"Uaithne, come on I'd like to get some stuff gathered up before the weather starts acting up again. This is the nicest it's been in days, so some berries and plants will hopefully still be in good shape to be collected." the Bulbasaur child shifted on impatient clawed feet, waiting for the Skiddo child to put up what he was working on, the sound of hooves hitting rock as he finally came scrambling into sight reaching her first. "Sorry 'meter. I was busy workin' on something." She gave him an indulgent smile. He was always working on something it seemed. Rushing up to her, he relieved her of a couple of her baskets, and took off at a run enjoying the sun shining through the trees. She was right this was the best the weather had been for days. He stopped and dashed back and grabbed the fishing pole he'd made, and took off again. "I'm gonna be at the water gathering fish for us." "Alright Wren, just be careful down there." she followed behind him at her own pace, vines whipping out from time to time as she went, branches of berries brought back, or leafy stalks, and all, her hands working as well. Tilting her face up to the sun, she took a deep breath and tried to shake the uneasy feeling she'd had for far too long now. When the crazy weather had started up she'd thought this was perhaps the cause of her unease. It wasn't. No, that feeling was still there. So if it wasn't that, what could it be?

It was time for a break! Rivers could get her inland, but only so far, so Kirsi had taken a risk and used her chair to take the various paths along to get around. She didn't like being out of the water for so long. The sun baked her porcelain skin, and the heat of the day made her feel like she would melt! The black shirt she wore seemed to tighten around her chest. It was already too small for her, and the effort to breath the warm air only made it seem tighter. Still, the shirt had been a gift. She wouldn't risk losing it on land!
When she found her way to a small lake, she sighed with relief and rolled her chair all the way to the edge, where she abandoned it for the time being. The water was cool despite the desert-like heat of the day, and she swam to the deepest part of the lake for the coldest water to rest in.

While Uaithne went running to the waters edge and started to fish, Demeter followed behind slowly, gathering as she went. She knew from experience once he got some fish caught for them to eat later he'd start helping with collecting other things. While he was doing that she came to a rest on the shore of the lake, and spent some time collecting smooth rocks to be used for various things back at home. Her vines shot into the water to find larger ones further under the water, and Uaithne chattered a bit as he jumped into the water to cool down a little. It was an overly warm day compared to recently.
When he resurfaced a short distance away he found something he'd never seen before that they hadn't seen due to a rock and he called out to Demeter. "'Meter! I found something! Come and see!" getting to her feet she came closer, puzzling over the wheelchair. What was it?

Quite content in her cool environment, Kirsi couldn't help noticing the splashing from above. The calm water was disturbed by the heavy vibrations rippling through the water from above.
Ever curious, she slowly rose to investigate. She could see the shadow of someone swimming toward the shore line, and made her way there. Oh! She'd left her land chair over there! Hurrying to the surface, she popped up just to her chin, and smiled when she saw how confused the two children looked. "Dew!" she called out, giggling slightly. That was her land chair, of course!

Uaithne turned in surprise landing hard on his rump at the sudden explosion of water behind him, staring in awe at the girl in the water. Who was she? He'd never seen her around here before! His eyes flicked to Demeter who looked just as perplexed, though she did take a partial step forward, not wanting the boy to possibly be hurt.
"Is this yours!?" Uaithne spoke from behind Demeter in excitement, examining it. He'd never seen such a thing before! "Uaithne, stop messing with it!" Demeter's voice was quiet, worried. Would the girl get mad?

Eyes widening, she shrank into the water a bit, a layer of ice forming around her. Oh, she'd only startled them. ...Why did she scare everyone?!
When the little male spoke, Kirsi cocked her head slightly. He seemed really interested in her land chair. "Mine~" she said with a slightly sour note. She wasn't exactly glad it was hers. "Lan' chair." She swam a little closer, but went slow since the young female seemed wary of her. "Go lan' chair, dew."

"Oh..don't go. You surprised us, we didn't know anyone was here too." Demeter called out to the girl in the water with a reassuring smile. Uaithne beamed at the girl. "I've never seen anything like it. A land chair?" he pushed it lightly watching it roll on it's wheels and his eyes lit up. "Oh wow...this is...really neat!" oh yes his eyes were wide with excitement. "Uaithne, its not yours. No messing with it, you could break it." "And if I do, I can fix it Demeter, it's what I do." she frowned at the goat with a sigh, before looking back to Kirso. "I'm Demeter, this is Uaithne, my br.." she was cut off by him. "Brother!" a snicker following his exclamation.

