Alili was lying on her back in the hot grass. Not a position she usually took up she had to admit, but she was feeling a little sleepy. She lay half in the shade under a tree with many branches but seemingly few leaves. The fur on her head and neck seemed to stick up on end even more as she rubbed it against the dry ground. Try as she might she was not able to rest her eyes for a second. There seemed to be too much in her mind. This was unusual. Normally going hunting or for a run would help ease any worries she had in her mind, and as a relatively carefree lioness with little responsibility, these were few and far between.

It had taken a moment for Bryne to get Vogel out of his feathers today - that is to say, out of his sleepy state of being. Bryne was an early riser, but Vogel took his time. The patchwork lion bumbled along behind his lady while she cheerfully chatted to him. He, however, grumbled his responses as he followed her.
"What should we do today?" She asked him, amused by his sleepy state. Perhaps they could visit the border, or hunt together.

Meh. She could hear others coming, and wriggled around on the ground in protest. Finally she popped up from the dry grass, like a shadow that had just prised itself from the floor. She pulled herself up and looked around with her somewhat sleep-filled eyes. Maybe she could lie back down and just pray they didn't accidentally tread on her. Alili stood up fully and gave a stretch. It was no use, she wouldn't have been able to drift off anyway. Not in this heat. She was still trying to filter through her busy mind, and figure out exactly which each thing was and why it was there. In fairness, she had had a busy week, so perhaps it was just that.

Fortunately, both were fairly light in fur. There were many around who were not so fortunate, like the lioness that they were venturing vaguely towards. She probably had much harder time of the blaring sun, despite the heat.
"Good day," Bryne greeted her, Vogel mumbling a small greeting as well. The pair kept their trek, though Vogel gave her a curious look. "You look troubled?" He said, pausing in his spot. Bryne took a few more steps before stopping as well

She only just noticed the two lions walking towards her, whose pelts were much better suited to the grass and ground of the Pridelands, and no doubt, to the heat. They looked relatively young, perhaps nearing adulthood, but not quite there yet. She moved a little closer towards them out of friendly curiousity. Alili was always one to return a greeting, no matter who it was from. "'Ello, no sorry dun mind me, I was jus' trying to get a bit of a kip tha's all." Her accent could be a little hard to take at times. She'd been told she picked it up from her father very quickly as a cub, and she was seemingly unable of dropping it, not that she tried. She was content with who she was, and aside from people reminding her, wasn't at all aware that her voice was different to any other. Creatures spoke in plenty of different tongues, anyway. "Whatcha two doin' on this fine day?" It was her attempt at a more formal greeting, she supposed.

Vogel gave the dark female a kind smile, trying to understand her. IT took a moment to understand her accent, but he nodded. "We're just taking a stroll," Bryne answered for the both of them. "Just until Vogel wakes up all the way." Vogel gave a kind of dopey nod to agree.
"Mm, yeah, still don't have a plan though," Vogel responded.

Alili let out a low roar of a laugh. "Ya not woken up yet? Ah bless ya." She was an early riser herself too, preferring to hunt, run and train before the sun had reached too high in the sky, although that was primarily to avoid overworking herself int the harsher heat at midday. "It's a hot day, why dun' ya go for a bath, or ya could have a little spar, or you could do some huntin'..." She trailed off. She remembered being told by her aunt as a young cub, that Alili's idea of fun might not necessarily be everyone else's idea of fun.

Bryne perked up. "A spar sounds fun," she bounced a little. Vogel glanced at her - he wasn't much a fighter himself, but he knew the benefits of it. He wanted to groan, but Bryne was excited by the idea.
"And then a bath after," he near complained. The adult lioness did have some good ideas, though.
Zohwhee
Alili was happily taken aback when the young female seemed to agree with some of her ideas for activities for the day. She hadn't met too many lionesses that agreed with her in truth. Although Pridelanders knew the importance of safety and keeping a good fighting skill, she'd heard about some prides where it was a requirement to train, and quite heavily too. Alili smiled widely. "Ah well if ya ever wanna bit of trainin' or a sparrin' partner I'd be more than happy to help ya out!" She'd learnt through playfighting with her brothers as a cub, and then well, carrying on into adulthood, whether they wanted to participate or not. It was never something vicious though, she just loved a good play-fight.

Bryne was quite happy about that. "I'll have to take you up on that, thank you," She was cheerful about the prospect of having someone to spar with. She knew Vogel would spar with her, but only if he was awake and ready for it. It took him a while to get moving. She did adore him though.
Vogel, in turn, murmured an agreement, nodding his thanks at the dark lioness. "I'm Bryne, by the way. He's Vogel," she tossed her head at him in indication.
Zohwhee
The black lioness was pleasantly taken aback. "Well, maybe not now Bryne. Am still hopin' to catch some sleep eventually." She muffled a yawn with her paw and ran it across the tuft of fur on her head. "Buh, I'll definitely take you out fer a spar soon! Be best to show you younguns what a good spar is!" She joked with a wide grin. "We should sort it out soon, it'll be fun!" Alili was more than excited about having someone to spar with! After the war, they needed to keep on top of their skills, and she hoped she would see the young lioness again. "I'm Alili, by tha way!"
Seaki
"Of course," Bryne conceded. "Perhaps another time, when it's not quite so hot out." The young lioness was pleased, however, and Vogel would be more awake soon enough, and the pair would be able to spar together.
"It's nice to meet you. Alili," Vogel spoke this time. He felt much more awake than when Bryne had pulled him up from his nice, cozy sleep. It always took him ages to wake, but strolling along always make it go a bit quicker.
Zohwhee
Alili bobbed her head to the pair and smiled. "It's nice ter meet ya too, and yer not wrong, it's a very hot day today." She pulled something similar to a grimace but couldn't help but grin through it. It was a peculiar expression, and one she recognised as being so immediately after. She always felt a little better after socializing within the pride, and it was refreshing to have a conversation with younger lions. "I'll remember that then, and jus' come find me when you wanna spar. Yer can't miss me with this dark coat!" She exclaimed. "It was nice ter have met ya both, ya enjoy your day now." She nodded sleepily and made to wander off back into the shade.
