
"Er. y-yeah, I'm doing...alright.." He scratched his head, putting on a smile and trying not to think about the nightmares he had been having as of late. "W-working as hard as I can."

Poor guy still had that stutter. Marcus thought it would have been gone by then but didn’t look like it. Maybe Jason just needed a speech class or something. Whatever. Rubbing his chin and gingerly touching a scar, Marcus shook his head. “Nothing rugged. More like mangled. If I could show you my side, you’d see. ******** me up pretty bad but.. guess I wasn’t put in moon for nothing?” He’d lived through it, though just barely. Rolling his shoulders back an arm popped followed but Dis in hand flickering in delight. He missed being able to play with Zanth… if by extension of Marcus and a spar. “Dis says hey by the way. Wants a date with Zanth but… Let’s not and never say we did.”

"I'm j-just glad you lived through it." Jason replied. "Shows how tough you are." He in turn flicked his wrist, Zanth appearing in one hand and holding him front of himself with a frown. He may have agreed to spar but he knew he'd probably get his a** handed to him. Marcus was way more experienced then him, but at the very least he could learn a few things about blocking and attacking. "....." Jason grimaced at the idea of their weapons going on a date. Just...no. "...Zanth says he'd love to...and he says a few other thigns, but I don't want to repeat them."

Ah well what did he expect? Zanth to be PG? No, he fully anticipated poor Jason o still be subjected to his weapon’s antics. Much like he was to Dis’s. Who was playing some very colorful commentary on things to train and practice on and with. Suggestions Marcus did as he always had done and ignored. “Exactly. But, we got our blades out, now let’s start swinging. It’s been a while since we fought so show me what you’ve got and what’s new moon bro.” The title came with a smirk as Marcus got ready to defend or strike back.

Jason was only to happy to show what he had learned in the others absence. So he took his stance,taking a note on how Marcus was standing before launching forwards ...Only to trip over his feet and land on his face. ...He wouldn't mind dying now. It would be less embarrassing. HP: 50 Damage: 0 Charge: 0/3

He had the most opportune moment- only to trip and fall flat on his face. Laughing at the sight, Marcus walked over, hoisting the moon up before patting him on the back. “Don’t be so tense. I’m not here to grade you or anything. This is just a spar dude.” Spinning Dis in hand, Marcus smiled, scar tugging at his cheek. “Loosen up, stretch out. Do what you got to do.” A short break later and Marcus smiled. “Now- my turn.” No other warning, the moon hunter lunged, aiming to stab Jason in the torso.

Groaning, Jason pushed himself off the ground and wiped the dust form his face, mortified but unhurt. "R-right...O-okay then." He had been very tense actually. Getting to his feet, he took a few deep breaths to relax, stretching his arms as well, and then took up another stance. Marcus wasn't going to go easy on him and he was happy for that, no matter how much stronger he was. As the older moon came at him he stepped to his right, sticking his leg out to try and trip Marcus up as he slashed at one side of his waist. HP: 44 Damage: 11 Charge: 1/3

And trip Marcus did. Though not on his face, the moon did manage a recovery, tumbling into a roll. Years of free running paid off in the end. That and too many nights just running and practicing dodging. Smirking at the simple yet effective maneuver, Marcus did his own. A low body thrust attack he didn’t notice the slash until he felt a slight draft. It made him hesitate, pulling back to feel what was exposed. Just a hint of his abdomen and the myriad of scars on his skin. Brushing it off, Marcus just ignored it, wanting to focus on their spar. HP: 49 whoops DMG: 12

Jason was impressed with the level of dexterity Marcus displayed, able to roll out of the trip and be back on his feet within seconds. It was amazing!
'Zanth if you don't shut up I will-' "HURK!"
Sadly the hunter trainee had been so distracted by his weapon, that he had not realized Marcus was intending on tackling him. Taking the charge full on he was thrown to the ground, dazed from the impact.
Zanth kept chanting in his head, and the stunned moon trainee mumbled something about "No homo"

No..he laughed, shaking his head. “Let me guess, Zanth sending a few signals?” Dis was busy sending his own, suggesting what to Marcus sounded like a fast way to ice crotch or worse. No thanks. “You good though?” Waiting for Jason to right himself, Marcus was still smiling. “No shame- try to roll with the blow and use the force to your own advantage.” His weapon flashed the deep blue before tinting with violet. Dis was very much wanting to use his powers- a thing Marcus wasn’t going to allow given the dampening field. Instead he aimed high, looking to hit a shoulder. HP: 49 DMG: 10

"Y-yes...yes he is." Jason groaned with a weary sigh, sitting up and rubbing his head. "Always sending mixed messages." By now he was tuning out Zanths detailed explanation of what position he should be in, standing up and dusting himself off. "Yeah I am, t-thanks." He would have to remember that peace of advice, as well as not get distracted by his own weapon's ramblings. He could see Dis was charged now, but he had yet to get a sufficient charge for Zanth. Not a good thing. As Marcus aimed for his shoulder he held up the blade to parry the strike, the force of Marcus swing still doing considerable damage, but he was able to move the blow away from the main part of his shoulder and make a cut at the others side. HP: 22 Damage: 7 Charge: 2/3