With the girl's gentler tone, Kirsi felt safe enough to swim a little closer. Her main interest was how the boy seemed so enchanted by her chair. Recognizing the name giving, she smiled brightly. "De-me-ter. U-ai-thne." She giggled, pleased by the names. "Kirsi!" she announced, lifting a hand to point to herself.
Feeling more relaxed, she quickly closed the gap with a few powerful kicks of her tail. "Lan' chair. Goes where no can." She pulled herself up onto the dry land with strong arms, and her long tail wiggled to assist as she pulled herself along the ground. Giving Uaithne a smile, she climbed up into the chair to show him how she used it, pushing the larger wheels around with her hands.

Demeter was glad to see the girl in the water coming closer, they hadn't scared her off! That made her smile warmly at the girl, though she was still curious. She'd seen the ice form around her so she was assuming she was like her and Uaithne, and part pokemon. Hearing her talk, Uaithne smiled. "Hiya Kirsi, nice ta meetchya!" he was such an out going boy Demeter mused. "Oh! You're a Dewgong!" the knowledge hit Demeter suddenly, and she eyed the chair again. "No wonder you have this chair, so you can get around! That has to be hard on your hands though." "These aren't tha best wheels fer going larking about over rocks and things either."Both kids were fascinated by the teen and her wheelchair though that was for sure!

"Dew!" she chirped cheerfully. Kirsi was pleasantly surprised to find these land folk knew what she was. She gave a little shrug and looked at her hands. They were strong and calloused despite the rest of her being so smooth. It had hurt at first, but was used to it by now. "No hurt. Thick skin no hurt," she said, putting her hands out for Demeter to see the tough skin that had grown in defense against the rough wheels.
Smiling, she slipped back out of the chair and settled on the ground. She gave the chair a push toward the boy, who seemed most interested. "Try chair?"

"Wow sis you're really smart!" Uaithne's voice came from somewhere near Kirsi and her chair where he was examining it, even as Demeter leaned in to look at the others hands. They looked well equipped for handling the wheels! Being offered the chance to try the chair had him grinning and he turned bright eyes to Demeter who nodded at him and he sat in it then, hands awkwardly rolling the wheels. "Wow...this is hard...and these wheels suck on the rocks and stuff. I bet you're super strong Kirsi!" he sat there lost in thought. Maybe he could....but would she want....? He wanted to tinker with her chair! Improve it!

Watching the boy try out her chair, Kirsi giggled and nodded. The chair was quite difficult to maneuver in this area. "Better on flat places," she said before looking at her arms. Strong? Her? "Strong 'nough for chair," she replied with a shrug. If that made her super strong... was that a good thing? "Chair no like rocks. ..I no like rocks," she murmured, smoothing her short fur protecting her tail from the various stones and edges around her.

"Careful you don't break it Wren." "I won't, but even if I do I can fix it. This thing needs better wheels though! Can I run back to my work room?" "I don't know if you should mess with it Uaithne...you could really break it and then what would she do?" The pleading look he gave her made her nod in agreement and with a whoop of delight he scrambled out of the land chair and vanished through the bushes. "My brother seems to think he can make your wheels like rocks better.

With her head cocked, Kirsi looked back and forth between the children. She had no idea what was going on...
She was surprised when the boy suddenly ran off, and looked to the girl curiously. Make the wheels like the rocks better? Well, it it made an easier time of getting around, then sure! She gave Demeter a smile and nodded enthusiastically.

It didn't take Uaithne long to return from where ever he'd run off to, and when he came back he had two rather large tires in hand and he grinned. "I think these will fit over the metal here... be a little bouncy...easier to go over rocks, and things...." he knelt down and began to mess with the wheels, struggling and straining to get the rubber to stretch over the metal wheel.
"'meter can you lay the chair down for me? If I let go this will come off." using her hands and vine whip she got the chair on its side and Uaithne before much longer has the one wheel completely covered. His actions were repeated on the other side and he smiled at Kirsi.
"Try it! I want to make sure it works."
