Proposal:
Hello everyone. So... If you can't tell, most of the guild is pretty much inactive/dead. Our staff has been pretty busy and we've really only had time for Mitsuko's Dorm. So... we have decided that maybe it was time to change the guild into something a bit more manageable. We will retain the Other Roleplays Forums since they are still being used fairly decently. The concept that we would like to present was something we came up with in 2010, but it never fully bloomed. Enter, the Roleplaying Society.
Reasoning:
A school is a pretty big system to manage. We have to deal with student profiles, teacher profiles, sports, clubs, classes, dorms, housing, activities and the list goes on. The Roleplay Society will still retain a similar concept in that there are profiles and your character is free to roam to different parts of the "RP". Forums would include suburb, apartments, town locations, distant (all other locations). It would narrow down our forum use a lot and would be easier for us crew member to manage. In addition, it would be more open. We won't have application procedure for opening stores or for housing (unless you guys want us to). In the end, its easier for you the RPer, and easier for us, the crew.
What is the RP Society?
The RP Society will be based around a town. The name is to be determined and we'd probably outsource something from the guild members. Essentially, it will allow you to interconnect your different RPs together in the town. We will have the guild closely integrated with our Mitsuko's Dorm RP Concept, so expect us crew members to get pretty active. We will have guild-wide events. Remember the Neko University Tornado RP? We plan to do similar events.
RP Series
The beauty of an open world is that almost anything can happen. We are going to be having RP Series. Do you want to RP but don't have any ideas? Have no fear, RP Series are here. The Nightmare of Dreams was an RP that I never got a chance to start. I would like to implement this idea in the RPS. You will be able to create a character for this RP Series, but still have that character a part of the RPS (Roleplaying Society). Win win situation.
Guild Management and Incentives
Some of our staff are excited about being able to interact with all you guys. We want to have a lot more ways we can interact with you guys. Some of the things we can do is have posting contests and random prize drawings. Previously (and technically it still is) the guild was managed by a bot called the Kubuntu Cardinal Engine (name inspired by SAO admittedly). It monitored most of the forums in the guild and gave us some stats on activity. We plan to rebuild this engine and help us bring up the most active players. We can also implement really cool features. The Nightmare of Dreams will include a unique fighting system that will use the revamped Kubuntu Cardinal Engine. Your characters will have an energy/mana/chakra/limiter value that will restrict or allow you to use certain abilities. It makes the fights more interesting and the bot will keep track of these values. We plan to make this guild as interesting, feature filled, enjoyable, while keeping it open for you to do as you like.
