NostalgiaForInfinity

From Wikipedia and other sources, Hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic:
"...the German Kaiser and Parliament decided without opposition to fund the war entirely by borrowing, a decision criticized by financial experts like Hjalmar Schacht even before hyperinflation broke out. The result was that the exchange rate of the Mark against the US dollar fell steadily throughout the war from 4.2 to 8.91 Marks per dollar."
"the inflation changed to hyperinflation and the Mark fell to 800 Marks per Dollar by December 1922. The cost-of-living index was 41 in June 1922 and 685 in December, a 15-fold increase."
"Prices rose not just by the day, but by the hour — or even the minute. If you had your morning coffee in a café, and you preferred drinking two cups rather than one, it was cheaper to order both cups at the same time."
"At eleven o’clock in the morning a siren sounded and everybody gathered in the factory forecourt where a five-ton lorry [truck] was drawn up loaded brimful with paper money. The chief cashier and his assistants climbed up on top. They read out names and just threw out bundles of notes. As soon as you had caught one you made a dash for the nearest shop and bought just anything that was going."
That's about where we stand now.

If you squint at the 12-month graph, you can see a saddle shape where we almost made a difference.

Does it look familiar yet?
Elysium's Gate removed, what, 50 or 60 trillion? And Beach Party is up to 40t. And at this rate, the amount of gold that will flow through the MP on Monday alone, two days from now, will TOTAL that amount.
The real trouble is that I'm telling you about it. If you're reading this, P:G, you're statistically likely to have melted down more gold than my measly 1b.
What we need now is a visibility campaign, and signatures are what seem to work. A sig brought me in. I posted P:G in my sig and got questions about it in PMs, forum replies, and requests to add partner project logos in my sig.
The trouble is, I'm a poor socialite. I'm old and curmudgeonly and I only care about doing improbable things in video games [which is hard to do when no one else plays the games, and zOMG isn't going to get very popular on a pay-to-win basis!].
We can still make a difference after we've emptied our own silos of devalued gold. Spread the word!
