[PRP] Where Our Paws Lead (Ban, Tiki, & Atieno)

It had been a hard road so far, for the sibling pair. Chased away and attacked various times, just for existing as hyenas and not another, 'more acceptable' species. Tiki missed home - home where he could cuddle with a wild dog and not be considered strange in any way.

But that home was gone now, and Ban was building them a new one.

The tan hyena was determined... But she was also tired. She was tired of all this wandering and hoping a vision would not hit her at some random-odd point while she was out in the open. She wanted to hid - to bury herself in the earth and just be safe.

So that's what they were going to do - hide in the earth. All they needed to do was find a suitable cave or burrow and make it bigger. The biggest den in the world - enough to fit a whole pack inside...

Atieno.....was actually successful in her hunt. It was a small baby gazelle and plump too. Beginning to eat into her kill, she looked up from what she thought was a lonely and quiet plain space that two hyenas were approaching. Perhaps with no intention but they were two others of her kind that she hadn't encountered, Atieno didn't get out much from her den space really, and stopped eating her food.

Moving around to protective as best as she could with her body, Atieno narrowed her eyes taking a look at the two of them. There was a colorful one of blues, oranges and pink and the companion a tannish with dark gray splotches. Male and female by the height and body shape. They could beat her and take the kill.....Hopefully not.

Instead maybe she could offer a piece each as a peace offering once they got closer so that they could leave her alone. Yes...she wasn't that far away from her den. Atieno had a plan just in case they weren't friendlies.

"You both look weary on this hot day!" Atieno said with a lightly accented voice, raising it so that the pair knew they weren't alone.

To say the siblings were surprised was an understatement, but being so different, the pair reacted in completely different ways.

The tan female snarled, but it tapered off quickly into a small cough. "Ah, Hello," Ban greeted in return. She gave a small laugh, somewhat nervous. She stepped a bit closer to her brother, as if she could protect him.

Tiki, however, stepped back in response to the new female. He could smell her kill and wondered how skilled she was as a huntress to take down something by herself. He watched his sister step forward. She was the stronger of the pair - he just followed.

"We've been walking for a long while," Tiki spoke up from behind his sister, stepping a bit forward, though closer to his sister.

The snarl from the female made Atieno tense up until the tan hyena turned it into a greeting. Watching her companion not say anything but follow the tan one, Atieno kept her gaze on the greeter. Nodding slightly she shifted on her paws slightly. "No doubt you've had a long journey." Looking back at her baby gazelle meat she stepped to the side slightly. "If you like I can offer you a bit of my kill and a place to rest for a short time. Only if you promise not harm me in any way." This female would rather be honest than sugar coat or play dumb. So far she didn't feel threaten by them but one never knew.

To so easily give up a kill was something... something different really. That spoke of an ability to be part of a pack, and it showed a great kindness that the pair of siblings had not encountered in a very long time.

It was refreshing. Ban gave a smile to the other female hyena. "We don't want to hurt you," she offered kindly. "But it would be nice to have a safe place to rest for a while." Ban conceded. Her brother had grown weary of others during the time he traveled with his sister. He had always been somewhat of a serious fellow, but he was optimistic.

He was far more skittish now, and it was beginning to worry her.

"You're a very skilled hunter, Miss," Tiki offered as a compliment. He was still a bit weary. "Have you ever thought about joining a pack?"
