As fast as his cheetah heritage would allow, the hybrid ran through the dark, his eyes frantically looking for the other familiar hyena. In his haste, he hadn't even thought through the entire situation. Just why would he want to help her? She was the one that bullied him, hurt him, enslaved him. The last two words left a bitter taste in his mouth even though they hadn't left his mouth. Still, she had just saved his life... His ears went back as his mind and heart were conflicted. One saying save her, the other telling him to run and let her die like she deserved.

The male hyena clung desperately to the curved trunk of the tree he had manage to scramble up. The nest was not far off, but his progress was not impeded by a very angry mother bird. The bird screeched at him, and he couldn't make out anything it was saying, but it's beak continuously came crashing down upon his skull. Each one was met with a yelp and an attempt to explain, but a peck on the nose caused him to tumble from the tree. He hit the ground hard, the air rushing form his lungs so quickly he couldn't even cry out in pain. Bjorg lay motionless beneath the tree, the threatening mother bird staring angrily down at him.

His stalling stopped his paws slowly began to carry him again as his mind wandered to thoughts of should or should nots. Minutes that felt like hours passed as he walked before he finally raised his head, the sound of a single bird snapping him out of his daze. Was...was that him? With the bird squawking angrily at him from its tree? It had to be him. No hyena in their right mind would go against a bird, let alone a nesting one, if there was a meal elsewhere to be had. Especially since hyenas weren't exactly known for their climbing abilities.

The cheeton approached him with caution, look down at the hyena as he stood over him. He knew Bjorg to be much more docile than Heidrun, but he was still a hyena and he knew they couldn't be trusted.

"Oh thank the gods I found you. Come on."

Slowly the air returned to his lungs and Bjorg was free to wince and whimper in his pain. Such a grumpy bird! He had only wanted to count the eggs in the nest, after all he had been told to do so by Heidrun. He wasn't sure why she needed to know, but surely there was some reason.

His thoughts fell away as a familiar sight appeared in his vision. It was the little not-lion Heidrun had come across. Bjorg was not nearly so fearful of this feline, after all it was quite puny in comparison, and there was something different about him. That intimidating lion air was not there, nor the size. Oddly thoguh the nameless feline seemed glad to have found him. "What is it?" Bjorg asked, rolling over and wincing as he got to his feet. This was definitely going to hurt on the morrow, especially with how sore his back already felt.

"I said come on." The cheeton repeated with a little more force behind his words. While he could have run, there was always the chance of Heidrun meeting him again or even hunting him down if she survived her wounds. It was something he didn't want to risk. Live for today and die tomorrow or survive to live another day was what it had gotten down to.

He seemed anxious, pacing as he watched the hyena roll back onto his feet. He was watching the grass around them, occasionally pawing at the missing section of his mane. It itched of course. Maybe it was just the small wounds of having it ripped from him closing and scabbing over or maybe she had given him fleas. Either way, it itched.

Bjorg blinked at the not-lion's forceful tone, but nodded. "Alright then, lead." He replied. It must have been something urgent, after all the odd feline had not acted such a way before. They had always appeared quite timid around Heidrun and he. His skin twitched uneasily. He had a bad feeling and was eager to figure out why. Bjorg hoped it was nothing though.

He hadn't expected Bjorg to just agree and follow him so easily, after all Heidrun would have been much more difficult to convince to follow him if it had been Bjorg in her current situation. Still, he was docile, submissive and that was good for him right now. Still, he figured he owed Bjorg an explanation, even a small one as he began to make his way back to the injured hyena as a jog. "There was a lion. It happened fast. It tried to kill me, but Heidrun protected me.." He really wasn't sure why she had stepped in and defended him with such a fierce passion, but it didn't sit well with him. He was a prisoner, a slave even. Why protect him? Wasn't he near worthless?

He turned as jogged, moving backwards for a moment so he could look Bjorg in the eye. "She's injured. She needs help. I don't know how to help her and I suppose I hoped you did. You seem to know so much but she hardly asks for it."

Bjorg followed quickly along, keeping step with the feline companion. His curiosity for what was wrong was soon sated, but it was definitely not the explanation he had hoped for. The male nearly stopped in his tracks. A lion attack? Heidrun had been injured? His breath caught in his chest. Seconds seemed to drag on onto minutes. His chest started to hurt, and finally he forced himself to exhale. Somehow he had managed to keep moving though, and his pace only quickened.

"We need to hurry." He spoke, his voice calm with an undertone of urgency. His normally cheery demeanor had melted away. Heidrun was hurt and he had to help her. How though? Bjorg's mind raced as they went, trying to figure out exactly what they could even do. He had never really learned about herbs and their uses, nor did he know anyone who did. They could carry Heidrun back to Risheera, but would the lioness be able to help? Would she? An injury would slow them down and the lioness might just leave them behind. What then?

Bjorg glanced over at the nameless feline. "How far was she?" he asked, worried they may not make it in time. So many dangers lurked in the dark for an injured animal.

"She's not far." He responded as quickly as Bjorg had asked. It was odd to see him so...unlike himself. There was a good reason for him to be acting this way, but it was still unusual for both of them to be acting this way. Really, it would have been their chance to strike out on their own, free of Heidrun's influence, but there were still good reasons to keep her around. For one, he would have been dead without her.

"She was still breathing when I left her." He had to leave her. There was no way to look for help without just hoping she'd be breathing when they got back. The cheetah's pace sped up to a light run instead of his previous jog. His cheetah blood beckoned him to go faster, but any faster and he would have risked losing Bjorg in the night.

Silence followed the feline's reply and Bjorg simply followed after him. His fur bristled and his skin burned as the blood rushed through his body. They had to reach her in time. She had to be okay. Sure, she yelled a lot and she could be grumpy at time. Or really a lot of the time. Maybe most of the time. It didn't matter to him though. He cared for her anyways, because despite those things he knew she had a good heart, and she still treated him better than any other females had up to this point. Bjorg didn't know what he'd do if he lost her.

The metal smell hit him quickly, along with a heavy familiar scent. "Heidrun!" He yelled as he rushed forward, completely oblivious to the thought that perhaps there was still danger lurking nearby. The smell of blood hung heavily on the spot, and not just Heidrun's. He couldn't help but smile faintly. Of course she had given the lion a fight, she was strong after all. The male hurried to her side, nudging her cheek lightly. "Don't worry," He spoke softly, not even sure if she was conscious to hear. "We will find someone to help you." Not that he even knew if they could. So many worried filled his mind, and Bjorg did his best to push them back. There was no time for worries now, they would only slow him down. Right now time was of the essence, and he wasn't about to waste any.

"Help me." He pleaded to the feline. He had starting to nose his head beneath her, trying to be as careful as possible. He didn't know any other way to carry her, and didn't want to risk any more damage by dragging her. Finally she had been settled upon his back and Bjorg started to move, each step carefully taken. "We need to hurry." He spoke, looking over at the not-lion. "Please watch her, make sure she doesn't fall." He turned his attention back ahead, his stride slow but steady. They would find Risheera and hope she could help. That she would help.

The cheeton had stayed quiet, only leading the way before stepping aside as Bjorg tended to the wounded hyena. He watched in total silence as there was a show of affection he had had yet to see displayed between the two in front of him. Part of him almost felt bad for her. When Bjorg asked for help, he did not nod but instead simply did as was asked. putting the flat top of his head against her, he helped move the larger body onto the kind male's back.

He...was going to carry her? Where? Where would they even go? It seemed Bjorg had an idea of where to go though. The hybrid nodded, following behind him, watching carefully for any signs of Heidrun slipping from his back.
