Zascha was ready. He had been itching to get out and go do something. Anything. And now that Harlow owed him dinner he was ready to come calling. But all in all Zascha had little knowledge of most places outside him home country. So he had to fight with a computer to look up some information. Googling this and Binging that. Finally he had settled on a place that looked actually pretty damn fun. No point in going out if all you're going to do is eat. Though that is always a plus. He'd left a note on Harlow's door, after a good ten minutes of trying to send a text with no success, for her to meet him at the lighthouse. Zascha was waiting there, standing next to a portal with a large brochure in front of his face. Mumbling to himself slightly.

Harlow was also feeling a little antsy about getting out and doing something. She honestly almost missed the note that Zascha left on her door. School really stressed her out some times especially her Friday classes. She had been running around all day, she felt like a chicken with her head cut off. When she found the note she couldn't help but to smile, this was extremely exciting.
She was running a little late but when she got ready for something she really put her effort into it. She was finishing up her hair pulling it into one of her top buns and pulling a headband over the rest of her hair. It felt nice to not be dressed ins normal hunter attire. No big jacket today, that was nice. She liked layers but they were starting to just get too hot here on the island. She pulled her cardigan over and pulled her messenger bag over her shoulders as she dashed out of the door.
She felt horrible for being late but at the same time she was amused, she did like to keep people on her toes. She approached man with a grin on her face, "Hey stranger!" She called out to him with a grin on her face She was happy that she was going to get out and it was going to be with some one that she normally had fun with. "So where are we headed?" She asked curiously, a goofy grin was still spread on her face.

He wasn't worried whether or not she was a few minutes late, he had his brochure to keep him occupied until she got there. Besides, it just went to prove he was the punctual one of the two anyhow. When she arrived he peeked at her over the top of the brochure, a grin on his face. Good, she had dressed comfortably. He had picked out a pair of dark faded jeans, black boots, a black tank top with a red plaid shirt over top. The sleeves of the shirt rolled up to his elbows. "Glad to see you finally decided to show up. I was afraid I was going to have to drink all the drinks by myself." Turning the brochure around, he opened it up wide. Revealing their destination. "Indian Cliffs Ranch. The computer thing said this place has the best steak house in America or something. Texas. Never been there. But its food. And some entertainment. Figured we could have a bit of fun before we eat." Turning it around he gave it another look. "They have petting areas for animals, a movie theatre, horse rides, wagon rides. Its a veritable bounty of country western junk."

"Yeah, yeah." She huffed as she leaned close and grabbed the map out of his hands. "Hmmm." She hummed as she leaned into it looking at it closely. It looked interesting, but fun. Who didn't like petting zoos? But a petting zoo? She was extremely excited. Until she registered that it was in Texas. She clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth and looked up at him and arched her eye brow. "Does everyone want the girl from Alaska to suffer?"
She folded up the map and then handed it over to him with a grin.
So this counts as a date right?
Harlow tried not to visibly cringe, but she did probably turn a shade of red. She shifted her self pulling her sleeves up and then looking toward the portal. Shut up Neci she hissed in her mind, she was hoping that the weapon stayed quiet during most of the.. "date"???" I don't know just give me a break.
She tried to gather herself again and looked up at him. "So, uh, we just walk through that?" She asked curiously leaning a little closer to it, she was apprehensive about this idea. This was super interesting and odd, but it was going to take them some where fun and that was the important part. "Bring on the petting zoo!"

Zascha pointed to himself with his thumb. "Small hunting village from northern Russia where there is always snow. I know how it is but we're just going to have to grin and bear it." Slipping the map into the back pocket of his jeans he ran his fingers through shaggy brown hair. God don't tell me you plan to kiss this girl or anything tonight so ******** gross. He ignored Gothsmog who was seething in his head. "Seems so. Ladies first." Placing a hand on her back he pushed Harlow through before slipping through himself. A blast of warm air hitting his face, it was a little refreshing. The smell of dirt and animals in the air.

Harlow chuckled as he pointed out where he came from. At least she wasn't alone with this hole cold weather warm weather thing. But she was now unsure about how she was feeling about the jeans and the cardigan but she wasn't about to turn around and turn back.
As he pushed her back she began to step forward herself and as the heat hit her face she cringed, she pulled her sleeves up a little more and then started to walk forward. The boots were appropriate at least. I bet he was trying to touch your butt. That would have been nice. Harlow gritted her teeth, she was glad that he couldn't hear the weapon. She wouldn't be able to handle it.
She looked up and her eyes grew wide as she looked around. It was fascinating, she had honestly never seen anything like it! It was hot and dirty and honestly she didn't care at all. She brushed a stray hair away from her face and turned to Zascha. "Well what first?! she asked with excitement, wandering forward a little looking around as some people walked around. This was all kinds of fascinating for her. There was never anything like this back home. There was plenty to do here.

