I'm starting the quest for my Wing Mastery. I realize now, that I should have made a conscious effort to plan my leveling a little better so that I would end up with more components that I would use. That's all right, I suppose. Live and learn. Maybe I'll make a guide to help people just beginning their leveling journey..

Anyway, my question is... what are your tips for starting? Especially if you've done it yourself.
I don't have any formulas yet, but I've been gathering mats to craft my own cases.. is this even a good idea?
Is there a demand for level ten alchs to craft the wings for other people?
Should I craft the wings and sell them for a profit? Do people buy them?

Any help with this is appreciated. I'm in the process of making a quest thread to place in the charity area to help me keep track and maybe get some donations from wealthy gaians.

Awesome!
Everyone has different experiences, i can tell you about mine!
i offered to craft wings for someone else in Alchemy Services subforum, but i ended up doing 5/6 myself. i think is worth having a thread offering the service anyway!

i bought 4 quest formulas from someone else, i got 2 from opening cases.
I would definitely save gold for when they put some formulas in the Flynn's Pounder or the cash shop.
Yes definitely start collecting items and components even if you don't have the formula!

when i decided to go for wing mastery my plan was: craft one pair at the time, sell them and use that gold to do the next... reality was totally different! i found myself being too impatient to do that, also i got attached to the wings... also the cash shop version of the wings came along and made the alchemized wings pretty expensive in comparison.

I haven't tried to sell the wings so i don't know how's the market for those right now...Sometimes i think about selling them and getting the non Alchemized versions and earn some gold in the process, but after all the hard work they represent i can't get myself to do it!

i wish you good luck and lots of patience! i hope we can help you somehow here in the guild! heart

I'm one demonfly away from crafting my Devil's wings, and let me tell you...those bugs will probably be the biggest trouble you will have. So far, Gaia has released the lion fish in a chance item, which makes them easier to get. So long as they keep doing it, of course. The furniture can inflate rapidly, but you can get it fairly cheap if you're willing to wait, stalk the mp, snag cheap enchanted golden trunks, and look out for giveaways. My advice is to gather bugs, furniture, and fish at any time possible. Don't wait until you have the formula or have gotten to that point, because by then you may be looking at seriously bad prices.

The guild does its best to coordinate and distribute some items, but it's not easy.

From what I can tell, Cash shop releases of these wings have crippled the demand for the alchemized versions outside of alchemists themselves. This doesn't mean it's impossible to find a buyer, but it's not going to be an easy sell in my opinion.

As for crafting cases...zOMG is going down for a little while (it may already have) so the prices for wing tree leafs and flamingo feathers are going to be high; you're best off gathering as many other components as you can and waiting on zOMG to come back up before snagging those, unless you want to stock up quickly.

Those formulas get pretty pricey, and they become soulbound once you start them. The biggest thing I can say is; make sure you want to do this before you start, because it's a lot of work and a lot of gold. It's rewarding, don't get me wrong. But obviously it's a lot of dedication and not for everyone.

Okay, now that I've been all doom and gloom, congrats on getting to level 10 and good luck! In case you don't already use it, Lei_Trigar's Alchemy guide is very helpful.

Thanks for all your advice so far, I really appreciate it. I know I have to go into this from a different perspective than I did with leveling alchemy: take my time.

Let me ask this: Once you get to formula ten with the wings, there are four more quests, right? So there are 13 quests to get the wings? I was just confused as to why there were multiple formula stages once you got to 10.
Nevermind, I figured it out. I'm rather dense.
Just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly
