General debriefing: With the holiday season fast approaching, the division leaders have a very important tasks for hunters willing to step up to the challenge: brave the holiday season crowds and get some things for them. In addition, hunters are also tasked with escorting a golem fashioned after the division leader they're shopping for. Hunters will then task this golem with trying on clothes to ensure a good fit. Mission Budget: Hunters will be issued a prepaid debit card to use. All unspent funds will be returned to Deus Ex. Any additional clothes a hunter purchases for either their division lead or themselves will come out of their own pocket. * E class difficulty level (anyone may attempt; all hunters regardless of rank will be monitored])
MECHANICS
* MECHANICS: - As you enter to pick up the mission, the Hunter at the lighthouse portal stops you. "Sorry, we're doing luck of the draw here." He points to a six-sided dice. A literal, six sided dungeons and dragons dice that they probably stole from Mark. - RP rolling the dice for luck. There is an actual IC list of what the dices match up to: 1 = Allan, 2 = Aria, 3= Caelius, 4 = H, 5 = Edith, 6 = you choose, lucky you. - After you take the gamble, the Hunter on portal duty will activate a princess golem and a shopping list. The princess golem is because the division leads hate mistakes, so any clothing you get for them better be a perfect fit and match. Once there, your hunter (and golem) will be dropped off at a mall. Roll 5d20 to determine what shops you get (see below). Visit the online site/catalogue of these sites to do your shopping, and try to get stuff which you think best matches who you have to shop for. - Remember to refer to the request list to ensure that you're getting everything you need for that person - If you go with more than one person, each person needs a golem (duplicates are up to you, otherwise you may reroll if you feel the RP would benefit better from different golems). Every golem will come with a separate budget. The only thing you and your group will share are the stores you get. - * Golem Reactions: Occasionally the golem will spout a random phrase, as well as react positively/negatively to what you have selected. See list of predisposed dialogue, which you can use further down. All golems use the same dialogue, they are princess golems after all!
Budget* - Using the stores you rolled for below, you must try to get all the items while staying in budget. Budget will depend on the golem; each golem has a different prepaid card/budget amount. Simply browse the online catalogs provided, or improvise with items you think could be found in those stores. If you don't, any additional items must come out of your own paycheck, ouch. Good luck getting something as close as possible to the contents on the list (if you can't find anything, improvise!). Also the lighthouse sentries aren't letting you back until you actually fulfill the list, out of respect and a healthy dose of fear. - You can buy more than one item from the store. - You can buy your own hunter additional items or purchase additional items for the lead golems out of pocket. Who knows? It might pay off in the long run...

