Through Your Eyes is not social in the strictest sense of the word, or even in a loose sense of the word, but even she, occasionally, is inclined to play games. Her games, like all other aspects of her life, are about hunting and being clever. She had sent out the call for kin willing to play a game with no details as to what the game was about. Looking out at the gathered group of kin, she smiles with a flash of teeth and begins:

"The Swamp is populated by predators and prey. Some of us have the leisure to choose which we are and others are not. Today I gather you here to play a little game about being predator and prey. Some of you will be hunters, the wolves and caiman of the Swamp, while some of your will be prey, the foxbuns, mongooses, and roxes that invariably become a meal. The predators will, of course, be hunting their prey."

She smirks, mirthful eyes taking in some of the gathered kin's wary looks at her proclamation.

"Don't worry about your life or your bones, this is just a game after all. I wouldn't want you all to actually kill each other," she continues, though her expression does little to actually quell any suspicions one might have about her proclivity for a more realistic game. "You will all be alive at the end of this game, so stop thinking about leaving now while you have the chance."

"It'll be simple and and fun,"
she says with certainty, her smile stretching darkly across her face. "So let's begin."

Mechanics for Hunting Game Wrote
This is a game to be played in-character by one of your kin. They have been brought by word-of-mouth or by direct invitation by Through Your Eyes to play this hunting game.

By luck of the draw, your kin will be assigned to be either predator or prey. Additionally, any special roles will be assigned along with the primary alliance. You will be informed of your kin's role through PM.

Each round of game-play consists of one 24 hour day round and one 24 hour night round. During the day, all players have the chance to publicly vote to "kill" one player. During the night, the predators have the chance to vote to "kill" an additional player.

During the day, players may discuss their choice of victim until the kin are ready to cast their votes. When a vote is cast, the kin must announce their vote to the group which is indicated by bolding the name of the victim. The player that receives the most votes is "killed" and is from that point on, unable to participate in the game-play though you may choose to continue to rp your kin as an observer so long as you do not give any important information away and they do not interact with any of the other players.

During the night, the players who have been designated predators will cast their vote regarding who to kill without discussion by PM-ing Amorpheous with the name of the player they wish to kill. The player that receives the highest number of votes is "killed" and, like the player killed in the day round, is no longer able to participate in game-play.

Each day and night will begin with narration from Through Your Eyes. This game will continue until the number of prey matches the number of predators or all the predators are dead.

For the sake of fair game-play, do not reveal your alliance to anyone, even if your character dies. Additionally, do not discuss game-play in the main thread or through pm, or out-of-character in the game thread.

This game is capped at 25 players. As such, each user is only allowed to play one kin.

"Generally, predator and prey run in different circles by choice and necessity. The prey hide in their burrows and cower in thickets while predators stride across the Swamp and own it. If predator and prey were to intermingle, all the prey would end up dead."

Through Your Eyes was solemn as she spoke, entering the role of narrator and, perhaps in a way, goddess of this small world they were creating with ease. Her eyes shown in the darkness of shadowed alcove she had chosen as her perch. "Through some cruel twist of fate, this group of predators and prey standing here have been trapped together with the predators wearing their disguises."

"One might think that the prey are doomed, but in fact, they have numbers on their side. Even the weakest animals, if they band together, can take down a larger, stronger creature.

And so it begins: a game of survival. The numerous prey against the limited predators. During the day, the prey will rule; there eyes are well-suited for the light and they can defend themselves. However, during the night, the predators will roam and take down a suitable victim."

She nods, smiling. The game is to begin now.

"It is day now. All these creatures are just getting to know each other and must decide if they will collectively take down one amongst them in the hopes that their chances of survival will increase."

Freedom to Act was a little less creepy without her brother - her loud laughter and almost cruel gaze wasn't backed by his almost mechanical movement and empty-voiced words. Still, he was really here in spirit, for Life was Life. "You," she indicated, nodding toward Precipice. "You could be a wolf! You're brown, look hunty..."

Yeah, okay. It was the first fake day of this little game, and Life knew that above all, whatever happened, happened. She'd picked Edge to vote for because someone had to do something, and she thought it was stupid to wait around worrying about the consequences of your actions and choices when they'd really all lead to the same end.

(It was pretty obvious to those gathered that Life was an awful actor.)

"This is a game, don't be stupid." He could probably have been more polite about his answer, but --

"Just because we look like wolves doesn't mean we are." It was said with a smile, sharp and dangerous. He wasn't making a good case for his own status as potential prey.

Tracks side eyed the female and muttered 'Rude' under his breath before surveying the kin he was with. Still, in the sake of moving this along, he should choose one. Being an rather private individual he did not know the others, but then, that wasn't the point of this game.

