((Note for Niss: Guilian is maxed!)) It was amazing, just how much confidence one could gain back from a positive social interaction. Guilian smoothed back his long mane with a wing, a silly smile on his face as he reflected how pleasant his morning had been. It had been a light and breezy encounter, nothing more than conversation and banter, but it had been lively, humorous, and fun. At no time had he felt old, beaten down, or followed by the dark cloud that had been following him for the past few years; it was like a brilliant sunburst had come to wipe away any trace of darkness. He wasn't so naive that he believed the clouds to be gone forever, but armed with a new awareness and a renewed self of self-confidence, he knew he could avoid slipping back into that depression. He could do nothing to change the past, and he wasn’t about to waste any more time dwelling on it. Instead, he was going to look forward the future. After all, wasn’t it true that one never stopped living until they were dead? And he felt no desire to die, not any time soon. Guilian laughed at that, twirling a strand of the mane around one of his leading feathers. It was amazing, really, just what a positive attitude could do for one’s appearance, never mind one’s spirits. Only a few months ago, he had stared into his favorite pool and into the reflected eyes of an old stallion; tired and worn, limp and haggard. Now, his old spark was back; eyes that had been dull and dead sparkled with black fire, the mane that had hung bedraggled and limp was freshly washed, tossed, and accented with a single large black rose. There might still be silver in that mane, but the face beneath was as merry and youthful as it ever had been, aided by the best cosmetic of all: joy. “Ah, it is great to be alive; to be alive, and to truly feel alive!” Laughing, Guilian spread his wings and spun around, his mane, tail, and wings spiraling around him like the petals on a flower. It was a gorgeous summer day, and he knew that his red coat was striking against the bright green of the meadow. He would stand out like a beacon, but right now, he honestly didn’t care. “And it is truly alive that I am, yes!”

There was no doubt there was nothing better than greeting the warm face of the sun first thing in the morning and then taking off with the dire need of a new adventure deep with her soul. She never wondered what it would be like when she would grew older, Chii had little doubt that she would even make it to the point of being too old to ever move again. Likelihood of her being horrible killed some sort of hair rising, death defying adventure would be the end of her and at her rate probably some time soon than later. Not that she would ever care that was the point of life wasn’t it? To live it to the fullest, to do whatever she could to enjoy it there was no point in worrying or thinking of the what if’s and lingering on the can’t do’s in the world. If all she did was worry about what was safe for her now she would never be happy with her life and Chii never wanted to be unhappy in life. Even now she was looking for something to call an adventure, something to catch her attention, such as the bright red dancing figure in the middle of a green meadow. There was someone having fun! If they were having fun maybe she could join in or at least have some of that joyous fun rub off on her to carry about for the rest of the day. Beating her wings she landed a few feet away, her jewelry jingling as her hooves hit the ground and her long blonde hair pooling across her back. If it wasn’t for the bright markings of her wings and tattoos she would have easily blended into the meadow, but what was life and adventure without a few accessories from her travels, they always made for great stories to tell others when they asked. He was shouting at the sky about being alive that made her smile largely across her muzzle, of course alive! Here was a stallion she already liked. Grinning she whistled to the stallion and replied “’Ello there! Mind if I join in the dancing? It looked fun from the sky and if you don’t ‘mind dancing is always fun if there are more about.” She continued to give him a grin as she ran around in a circle once her tail bouncing along the top of the grass as her own wings spread out.

((Note for Niss: Guilian is maxed!)) This was why it was better to be joyous than depressed, why happiness tended to multiply and create more happiness. When others saw joy, it tended to draw them in, to make them want to share the experience, the sentiment. On the other hand, depressed individuals tended to be given a wide berth, with other Soquili not wanting to seem morbid, or to intrude, or like they were fishing for tragedy. Consequently, depression tended to become a vicious cycle, with isolation making a bad situation worse. How many months had Guilian spent wallowing in self pity, not noticing or caring if anyone else was around? But now, now he was alive to the world and its possibilities, feeling glorious and glad to share that sensation with another. As he finished he spiral, mane and tail settling back down to rest once more on his back, he observed with a wide grin that he was no longer alone, having been joined by a mare whose brilliant colors made her every bit as much a part of the meadow as a daffodil itself. Saluting her with a flip of his wing, he met her grin with one of his own. "But of course, Chica; today is the sort of day where one should cherish life, and live it up accordingly. I would love it if you would join me in a celebration of life and happiness in this lovely meadow." With that, he laughed and resumed his twirling, spreading his wings wide and casting one of his dark roses upwards into the breeze.