Pulling the map out of his back pocket, Zascha gave it a quick look over. Though now he had started to wish he'd brought a hat. Oh right! Reaching into one of the pockets of his shirt he pulled out a pair of sunglasses. The bright sun was nice, meant it would be a decently sunny day, but it would kill his eyes to squint through all of it. "Well, lets see. What would you like to do first? We can go to the petting zoon, go ride some horses, go look at the snake pit, run around in some corn." He flicked the map, the paper rustling as he straightened it out. "I suppose we could swing by the movie theatre and see what's playing there."

As he pulled out the map she wandered to his side standing on her tip toes for a moment before arching her head around to look at the map. She scanned over trying to figure out what was going to be the best way for them to go. She listened to the suggestions as she scanned the map before huffing at his last suggestion. "No!" She protested nudging his side as she grabbed the map. "I've been stuck inside all day, beside we can watch movies back at Deus."
She shrugged and then focused down on the map, the idea of people playing in corn for fun was something that baffled her. Why would some one do that? That concept was just baffling to her. "I think the petting zoo is in order." She decided handing him back the map with a smirk, she put a hand on her hip before speaking again. "Or we could ride some horses, I've never seen one in person before." She mused as she started to wander toward the horses. Harlow slipped her hands into the pockets of her cardigan and glanced over at him. "Well come on," she insisted to him as she approached the stables.
It looked like there was a open place to ride the horses to, and luckily it looked far less busy then the petting zoo. She glanced over and watched as various amounts of children squealed and played. She approached the man who seemed to be in charge of assigning the horses and she smiled and asked for two. She turned back to Zascha. "He said he'd be right back."

Her commanding no took him back a bit. Zascha rubbed the back of his neck. But she was right, they could always watch movies back at Deus anyway. Wait...she wanted to ride a horse but she had never seen one in real life? He was a bit unsure about that idea, but he figured there was no point in protesting. She had made up her mind what she wanted to do. "Horse riding hm? Its been a bit since the last time I rode one. We had a few back home, though usually my sisters rode around on them or they pulled a wagon." Slipping his hands into his pockets, he glanced around. It sure was sunny out. "One second..." Moving away from where Harlow was standing Zascha made his way over to a nearby stand. Giving the man running the stand the finger signal for two. After a minute he came back and plopped a cowboy hat on top of her head before placing one on his own. "Here, if you're going to ride a pony in the rodeo you need to look the part. Plus it will keep the sun off your head."

As Harlow walked she looked back and forth attempting to take everything in as she was walking, this place was fascinating to her honestly. She spent most of her time back at home either on a boat, in her home or generally exploring the outside. But there were no horses. She had seen plenty of pictures of them, being able to ride them sounded like quite the adventure.
"You've rode horses before?" She asked curiously, extremely surprised that he had, but happy at the same time. At least one of them was going to know what they were getting themselves into. She pulled herself up on the fence behind her while she waited. A smile was on her face as he wandered over to get the horses.
When he came back she was surprised to see him with hats, but as he plopped it down on her head she made a face. She laughed and pulled it off of her head. "I worked hard on this bun." It was a lie, at this point making buns were pretty second nature to her, but she still had to tease him. She sat the hat on her lap and began to pull her hair down and into a pony tail instead. She pulled the hat back on to her head and then grinned at him. She watched as the man started to bring the horses their way. "Okay sir, you're going to have to shoe me what I'm doing."

Scratching at his cheek, Zascha shrugged lightly. "Its no big deal really. There aren't a lot of driving rodes in my home town so most people got around by horses." The mountains weren't good for cars. Horses had always been more sure footed on the trails. "To tell you the truth I can ride a horse but I can't drive a car." He walked over to the guy who was handling their horses and he took the reins, waving him off. "Though they were more for my sisters benefits. Marina was too small to walk that far on her own to town. Brie had the hardest time tightening her saddle enough so it'd slip and slide around onto the horse's belly tossing her to the ground half the time. And Anna was always trying to braid the horse's hair, putting beads and flowers in it. She said it made them feel more lady like, even though she also did it to the one gelding." He laughed but then quickly frowned. Silent for a moment. But he brought the horses over with a smile, wrapping the reins of each horse to a stand. "Better a messy bun then a sunburnt face. Then I'd have to call you tomato face for a week." He grinned wide motioning her to her horse. "Stand on the left side, grab on to the horn of the saddle and the back. Pull yourself up and swing your leg over. Do you want a boost pipsqueak?"