He sighed, looking over to Butcherbird another brown kin and back to Freedom. "If we are going on that assumption, then he is just as likely to be one," he replied dryly to Precipice. Surely they couldn't go about accusing people solely from hide coloration yet with nothing else to go on. He might as well join in.

I'll Never Tell smiled to herself as the boys immediately set to throwing accusations about. True, this early in the game it would be impossible to know who was predator and who was prey, but if you were going by appearances... "Lightning Strike." She stated matter-of-factly, casting an amused glance at the kimeti in question. None could look more wolfish than the one who wore the very pelt of said beast. Her scaled tail swung slowly behind her, the large appendage almost out of place on such a dainty kin.

Would this quiet songbird turn out to be an eagle in disguise?

Fangs flashed, golden eyes gleamed, and none could doubt why Freedom to Act had chosen her as the first vote. "Indeed, you are not wrong," she replied with a smirk that was all teeth. She took a menacing step forward with lowered head and narrowed eyes, looking even more the part of the hunter she was, "I am certainly a predator to be reckoned with, at least in the real world. Best remember that."

"However," and at this she straightened, faced the crowd. "This is not the real world, where strength may distinguish between predator and prey. In this game, cunning is what will keep a predator alive, and what we are most threatened by. And trust me, my friends, while I am clever enough to realize that much, I am certainly not the cleverest of us all."

At this, she turned and stepped towards another kin, the most distinguishable of them all, the lone Stag in the crowd, and nodded her head respectfully. "Fiend, no one can deny that, chosen by the Motherfather, you have seen much and know more than most if not all here. I would peg you as our greatest threat, so there's my vote."

Colored Spring surveyed the crowd of players for a while, hardly paying attention to the ones already arguing. Finally, his eyes rested on Sweet Gale. "That one looks untrustworthy," he said with a smirk.

Sweet Gale stood there, watching the others. He didn't know the others, even if they might be in the same tribe. Oh but he was joining a game, trying to socialize with others. They were already calling out each others, some over reasons that showed nothing outward of being either prey or predator.

This would be a hard one pick, so he looked at a doe. "You...umm, whatever your name is." Blurs and Stains with her strange markings just caused him to shiver. It was time to pick who cause his stomach to feel sick. And that sadly was by looks.

"You wouldn't be wrong to call me a wolf. I am one, and this," it was with a subtle twist of her head that she indicated the pelt on her back, "is my brother. However, this is a game, and in it I am no wolf. It's foolish to vote on looks." The stern glare was, however, lost under the wolf's head that sat atop her own. Canines burnished a pearly white were likely only to further any thought that she was a predator.

"It would be a foul idea to kill me so soon. I can tell you that." She sounded earnest, not threatening, but then who wouldn't be earnest in telling others not to kill them?

Predator and prey? Eating Fireflies had tried to put himself in the mindset of one or the other before, while training himself, but for someone else to name him as either? Well. He wasn't certain how he felt about that. Still, he'd heard about the gathering and he'd wandered in, so he couldn't fault anyone for being here except himself.

"Are we really choosing who's dangerous by how they look?"

"Oh, for god's sake," said Flint, stepping into the light -- his sour face probably didn't do much to assign him any kind of role, as he turned to regard every kin in the clearing. He only halfway recognized one of them. But this wasn't the beach; the kin here probably didn't know better than to just ignore that caustic look. "Okay. Feral Storm, you look wolfish."

The game was announced to have begun! With encouraging catchphrases like 'trust no one but yourself,' and 'get your head in the game,' swimming around in her head like a catchy tune, Rising Sun faced the myriad of Kin in front of her. She stood silently, listening to everyone else's convictions, nerves building up at the realization that some of them may actually know each other. That could be a really big advantage... For them. With hooves being pointed around like daggers, Rising Sun had no clue whom she'd vote against.

Wild Sage rolled his eyes. "Look at you all, throwing accusations around without any real basis," he drawled. "Through Your Eyes did just get done saying that the predators would be disguised, didn't she? Basing your decisions on looks is ridiculous."

Flood of Light flicked his tail back and forth slowly as he stood. Listening. He was only too glad to know, at least, that the stakes were so low. Still, he had his pride to think about. His sense of honour.

Every time Flood of Light opened his mouth as if to communicate something, someone else would speak. In the end, he found himself constantly pausing just a second too long. By the time it was silent, he just didn't know what was worth saying any more.

He took another long pause. And another one.

"Who is trying the hardest... to convince us that others are guilty?" he asked. "Who would benefit the most? I feel that the predator would want to isolate us, divide us, and confuse us," Flood of Light suggested.

He took a step back, looking at all the Kin. Who had argued the most vehemently? He nodded at Wild Sage as if, having contemplated what he'd said for a moment longer, he was ultimately agreeing with what Wild Sage had said.
