( I'll change this image once they're all properly certed ) Her glowing red eyes never left the fluttercorn mare that happily hopped around in the sand with their fox comapnion. They had only met recently, but already Nayeli felt a slight attachment to her. Although Nalani was much older than she was, Nayeli was much larger and stronger. She had been drawn to the other mare's innocence and hidden sadness. Nalani had explained to her that she was the third creature the mare had come in contact with since her family disappeared many years ago. It upset Nayeli, knowing that such a friendly mare had been alone for that long, but she was also surprised to see how cheery the mare was even after having to deal with that kind of solitude. There was nothing better for her to do with her life at the moment, so it seemed right to stay with Nalani and keep an eye on her.Lior weaved left and right as Nalani carefully hopped over him in a little game they usually played when they weren't busy collecting seashells. He picked up his pace, trying to give the mare a bit more of a challenge. "Come on, Nalani. See if you can keep up." The bright little fox was careful to duck down in time not to trip the mare if she did not jump high enough.Nalani giggled and fluttered her wings to help keep her hovered over the fox long enough for him to pass safely to the other side. She instinctively curled her tail upwards with each hop over her friend. "Silly Lior. Don't go too fast. I'm afraid that I might step on you." The small fluttercorn collected herself a bit faster, trying her best not to trip or land on him.

Eya stalked through the undergrowth with the grace of an angry elephant, whacking the bushes with her tail as loudly as she pleased. A proud grin was spread across her face, she had once again managed to sneak away from her mother - successfully. She gave a small skip, giving her feathery mane a shake. A few of the softer, downy feathers came free and drifted to the ground beside her. She hated her mane, there were way too many feathers and they itched like crazy when they grew in. Her mother told her that most of them would fall out, leaving behind only the nicer, longer feathers. But for now she was stuck looking like a porcupine.
Giving a happy giggle, she broke into a sudden gallop, charging as fast as she could. She wasn't going anywhere in particular, she just loved being able to move. Her gait was awkward, hindered by the talons on her front legs, but that didn't stop her. She lumbered through the trees, heading out towards the open plains. She raised her head and threw out a loud whinny, not caring if anyone could hear her.
And suddenly there were people ahead of her. Eya tried to brake, skidding across the ground to avert the crash. Her own legs stumbled out, splaying in all directions as she hit the ground with a thud right before the three travellers. "Oooooowwwwwch." She whined, before lifting her head to look at them in the eyes. "Erm, hello."

The high pitch whinny had caught her off guard. Nayeli spun around and looked to where the sound came from, her ears forward in alert. She raised an eyebrow as a small creature tumbled in front of her. What..the hell? It was a foal of some sort, a beast she had never seen before. Although she had similar horns and tail as her mare companion, the claws were very unfamiliar. They looked deadly even for a foal. Nayeli took a step back and snorted. She did not want to imagine what a full grown creature like this could do with those talons. If there was a foal, then there were parents, and Nayeli wanted no part in dealing with them if they considered them dangers to their baby. When a fight broke out, she usually managed, but this creature was unknown to her. So it would not be wise to fight something she did not know of or ever seen.Nalani had lost her footing as soon as she caught sight of the foal and almost stepped on her fox friend. She was too lost in shock to even apologize. It had been years since she had seen a young one, not since her own foals anyway, and it tore at her heart. The fluttercorn slowly moved closer, lowering her head to show that she had no intentions of causing her harm. "Hello there, little one. Are you okay?"Lior raced around the two mares to get a better view, only to pause right next to the foal. He lowered his head closer to her and took a sniff, then sat down on his hind legs. The fox eyed the strange mane, wondering what it was. He was tempted to nibble on it, but he knew one of the mares would chase him off if he tried anything funny.

The foal stared at the two strangers, nervously flicking her ears back. She hadn't factored running into people into her equation. Would they try to make her go back to her mother? She didn't want her adventure to be over yet. Guilt and fear prickled beneath her skin as she gulped. But then her eyes hardened into grey steel as she shot them a look of resolve, scrambling up onto her hooves. "Pleased to meet'cha! Name's Eya." She wasn't hurt really, so she felt no need to answer the mare's question.
One of the soquili, the one who'd spoken to her, had big butterfly wings. Was she a flutter? Eya had never met a flutter before, only heard stories about them. This one had a horn and tail like her own, though no feathers nor talons. But apparently those weren't uni traits anyway, so Eya supposed that probably made sense. The other one had a weird horn, not like her own at all. It was curved and split into two halfway up its length. The foal stared, not realising that it might be perceived as rude. "If ya don't mind my say-so, what exactly are you?"
Her gaze switched to the fox, standing right next to her. He must have been a familiar, otherwise he wouldn't stand so close - or be there at all. Her mother had a familiar too, a hummingbird. One day Eya would find one, a super awesome one that would be heaps of fun to play with. She was sure of it. She gave him a friendly wink, followed up with a small giggle.

Nayeli narrowed her eyes at the child and kept her ears back, still wary of her presence. "Why would a foal be wandering around on their own without any sort of protection? There are many things here that would love to make a meal out of you." She was ready to chase her far away from their territory, just to be on the safe side. The small mare next to her flattened her ears and huffed. "Shame on you, Nayeli! Don't scare her like that. Have you forgotten that I, too, was on my own when I was a foal? I survived and I'm sure she can as well, but if she needs help I will gladly offer it." Nalani turned to the foal and smiled, "Don't mind her, she is always grumpy. To answer your earlier question, Eya, I am a fluttercorn and my name is Nalani. This here, is Nayeli, I'm not quite sure what she is to be honest. All I know is she is a mixed breed. As for the cute little fox next to you, that is Lior. If you ever need someone to play with, I'm sure he'll be happy to join in on the fun." A tiny yip was heard from the side of the foal, as Lior agreed to Nalani's comment. He loved foals, but it was rare for him to actually come in contact with one. So he was very excited to see this one up close. "It's nice to meet you, Eya. I'm always up for adventures if you ever want to explore." He nodded happily and tapped his tail on the ground next to him.

Eya scowled at Nayeli's question. "I'm not like... alone alone. My mother's somewhere nearby." She threw the comment over her shoulder with a humph, refusing to think much about Sakura. "Besides, I can take care of myself! I'm big and strong!" She dropped into a mock-crouch, a growl escaping between her teeth as she waggled her rump with about the grace of a newborn elephant.
The foal turned to look at Nalani, perking her ears back up and rising out of her silly pose. She let out a giggle, "You look a bit like a butterfly. Can you do any cool stuff? I know I'm supposed to be able to heal 'cause I've got a uni horn like you, but I've never really been able to do it. Mum can 'cause she's an alicorn. But then I've got these weird claws and feathers for hair. Sometimes I think my dad must've been a bird, but mum claims I'm a 'Hi-po-gryph'. I'm not really sure what that is."
"I like your horn, Nayeli." Eya turned back to the other mare, trying to be a little more friendly. After all, she didn't want to get chase off yet! Or worse, sent back to her mother. "And I'm pleased t'meet'cha Lior! I've never met a fox before." She laughed, jumping up and down a couple of times. "I'd love to play!"
