Even the best laid plans could, and sometimes would, go wrong or become delayed as the case was here. He had tried, and wanted, to get the tea shop open in time for Valentine's day but that had failed - utterly so. Paperwork and inspections couldn't be poofed away by some chaos powers, as much as he wished they could be, and that took time he hadn't been expecting.
February had passed without the shop opening, as had March, then April. May had been hell, June however was looking bright. As flora and fauna bloomed and came back to life, giving the city a healthy green appearance, and winter receded the shop was finally ready to open. It looked like it had bloomed, finally - now would it wither or blossom?
The shop itself was filled with tables and chairs waiting to be occupied by customers. The tea bar was being filled, last minute, with the components for blending personal teas. Over on the shelves last minute products, charmed to grab energy, were finding their temporary home.
The pre-blended packages of tea ranged from the common, traditional, blends to the custom ones invented by Richard, and his exceptional palate, and their other employees and their palates.
Moving about the back room, glancing at his watch, the General paced about as he charmed tea kettles, strains, and other goods so they could be taken out and stocked onto shelves to hopefully be sold to unsuspecting people. Said kettles, strains, and other goods were gently put back into their boxes and wrappings by the General once they were charmed so no customer would know they'd been tampered with. They were due to open in only two hours time - he was cutting it close, he knew it.
After this all the restocking, as well as money counting, would be done at night; after closing. This however was an exception as he hadn't wanted call everyone in the previous night to do this all. he'd done a lot of this on his own the previous night, with limited help, and thus it continued on now as they played it close to opening time.
Stopping his circuit about the back room the blond stood tapping a booted foot, as he glanced about in an almost dazed manner, a tea set in his gloved hands. "Will this work...can we do this? No point in second guessing now - it's too late." He thought to himself as he dazedly looked about. So much was going on and boxes, once full of things, were now empty and broken down and into a large garbage bins waiting to be taken out to the dumpster they had. Other boxes were still full of products for the next week or two, hopefully it would all last that long. Somehow he felt like he wasn't organized enough, like there were things not done which needed to be, and yet he knew everything was done and ready for this - save for last minute stocking. It just felt like he had forgotten things and that somethings weren't done to perfection, it bothered and unsettled him. He felt his hold on things slipping as doubt took hold of him as he looked around the back room. This was final, no turning back, and he was worrying and it showed. So much had happened in the last month or two and he was worried, so worried, he couldn't fail and the doubt settling in caused a shaking in his hands. Setting the tea set down, charmed to gather energy, he held one hand with the other to hide the show of nerves.
Shaken from his thoughts by a sound from the front he powered down, moved the tea set into it's box so it could be repackaged, and headed out to the shop front where final preparations were being made. As he headed into the front room he rolled up the sleeves to the black shirt he wore,he had gone with long sleeves for himself while everyone else was provided short sleeve black shirts, the edges of the new tattoo work poking out in all it's crisp dark curls of vine and leaves. Tied about his waist was a little apron of black which stood out against the tan color of the khaki pants he had decided on for the uniform for everyone. A glance around was given as he sought the cause of whatever sound he'd heard, he hadn't been sure just what the sound even was that he'd heard.((The currant tea tasting rp will continue on, till it's conclusion, for those involved.))Matisha She should be here to protect auras. She gets to help now. ^__^

Lyssa had sat watching the building for some time, her eyes following the activities of Alexandra through the glass window when he walked into the main seating area and back out again. He was busy at work, maybe a little too busy or maybe not enough? She couldn't decide, but what she could decide was that he looked very spiffy in his attire....or was that too spiffy? There was a lot of spiff going about that was certain but she couldn't determine how much was good or bad. She would just have to ask him later...or now. Yes now.
"NoW?"
"TotalLy NOw."
She jumped down from the wall she had happily perched herself on and skipped towards the shop front. The slight summer wind ran through her incredibly short fur, her whole body was a fine buzz cut where Alexandra had snipped off the maple syrup. Goddess she missed maple syrup but the newspaper had told her not to bother to find any until a cloud shaped like a pretzel came along but she had only seen bagels up till now which was ridiculous because they didn't have the same nutritional value....and oh peanuts she was here.
She squished one side of her face up against the door and began to push, using her forehead would have been cheating you see and she was no cheat, so that by the time she had forced her way into the shop with multiple attempts her eyes were watering and her teeth felt funny but she was finally inside and Alexandra was here and she was going help to him, she was gonna help him real good.
He appeared moments later and she bounded up to him jumping on all fours as she bonched and hopped and skipped and jump till she landed on his feet, her paws capturing his ankle in a bear hug as she greeted him with a big smile.
"I Am HEre NOw BonDED one, HerE to HELP, NO pREzals todAY though Its onLY a tuesDAy.

