Life here was wonderful. Sure, sometimes she missed the ocean, but when the insanity had lifted from the pride...Dege was still following after her muse. It had always been birds, and she had found a bird that wanted to lead her away from her beach home. Sometimes she missed her family, and at times like that she let herself wander just a bit far from her post as a guard. Once in a while rogues would pass by, and keep a berth away from the Aka'mleli; getting too close could cause trouble, and she was there to warn them of their impending trespass.
"Oh Ayo....sometimes I do miss the ocean," she whined to the bird flying above her. "Can you see it from there??"
The bird laughed. "No, of course not. I can see the lake, but you know how far the ocean is from here; clouds obscure it all."
Dege sighed, dramatically flopping on a huge stone. The mountains were riddled with them, as she had been told that the earthquake many years ago had changed the landscape. Guards were important, as it was easier to get into the valley than ever before. Still...sometimes her shift was awfully boring.
tani duh!