There was little doubt that the stallions joy was rather infections Chii thought as continued to twirl around with him. The clouds all started to blur together with lines of blue streaking around. A laugh escaped from her lips, as she started to slow down to a slow dizzy like walk. Despite her wobbling feet she was s till laughing with her mane curling down her neck as her tail tried to curl around something to keep her from tumbling over. Now if everyone could be like this, easy going and happily doing what he or she enjoyed without any other care in the world. Following there dreams their hopes anything they wanted as long as it brought them some sort of happiness. Well almost everyone there were some that only dream was harm but there were few and far between. As the dizziness finally started to drift from her head and giggles finally subsided into an aching pain in her lungs Chii looked at the stallion giving him a grin. “Thank you! Tho I’ll admit I would have joined you either way regardless if you had said no or yes. Everyday should be celebrating life and happiness to the fullest otherwise what would really be the point?” Chii replied as she watched him for a moment, the streaks of black were blending in with the marks of red as his body moved, even the roses bounced with joy as the breezed carried them. Stretching out her wings again and Chii looked up towards the sky she started to swing around in a circle again this time a little more slowly and larger doing her best to end her dancing too soon with dizziness.

((Note for Niss: Guilian is maxed!)) It was lovely to have a companion to share the beauty of the day with, Guilian reflected as he completed another round of twirling. And it was even lovelier for that companion to be so...well, so lovely! Chuckling, he slowed to a stop and smoothed his mane, standing and watching the mare as she continued to spiral in place. He was biased, he knew; he was always partial towards female company! But there was just something joyous and wondrous about the female of the species; no matter what the temperament of a mare, she always seemed to Guilian to be a creature of light, and of happiness. Perhaps it was due to their natural slimness; stallions were such large, awkward things at their sides! Really, Guilian thought as he watched the mare spinning with complete abandon, could he have asked for a better companion on this day? He was feeling so buoyant, so alive, so carefree; it was only right that the mare who'd graced him with her presence was feeling the same. As she made her little 'confession', Guilian allowed his grin to widen; such honesty, and such excellent logic! "Well said, Chica, well said; and I wish for you to dance until you cannot dance any more." Pausing, he reflected on how that sounded before amending, "Or until you do not wish to dance any more. For my part, I must confess it is time for a break; there is only so much twirling I can manage without throwing myself off-kilter!"

It didn’t take Chii very long in her chance of circles before the sensation of floating entered her head and started to send the feeling of queasiness to her stomach. Slowing down she started to laugh as her hooves seemed confused on which one was suppose to go first as the rest of her body felt too heavy to one side as she tried flapping her wings from tipping over and rolling into the grass like a frolicking filly. “Apparently I still have lots to learn when it comes to dancing and not tripping over my hooves!” The green mare laughed as she finally managed to get her body still enough to give him a proper smile with a wink before shaking the mangled mess of her mane away from her face. “Well this has certainly made today fun I couldn’t ask for anything better,” the mare replied as she peered up at the sky again her eyes watching as the clouds drifted lazily in the sky with little care to the world that lingered below. Nothing could mar the day, not even if the sky decided to coat itself in dark clouds and poured rain from the sky and lightening flashed all around. “The name is Chalchiuitl Xochitl by the way, but everyone just calls me Chii, a little easier on the tongue if you ask me.” There were a few times that even she herself couldn’t even say her own name without being tongued, tho usually it was after a few gulps of fermented apples or in the company of a pretty charming mare. “I am glad to meet a fellow dancer and life lover on such a great day.”

And speaking of off-kilter, there she went! Guilian was no expert on physical imbalances, but he'd had enough experience in being dizzy to know the signs. As the mare flapped her wings and tilted, he stepped forward, offering her a solid foundation to lean on, if she needed it. He was always willing to be a support, especially for a pretty mare! "Careful, Chica; you do not want to have all that joy of yours bubble out of you, sending you spiralling to the ground instead of above it," he said with a laugh. "Perhaps you should take a few minutes to simply stand steady, yes? I would hate for you to end up smashing your nose against the ground; I have done such before, and it is not pleasant," he finished. At her introduction, he could not help the brow that shot upwards, disapearing under his mane. "My goodness, Chica, that is a name of extraordinary proportions. I think that for the sake of not butchering said name, I will take you up on your most gracious offer of a nickname. For my part, I am not given to nicknames of my own, but my name is much smaller to begin with." Saluting with a flourishing wing gesture, he bowed and said, "My name is Guilian, and it is a pleasure, Chii. Please do tell me if you are averse to being referred to as "Chica'; it is a bit of a verbal habit of mine, but I know not all mares appreciate such habits." And he did hate to be intentionally rude! "And indeed, I am glad to have made your acquaintance as well. It bodes well for the rest of the day to have gotten off to such a good start, yes? Perhaps, if you are not otherwise engaged, we could continue to enjoy each other's company for a time," he added.
