Personality: Harper projects a happy-go-lucky, optimistic facade to the world around her, but inside this girl is riddled with a nagging sense of self-doubt that almost cripples her. She does her very best to be exactly what others might expect her to be, and quite often she succeeds. But when she's alone and it's dark and there's nobody around to keep her in check, Harper berates herself. She can convince herself that nobody likes her in the blink of an eye, and a lot of times it's absolute nonsense. She really is a likable person. She's dedicated, and she's thankful for the Military for taking her in (that's how she looks at it). She's got an easy laugh and a ready smile, and she really would be willing to do anything for people she cares about. These feelings are genuine, and she doesn't do it to bribe people to like her or enjoy her company - despite the fact that Harper struggles with the constant, pressing need to fit in.
Harper tries, though. She tries to be the kind of person she wants to be. Comfortable around herself, content in her own skin. A life of living under her oppressive father (who was pretty verbally and physically abusive) has cowed Harper terribly. It's made her doubt herself in cataclysmic ways, and a lot of the reason she is the way she is can be blamed on the man who raised her - but she tries.
Admittedly, she can come off as a little needy, but she doesn't mean to. She also has a jealous streak a mile wide, and if she fears that any relationships she has are in jeopardy, Harper will struggle to put herself in "first place" once more - and then she'll hate herself for feeling the way she feels.
Despite her rocky background, Harper is quick to trust - doesn't matter who. Making friends is very important to her, and it's almost about the quantity rather than the quality of friends with this girl.
Harper likes to write. She loves to pen stories and poems. She does keep a rather dedicated journal that she'll keep with her even in the Military.

Harper's father was a drunk (who sometimes managed to halfway run a small mercantile), and her mother died when she was merely a year old. Some people say that domestic abuse in the household escalated, and others say that it was a tragic freak accident. Harper still doesn't know how her mother died, and she likely never will. Her father was not a kind man, and he was not a gentle man. His death freed Harper, and for a while she attempted to live on her own - and she failed miserably. Needing some sort of control and guidance in her life, Harper decided to willingly enlist in the Military.