Golem phrases: Roll when entering a store/trying on a new piece of clothing. Improvise when needed, ie "I'm not wearing that" when entering a store can be tweaked to "I'm not wearing anything from here." "Not bad." Effect: Golem approves of your choice. "We're not going in there." Effect: Reroll a store. "I'm not wearing that." Effect: Pick a new item. "My star barrettes are fabulous!" Effect: None. "I want that one instead." Effect: Look at the item you're viewing on the page. Move two items left. Your golem wants that item instead. "Let's go over here!" Effect: Your golem drags you to another store. Reroll if entering, roll again if you just purchased something. "Wait. I forgot something! We're going back." Effect: Return to a previous store. If you get this on the first roll, visit the first store twice. Due to a very fussy golem, if you receive this three times you can ignore it from the fourth roll onward. The golem will be very sulky afterwards and may act like a giant wo/man-child but hey, thems the lil breaks. You also don't need to roll again, provided you haven't bought nothing yet. "Let's take a break. My treat." Effect: "My treat" is a filthy lie. You spend 15 min at a cafe being watched uncomfortably by the golem as it attempts small chatter. Lose -$5 from your paycheck. At least the golem didn't blow its own cover by trying to eat something. If entering a store, you're pulled away before you can go in. If purchasing something, you're dragged to one immediately after. "Aren't you missing something?" Effect: Lose something you've purchased. If you've purchased nothing, you lose the list. "Hey, nice job!" Effect: The golem is pretty happy. "...You're joking." Effect: The golem is sulking. "Does this make my butt look big?" Effect: The golem is insecure and is looking for a compliment. "So, what are your plans?" Effect: Is the golem attempting to hit on you, or is it sincerely asking you what you want to do as a hunter?! "Can you suggest something for me?" Effect: Pick something out. Roll 1d4. Even, the golem is happy and accepts the suggestion. Buy it. Odd, the golem rejects it. "What do you think of this?" Effect: The golem randomly picks something out. Roll 1d4. Even, the golem is happy and buys it. Odd, the golem looks disappointed and puts it back. "Hey. You try this on too." Effect: The golem forces you to wear the latest outfit/clothing item you purchased. "You should change your outfit too." Effect: The golem forces you into purchasing a whole new outfit and wear it for the duration of the mission. "ERROR QUERY: LOCATION? INPUT NEEDED." Effect: The golem looks at you blankly as shoppers around at you give you an odd look as they begin to whisper among themselves. Choose a store, any store. "..." Effect: The golem is giving you a heavy, cold stare. You feel shamed. "I want two of these." Effect: Double the next item on the list, ie you need two now.
* 3 mission reward points for completing this successfully. If you do not get all of the items, 1 mission reward point + look of pity from the Lighthouse Hunters, plus three days of toilet cleaning.
In addition, for going on this mission you may also choose to shop FOR YOURSELF and update your hunter's wardrobe/things. It'll come out of your own pay check however.
If you lose the list: -$25 is deducted from your paycheck before a Hunter pulls you aside and teaches you how to back the list up on your phone. If the list was on your phone to start with, -$200 to purchase a replacement phone.
Tips/Suggestions:
To move at a faster rate, roll 3d20: first roll represents what store you're going into, the second the golem's opinion of the store, and the last is the golem's reaction to buying an item. Not recommended if you're doing it in groups since doing this pretty much means you're soloing the entire time.
Can I choose which store to enter first? That's fine. Think of the stores you roll = the least crowded. Assume you have only 2 IC hours to do this, so the stores that are open/least crowded = best chance to get everything done.
Can I buy more than one item at a store? Yes, but be sure to roll a golem response for each item purchased!

She'd heard things about this particular mission, but America felt the risk of bathroom detail well worth scamming for what amounted to a half day of extra leave for personal shopping. Hopefully this place would have a decent store for dressy dress clothes, 'cause if not she would have to use some leave for this, anyway. Either way, she'd still get a bit of her To-Do list checked off, because she a particular person in mind to assist her on his hella important, ultra dangerous mission to buy stuff for the bosses.
Knocking on Otto's door, America called out, "Yoooo! Cami you in?"

When it came to missions there was only one kind that Camille was familiar with: the ones that ended up with her bandaged, bruised, and battered beyond belief. Obsessed with her usual training regimen and tasks to do on-island she hadn't ever once bothered to look at anything that would send her off it unless it was on leave. After all, portals had not been overall friendly to the redhead in the past.
Of course when America Jones was calling your name outside your dorm room you didn't say no. Or, well, maybe someone did but Camille was not going to be saying no. She'd been trying to think of ways to get to know the woman she'd seen on Twitter, the woman who'd randomly run by and kissed her in her first two weeks in Deus, and had come up blank.
Pulling the door open with a wide grin she stepped back so that the Moon hunter could come on in if she wanted. "More in than out these days which is a pain in the a**. Or, to be accurate, the back." The hole still hadn't quite healed and it was making things a b***h. Falling on your back hurt when there was a hole in it.

The grin was returned in kind, along with a brief but obvious look over. They hadn't really been in proximity since America's drive-by kissing spree, and her thoughts pretty much ran along the lines of: good job past me. "Oh man, she did you a personal, huh? Well, don't let it keep you off the fields too long, stronger the bond the faster you heal, 'specially for a sunshine girl such as yourself."
America didn't enter, instead choosing to lean into the door frame and waggle her eyebrows in cheesy enticement, "But in the mean time, I've got a hella important mission involving weird shopping lists and a mall of somesort and I've been meaning to corner you again for awhile." The grin widened, "You up for it?"

Would posing for the once-over be too much? Cami's brain assured her that, yes, it was too much. So instead she simply adjusted her posture to make the once-over a little nicer on the eyes before grinning at the compliment. "Sunshine girl? I like it. But I've been told if I get caught out training before I've been cleared I will be given something strenuous and unpleasant to do so...few more days. Trust me, I'm dying to be out there. I've been sneaking jogs at least." As all of this was said Cami'd stepped back from the door to gather up a few things lying about the living room, stuffing them into a drawstring backpack and slinging it over one shoulder.
A single key on a key chain shaped like a strawberry was swung from one finger as the door was shut and locked behind her. Turning back she grinned a bit. "Oh, sorry, were you waiting for an answer? I'm always up for hella important missions that involve weird shopping. Unless you're just wanting the corner in which case I know several very nice ones in the immediate vicinity." All of this was delivered very casually, thumbs tucked in the pockets of her denim shorts, waiting for America to lead where she would.
America was the superior hunter, after all.

"The infirmary folks do get hella scary," America nodded sagely. "I suppose there's other way to help your bond along, but me n'Stryker, we're the physical sort, but I bet there's like meditation s**t you can do too. Maybe ask Allan or Simon, did you know Sun has a special hotsprings hidden away?"
Tucking her hand into Cami's elbow, America raised her eyebrows at the question, "Why not both?"
The lighthouse guards demanded the roll some weird dice, and well, for a day at the mall she was definitely willing to humor their ways on this one. With a roll of the dice, America found herself suddenly saddled with a Caelius golem. Her face went from flirty fun to nononocat to speculative in a matter of moments.

If anyone doubted that the sunshine girl belonged in her division the way her eyes took on an almost anime gleam at the mention of a secret hot spring would have put them all to rest. "No. I did not know that. I know that full Hunters have some kind of bitchin' pool that I may or may not have been swimming in but a hot spring..." She trailed off as they reached the lighthouse, rolling her die while America looked in horror at the golem she was presented with.
Cami's was less horrifying but also less familiar as she looked at the list on her phone, then at the golem in particular. "Isn't this your lead?" It looked like one store could easily get everything she needed which was incredibly efficient. It'd also leave more time for them to do their own shopping. Still, she made a wide berth around Princess Caelius. "Can we reroll?"
America smiled at the Caelius golem the same was she sometimes smiled at Lawrence, a gentle look full of patient murder. "Naw, I can deal with this a*****e here just fine, no worries."
The mall wasn't very large, and a lot of the business fronts were empty which made certain areas a little creepy. But what she did see caused America to get a pleased glint in her eye. She'd be able to get a bunch of stuff for herself here, at least.
"Hope fearless leader likes women's clothing," she drawled, making a beeline for Victoria's Secret, golem in tow.
Looking at where America's purposeful stride was taking her as well as who was walking like cool murder behind her, Cami couldn't stop the explosion of laughter. "Oh this is gonna be something. I'm takin' selfies with the golem just because I am going to need something to laugh about one day. Plus I bet I can make Otto choke on his tongue." She was also going to be taking copious selfies of just herself but that wasn't really something you told a nearly-total stranger.
"He might enjoy one of the PINK jumpers." Certainly she did. Entering the store the former co-ed all but pounced on a table of the colorful sweatpants and zip-ups, hunting for her size and making irritated noises when one of the five colors available wasn't in her size. Moderation wasn't really something she'd learned much and, if she was going to be honest, she needed them. Most of her time was spent in workout sweats these days and these were the most comfy bar-none.
Yet there was an attractive set of bras right across from her and oh God those panties were just adorable. Turning back towards her golem she held up a pair of sweats to the thing's waist. "What size are you again?"

