It looked like Flashover and the other rebels were doing fine! They probably wouldn't even miss him, Pierce assured himself. Besides, wouldn't Flashover be pleased when he brought back their worst enemy, Doctor Wily himself? The rebel's tail wagged as he imagined the praise lavished on him upon his return. As he jogged up to the empty tower, Pierce grinned. With all the robot masters otherwise occupied, this would be as easy as err......well anyway it would be easy! The rebel couldn't help a happy bounce as he walked straight up to the doors and gave them a yank.

Splash rushed around the tower barking out orders to the Tower bots as she passed. Every single security system had been checked, double checked, and triple checked. At every entrance, Splash had stationed a sentry. All of this done, she herself, trident in hand, took up the main post at the main entrance. None would pass without confronting her.

Pierce almost laughed as the door opened easily. They hadn't even locked the doors?! Ho ho...stupid robots! The rebel strolled inside and stopped. In the middle of the atrium stood some sort of robot...fish...woman. Wow...Wily had some weird taste in art. Scoffing at the figure, Pierce began to stroll past on his quest to find the elevators. The sooner he got out with Wily and back to Flashover, the better.

"HALT" bellowed Splash, leveling her trident at the intruder's chest. "If you are one of Flashover's underlings, I suggest you leave quickly" she warned in an ominous tone. For all her job as a security bot, Splash had no real desire to hurt or kill anyone, save the rebel leader Flashover himself. She was willing to give this intruder a chance to leave in peace, but only ONE chance to leave.

Damn his luck! He should've known it wouldn't be quite that easy. Pierce backed up a bit. That trident looked pretty pointy and he'd gotten enough piercings this week already. "Hey lady. Are you the only one here?" He glanced around. Hopefully there wasn't a robot master hiding on every floor.

"I am enough for the likes of you, or any other rebel dumb enough to try and assault the tower," Splash informed the intruder coldly. She switched on her trident, the low buzzing of high voltage echoed off the floor and walls of the atrium. "Again rebel, I suggest you leave. NOW!" she commanded, taking a threatening step toward the intruder.

"Heh. Good. Once I get past you, it'll be a straight shot up to Wily then." Pierce's grin wavered as he eyed the suddenly buzzing trident. He figured he'd just have to avoid getting stuck with the pointy bits, the whole thing being electrified changed the game slightly. Good thing he'd brought a few things along from Flashover's arsenal. "You're not getting rid of me that easily, robo-b***h!" He reached into the small bag at his side and yanked a pin. Quickly backing away, he rolled a smoke grenade across the floor and laughed as he slowly began to disappear into the fog. He bet he looked almost as awesome as Flashover right now!

Splash was caught slightly off guard by the sudden smoke and jumped back. She quickly assessed that her hearing would serve her more than sight in the present situation and followed the laughter. "Stealth is useless unless you know how to use it, cretin." She scolded, moving quickly in the general direction the rebel. Suddenly, she thrust her trident into the floor, electrifying a good four foot radius around her, and breaking several of the floor tiles.

"HA HA OW F***!!!" the rebel snarled. Pierce hadn't expected the jolt and was paying for his ignorance. Alright maybe being quiet would serve him better in the smoky room. He bit back a growl. He could make a run for the elevator now but when he returned with captive in tow, there was no way he'd be able to make it past the robot master one-handed. No he'd have to take her out now while he had the advantage. Trouble was, there hadn't been a whole lot in the way of weapons left in the armory. He'd brought along some explosives, of course, but setting them off right next to him was probably not the best idea. Maybe if he could get that trident from her... Pulling some scavenged ball bearings from his bag, he scattered them over the floor. Careful to drag his feet to avoid slipping on the balls, he searched for his opponent's sillouette in the smoke.

Bingo, from the sudden cut to cursing from laughter, Splash was sure she'd given the rebel a zap. Unfortunately, she knew that it would take a direct hit from her trident to electrocute a fleshed audio until death. Hearing something metallic tap and roll along the tile, Splash yanked her trident out of the floor and moved back a step. She waited for either more smoke, or perhaps an explosive, but neither occurred. Still relying mainly on her ears, she listened for steps across the tile, perhaps going toward the elevator. The elevator! Cursing herself for not thinking, she moved towards it, slipping on one of the ball bearings. To stop herself falling, she once again drove her trident into the tile, again electrifying the ground, and narrowly saving herself from a very undignified face plant.

Pierce saw the disturbance in the fog as Splash caught herself and nearly chuckled aloud. She may not have fallen, but at least she'd given away her position. Approaching stealthily, he lunged forward, grabbing for the trident. At least he hoped that was the trident.

Splash drug her feet along the ground to regain her balance without taking another tumble on the ball bearings just as the rebel made a grab for her trident. A grave error. Her most prized and prided possession, and she would NEVER see it in the hands of a rebel. "KNAVE!" She thundered, sweeping a leg across the rebels knees while yanking her trident upwards, swinging it around to point directly at the intruder. The kid gloves had officially been removed. Splash was angry.

He'd nearly had it! Pierce's paws closed on empty air as the trident was jerked away. A moment later he was on his back, his legs having been swept out from under him. Growling, the rebel attempted to scoot away before Splash could take advantage of his vulnerable position. The smoke had started to clear as the grenade ran dry, the space too big to contain it in one area for long.

"Not this time sycophant." Splash snarled, attempting to step on the fleeing rebel's tail. She brought down her trident, aiming to pin the rebel to the floor, hoping to insure his death. Her tail whipped back and forth violently sending multiple ball bearings flying in either direction.

As his tail was caught beneath Splash's heel, Pierce unsuccessfully attempted to scurry away on all fours. He glanced over his shoulder in time to see the trident coming down. s**t! With a squeak of...rage (definitely not fear!) he rolled aside as the fork came down in the space where he'd just been. He didn't get far, merely rolling to Spalsh's other side. The rebel yanked desperately at his tail, trying to free it. "Let...go!!!!"
