So, it seemed like perhaps things wouldn't work out with Mapatano. Ema couldn't help herself, she was such a flirt, and he was so easy to fluster up a bit. His serious attitude and dedication to his pride would probably always conquer anything he wanted for himself. And in the long run...perhaps it was best to keep away from the royal family, even if he was only a cousin to Umoja. Being with Umoja's brother, when they had been separated from the pride lands by the earthquake, had brought its own challenges, including the fact that he and their daughter never returned. Well...it was time to take a fresh look at her life.
Her family was good, though Elea's own situation was a bit tricky. It had been quite a surprise to everyone that Umochozi was Umoja's nephew...and a lot of pride members didn't accept it well. Ema couldn't change that, so she just did her best to be a skillful huntress for the pride instead. Umochozi was just as much of a flirt as his mother, but at least he hadn't had any 'accidents' yet. Ema sighed as she approached the watering hole. She bowed her head down to drink, not paying attention to the others that were around. When she raised her head...she felt like she almost ran into someone!
"O-oh, I'm sorry!"

Faraja was in a good mood, and savoring it. After what Amini was jokingly refering to as his 'mid-life crisis,' a few unsettled weeks of restlessness, he was back to his normal self and very, very happy about it. He'd have been happier if Amini would stop calling it a crisis, but he knew the eagle well enough to know that she was never going to let him live it down. Affectionately insufferable bird aside, all was well, and he'd been keeping himself busy by doing some extra hunting, a hare or other small thing here and there, for Anu-sok.
Helping the new lioness made him happy, as helping others always did. of course, Amini was right on top of that one too, alternating between telling him not to smother her and teasing him for 'liking' her. Which he did not! No more than he liked everyone else, anyway. She just seemed so sad, that was all, and he wanted to help. He would have done the same for anyone else in the pride, lioness or lion or bird.
His 'check on Anu-sok' errand was done for the day, however, leaving him with a gap to fill. A trip to the watering hole was first, and then...hnn. Maybe he'd go and visit with his mother for awhile? Well, he could decide after-
"Oh!" Contemplating the options for his day, he hadn't been paying a great deal of attention, either, but fortunately stopped short of shouldering into the pink and white lioness; lost in thought he may have been, but it was very rare that he was completely oblivious to the presence of others. He took a step back, laughing, and flashed her a goofy grin. "Hi, Ema!"