If anyone knew anything about delays, it the General Buddingtonite. Whenever he wasn't donned in his Negaverse finest, Buddingtonite was the co-owner of the Sugar Shanty, along with his brother. His brother ran the behind the scenes and legal boredom, while Buddy himself ran the store, but it had been a painfully long time since he had done any of that work, he was ashamed to admit. After that incident that totaled his store, his car, and cost him a beloved cousin's life, he had dragged his feet in getting his own working. Then he had that other incident, and that pretty much threatened to kill the entire notion of owning a business again.
And yet, he couldn't tell his friend no. General Buddingtonite had devoted himself into helping Benitoite, doing all that he could, pooling whatever resources and know how, though admittedly behind Daran's back. If he brother knew that he was here instead of assisting in the re-opening of Sugar Shanty, then he'd have a lot more to worry about than open store jitters!
On the outside, he was cool as a cucumber, though some shots of bourbon and the company of Laine and Cherry certainly helped in the matter. On the inside, however, he was nervous, almost shaking, but he refused to let Benitoite see. Right now, he needed him to be the person he'd promised he be... supportive and knowledgeable! And Buddingtonite fancied himself a good actor!
This was the first time he had seen Lyssa, though he had been warned of her... antics. And the moment she opened her adorable little mouth, Buddingtonite found himself immediately enamored with her!
You two will get along quite nicely.
"Alright, now that we have our mascot here, does everyone know what they're suppose to do?" Buddingtonite said, looking towards the rest and stopping himself before he got too carried away. This was Benitoite's operation, and he was support, he reminded himself. He looked back at the smaller general, looking to him for orders. "My apologies, I overstepped my boundaries. What are your orders?"

When he had come out to the front of the shop he had expected some mess, or something, but instead of seeing that he found his legs attacked and attached to by an overly friendly red cat. Oh, how friendly she was! The teen bent gently, ignoring everyone and everything else for a moment, and scooped the cat up into his arms where he held onto her.
"I see, and I'm glad to have you here Lyssa." Oh he was very glad to have her here, she was needed in order to accomplish this plan of his. "What about pretzels?" He questioned her gently as he moved to to set her onto the floor gently. Since the cat had arrived at his feet he hadn't noticed anything else and yet Buddy's words caught his attention and he glanced up at him, from where he was knelt down on the floor.
"It's alright, no worries. This is a group effort, as all large plans are. I've also brought you in to help me - as an equal. So do not worry over what you say and how I may, or may not, take it." Flashing a smile at the red haired man he tilted his head to the side lightly, blond hair falling across his face. He wasn't one to hold his rank and power over others heads, nor anything else such as being the lead on this plan. "i think we all know though and we should almost be ready to open the doors. Now that Lyssa is here we can finish up faster and not worry about being discovered." He would hate to have things discovered before they even started - that would be displeasing.
Standing, slowly, he did approach Buddy slowly and settled his hands into the pockets of his pants. Stopping in front of the other he watched him, carefully. "You are at my side with this, my helping hand, as is Stroud. I need the both of you at my side. You know I do not hold myself above others Buddy." No, he never had and never would either. It was something he had, and still did, do as a civilian with people but here? With people he knew? Even when a civilian, he didn't behave like that. These were people he worked with and was close to, connected to.
Shifting he turned his head and stepped back from the other just as he raised his voice. "Let's get ready everyone. We're almost ready, we just have a little bit more to do. Once we open doors I want to see everything running smoothly.