Harlow was honestly surprised that he had experience with horses, but happy at the same time. One of them knew what they were doing and she was certain that was a good thing. She chuckled as he talked about his home town. "Never really needed anything that wasn't in walking distance." She shrugged, it was pretty nice having everything where she could walk to partly because she liked walking so much. Some times she wish it was different and she had a little more adventure in her life but at the same time it wasn't something that she was crazy about doing.
As he started to talk about his sisters she sat with a amused smile on her face he just looked so happy about what he was talking about. She really enjoyed seeing the people that she cared about happy. But as he talked her could hear his tone lower and then there was the frown and silence. She didn't want to say anything to him, she didn't really want to interrupt the silence. She felt like he needed it.
"Oh hush." she hissed to him as he threatened to pick on her. She couldn't help but to laugh as he pulled her hat down a little more so it sat better on her head. As he approached with the horses she smiled once again and grabbed the reigns. She looked up at the horse thinking about it and before she spoke she turned to him and made a face. "Come on! I'm not that short." She tried to stay grumpy but a small smile was growing on her face. She started to pull herself up on the saddle and then turned to him as she caught her balance. "Okay! Lead the way I guess!"

Her comment confused him for a moment. The village near his home was in walking distance. In that you had to walk there to get there. Just cause they used horses didn't mean much. There were some places he had seen where people rode horses all the time, even to just go down the road. It was just much more convenient. "Shorter than me." He laughed, hauling himself up onto his own horse and turning it about. "I doubt it'll take you long to understand how to move about. Its just like a boat rudder, pull the reins in the direction you want to go and give a little squeeze with your heels." Zascha demonstrated by pulling the horses head lightly to the right, squeezing his heels into it's sides with a click of his tongue. The horse began to move at a leisurely pace in the direction it had been pointed.

She shifted herself on the saddle so she was as comfortable as she could get before turning to him with a smirk. "Okay fine." She agreed in the most dramatic way possible, rolling her eyes as she did. She looked back at him with a smile listening to the instructions that he had to give her. It sounded simple enough, She grabbed the reigns in her handles and dug in her heels a little, she was surprised as the horse started to move and she held on, straightening up as she did. She was nervous but at the same time pleased. This was going to be fun.
As the horses strolled she turned to Zascha. "So you have sisters?" she asked curiously. They hadn't really talked much about anything personal before. But she was curious, she had a small feeling it was going go be a sensitive subject though. It almost always was for everyone at Deus. She looked forward watching to make sure she wasn't about to send her horse in the wrong direction.

"Had." He corrected. Zascha's voice was a little flat when he responded, realizing this he forced a small smile. It had been a while since he'd honestly spoken about them to anyone. They were his reason for being here after all. "All younger sisters. Marta the oldest, Anna and Brie were second oldest twins and Merina the youngest. Funny story, when my mother was pregnant with Anna and Brie she didn't know she was going to have twins so was going to name the one baby Brieanna, but when they were both born she chopped the name in half and named them Brei and Anna because she hadn't planned on having to pick a second name." The images of their faces had begun to fade over the years. It had become increasingly hard to remember their voices as well. But he always kept a picture of them. Moving his horse closer to her's, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a gold, engraved cigarette case. Flipping it open to reveal a faded photograph. A picture of him and his four sisters. "Marta was the motherly type. She took over the household duties when our mother died. Anna was the girly type, she tried to wave flowers into the cow's hair and paint the cheeks of the chickens. Brie was a tomboy. She wanted to play football professionally, so we'd often kick the ball around until she was able to join a youngster league or whatever they are called. Merina...she was an old soul. Very observant for one so young she had what some might think as a strange connection with the world around her. But she was very sweet and innocent. She liked to feel big, always trying to help Marta or I out with things. Trying to prove that she was a big person too." He ran his thumb along the edge of the case before he snapped it shut and placed it back in his pocket. "Do you have any siblings?" Now that he was done babbling about his own.