America hid a small cringe at the idea of taking selfies with the Cael golem, and wondered, fleetingly, if the Taym clone was still wandering around Deus. Somethings about their job were just creepy as ********, and it was rarely ever the things that were supposed to be.
"I'm pretty sure she's a B, 36 probably, she's tiny but Edith's like a tiny tank with all her muscle," America answered for the golem as she made her way to the clearance area. Cael had a big old budget, but she wasn't about to spend over a thousand bucks on a tiny list of s**t he wouldn't like even if they weren't women's clothing. Plus the notebook and pen sounded pricey just by the description.
Pulling out a black t-shirt, she held it up for the golem to try on.
"..."
The stare was spot-on like the leader it resembled and America made a face before shoving the shirt at it to hold.
"So has anyone given you The Talk about Otto?" The girl asked as she looked for a pair of pants that might fit Caelius.

"I'm not going in there." At some point the Edith-golem had turned around to look at one of the other stores which, coincidentally, was on their list of places to hit. It didn't seem like something that Caelius would go for either and so it was marked off the mental list. She'd tell America later when they were done here. As it was it was more than simple to pick up at least three of the things Edith had asked for in the most stylish, sexy way possible here at VS. And on sale!
It was the best part.
Built like a tank, 36B? It'd be harder to find the push-up bra than anything else. Frowning slightly as she picked through the sports bras for something the Moon Division leader might like she looked quizzically at America. "The Talk about what? I mean I know the birds and the bees, America." Tongue was tucked in cheek at that as the Edith-golem, already laden under Cami's potential purchases, had her own added. This was highly convenient.

"I'm not wearing that."
Rolling her eyes she shoved a pair of pants with wings on the butt at the thing. Then America smiled at Cami and closed the distance between the two, voice going low. "He's a really good guy who's had a lot of s**t thrown at him, but his life seems to be getting better and you're part of that. So keep to the campfire rule, honey, and if you gotta leave him, make sure he's in better condition for you being there instead of worse."
Leaning closer, the girl continued, "If you ******** up I won't fight you or anything like that, but I will make your life so much the harder, you won't be able to say boo to a kitten without regretting your life decisions. We clear?"
Honestly Cami didn't know whether to be annoyed with America or delighted that she had found yet another person willing to look out for Otto. Because she wanted to like her and had a feeling that America's threat wasn't really personal in the slightest, she chose delighted. Smiling the way her momma had trained her (what a useful skill) Cami leaned in, voice also quiet. "Good. I don't plan on leaving Otto at all; he's been advised he'll have to toss me out screaming if he wants me gone. I'm glad he has people looking out for his well-being though. He needs it."
Unfortunately for America this seemed to have nearly invited a spilling of all of Cami's thoughts and feelings about a certain Otto Graves the way she had started in. "I care a lot about Otto. He's such a sweetheart beneath all that grump and..." Blessed Edith-golem, in the process of holding up a bra to herself, buzzed and clicked oddly. "ERROR QUERY: LOCATION? INPUT NEEDED."
It was loud and unmistakable, jolting the redhead as she swore beneath her breath and took the bra back. "Ahaha, cute joke Edith, you're such a kidder!" Biting her lower lip she looked at the laden golem, tallied the total in her head, and winced a bit. "I might have to learn to be a little economic when it comes to purchases in the near future."

America beamed at the girl, "I've heard good things about you from a stingy ******** source, so I'm glad they weren't wrong. And yeah, he really is." She sighed, "He's way too ******** hard on himself half the time, I blame being around," she nodded toward the Caelius golem who'd decided to try on bras over his shirt while Edith freaked out.
Grinning at the antics, America added, "That Edith, always with her fancy computer slang."
With the shopping lists getting a bit of head way, this seemed a good time to get some personal shopping done as well. Many a selfie was taken as America went from panties, to lingerie, and then finally to dresses, which she went through with a speed and efficiency that came entirely from shopping with Konstantin so often.
"What'd you think?" She turned to Cami in what was looking to be her final choice. "I know i look ******** great in it, but do you think this'll suit for a..." The girl pulled out her phone and made a face, "...nice dinner with besotted and generous swain? Jesus wept, maybe I should buy a ******** dictionary while I'm here."
